Thrown out of the park?

My DD was a CM at TofT and one of their jobs is to monitor nastiness on the rides, flashing, gesturing, etc.

She also indicated that they have levels of suspension from attractions. For example, Sunset Attractions (RnR and Tower) will kick people out of their area for the duration and there are enough "eyes" to make it work.

People are removed, but you probably won't ever see it.

Flashmountain is an old site that's been around for years. I don't think they've added any new Splash Mountain pics since the 90's. I"m not a regular or anything, but I do remember when I first heard about the site, I looked STRICTLY OUT OF CURIOUSITY AND HUMOR (ok, the wife is out of the room ;) ). But seriously, I just looked again when someone mentioned, and they are the same pictures of the same nasty looking women.

I'd like to see a group of characters conducting tactical maneuvers on a hostage crisis in IASW (believable, the music just made someone snap where all the boats back up. . .I guess the Stockholm Syndrome would set in pretty quickly too).

Mickey and Donald with TAC vests on, doing quick peeks and cross overs and using hand signals. Third eye Mickey, third eye.

We were entering MK for EMH right around regular park closing time and saw security escorting a young woman out in handcuffs. DD and I had to go to guest relations because my key to the world had demagnetized (on our first day, too), and that is where we saw it. They were trying to be discreet, even though they were using the main exit, but the woman was sobbing hysterically, so it was hard not to notice. I have to admit, for a few minutes, it did cast a strange pall over the magic for us. Fortunately, Wishes was starting just as we were going in, so we soon got the good vibes back!

OK, I'm no criminal. But, if I get to go into the tops of the buildings over Main Street, it might be worth a shoplifting fine and a rap sheet! :)

But with my luck, I'd be held underground in a cement room. Not taking any chances.

I did see a woman freak out in the Winnie the Pooh ride line (lots of little kids there of course) and she started screaming at another woman- blank you - you blankity blank, I'm gonna blank you up... She was screaming- we were not even in the ride line -we were just standing nearby- and we could hear it clear as a bell. I don't know if she knew the woman or not. Well aCM escorted the screaming woman out of the line and spoke to her and then left. The woman went off to find her family. So I know you don't necessarily get thrown out for some pretty outrageous behavior.

Thrown out of the park?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't mean to make anyone feel bad but I'm just curious since I've seen so many blatant violations of conduct in the parks (toooo many examples to list - line cutting, screaming matches, getting drunk or arriving drunk!, etc.)

I think WDW should crack down on the people that break the rules. These people feel that rules don't apply to them anywhere in this world and that their happiness and comfort are more important than anyone else's. Ever notice that the people that yell and scream the loudest , usually get what they want? What kind of lesson do these people learn when business' give in to this behavior? It's like dealing with a 3-year old.

You're cracking me up. I may not mind being locked up in that jail for a little while - especially if Captain Jack Sparrow were in there. Right ladies?? :thumbsup2

Anyway - that was a great response.

There is a holding pen, but I don't think it's above Main Street. If memory serves, I believe it's out of the parks themselves, but still on Disney property. I may be wrong, but I want to say it's in a non-guest-area location.

Oh, thanks a lot for mentioning this!! Now I'm going to spend the rest of the day obsessing about whether they have any hidden Mickeys there. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Flashing in the parks should be cause for immediate expulsion from the parks. I can't tell you how many times I've been enjoying a dark ride or show and some flash goes off from an idiots camera. It totally ruins the ride and the person flashing that camera should be punished!!!! :thumbsup2

I never heard of a holding cell above main street. Where did you hear this?

They told us about the security issues during our keys to the kingdom tour. Seems the door way was near the jewlery store toward the back area where CMs go in and out. While doing the another backstage tour (the 3 park one last year) we were in the back area and there were a few local police cars parked there. We were told that the Orange County ? law enforcement (not sure if police or sherrif office) has an office right there above the store and when they remove someone they can drive the police car to the back location so that no one sees them. They use cameras to scan for shoplifting or pick pocketing all of the time and make many arrest daily. They are just trying to keep us honest folks safe and trying to keep the bad ones from ruining our vacations. Our tour guide even pointed out alot of the cameras throughout the tour (Keys to the Kingdom). I thought this was interesting and pointed out a side to what goes into making our vacations magical and safe.

That is always a good question to ask when doing the keys to the kingdom tour. They do touch on those types of questions. There are cameras EVERYWHERE and there is a jail/or holding cell on mainstreet above the stores. There are law enforcement folks there and folks are quietly taken away all of the time, usually for shoplifting. THe removal of folks is usually done so well that most folks probably wouldn't notice what is happening as they are escorted to a backstage location. Big brother mouse is always watching and there are places on mainstreet that most of us hope we never have to tour!

I know I shouldn't be surprised, but you pay $50 to get into the park or whatever to turn around and steal something. Hopefully none of them had families with them and if they did I feel horrible for them.

No I have never seen this happen nor have I never seen anyone do anything wrong. I hope that I never do as it would crush my expectations of The Magis of Disney. But I am sure that things happen every day that they have to deal with.

We did ask about "flashing" and rude jestures on rides where there is a photo taken. I don't know how the picture ends up on web sites but the CM said if its not the entire party on the ride (ie. two bad boys/girls in the back of the boat are doing something unmentionable ) then the picture is deleted and your party of "good" theme park guest are given a special FP to return to the front of the line and ride again for a chance to get a proper group photo.

Wow - that must only happen if you make a fuss - wish I'd known to! We "lost" our photos twice in a row on Splash Mountain when we were ready to buy them! Oh well...it saved us money I guess.

personally i think if anybody flashes they should be banned from the parks after all it is a family park and i dont think this should be allowed
I agree.

Okay, I wasn't actually present for this (thank goodness!) but several years ago my sister and her husband were at WDW. They both do rather enjoy partying and alcohol, and on this occasion had a few drinks in their hotel room before heading over to the Magic Kingdom. I think it was only about noon when they got to the park but apparently my brother-in-law was already rather inebriated, and as they walked (or was it staggered?) up Main Street, he was approached by security and apparently got rather belligerent. He was removed rather quickly from the park, with my sister following - and she was furious. They didn't get their money back either, even though they were only in the park for about five minutes!

I also saw another incident (and I've posted about this before) where a child was crying and protesting loudly in Turtle Talk. When Crush suggested to the father who was holding the child that maybe he should take his daughter out, the father started shouting at Crush (always a bad sign) and saying that he wanted to leave but Disney wouldn't give him back his money, and he was determined that no matter how miserable his poor little girl was, he was going to stay until he got a refund, apparently. It was really horrible. Anyway, eventually several cast members came in and removed the man and his daughter, and the last I saw of them they were being escorted towards the exit. I really hope they banned him - but I was wishing they'd give that little girl a lifetime pass to make up for her experience.
