Thunderstorms the entire trip?

Wow, is that the view from your room? Boardwalk Inn? What kind of room is that?
Great video!

Yes, That was a "Boardwalk View" room.

I also have a video from our Club Level Room too from a different trip:

As someone else mentioned, in addition to good ponchos, be sure to think about your shoes. I'd recommend bringing at least three pairs per person on your trip, so they have a chance to dry out from one day to the next. (You can stuff wet sneakers with newspaper to help them dry faster, and/or blast the insides with a hot hair dryer!). Whether you bring sneakers, shoes like Tevas, or other types of footwear, it's a good idea to have a couple of different options. And watch out with Crocs, if you go that route - they can be slippery when wet!

And it's a good idea to bring an extra pair of socks for each person if rain is predicted - sometimes just changing your wringing-wet socks can help you feel better, even if you can't change your shoes.

Just thought of one more thing: Even with ponchos, you can get somewhat wet. Be prepared because if you're wet and go inside a shop or restaurant to wait out the worst of the storm, you're likely to get really cold! They'll probably have the A/C on full blast, and you'll feel even colder if you're set. It's not a bad idea to throw a hoodie or something similar in a backpack just in case. Most people don't think of that when it's so hot out, but the A/C can be brutal.

I will say that now that are kids are older we don't mind thunderstorms. They don't last long and it truly empties the park. Last February break we had one in the evening and it emptied MK. After that our kids did 7DMT several times in a row - that never happens with that ride.
agree...take your ponchos and have a great time!

Well, it stormed at my house all day yesterday and I can see WDW from here . . .

May is a transitional month when it comes to weather. In the winter and spring, rain is tied to weather fronts. That is what happened yesterday. A cold front slowly passed through the area, and the rain associated with the front moved slowly as well. In the summer, we get mostly storms tied to the sea breeze collisions, so they are in the afternoon or early evening for the most part, and quickly come and go. May is sandwiched in between, so sometimes we get a day or two of rain because of a front passing through, and sometimes it gets hot enough for the sea breezes to kick in and produce an afternoon storm.

As most people have said, 12 days out the forecasts are very unreliable. I wouldn't count on any forecast more than three days out, and even those can be subject to change at a moments notice. It is very rare to have rain all day, every day, for several days in a row. I can only recall that happening in the winter if a front just gets stuck over us and doesn't move.
