Same with EMH. Don't you only get early admission on the day of your throwaway reservation? Once you move off site, don't you lose that privilege?

You get EMH and Parking Privilages for two days. If you check in on the Monday and Check out on Tuesday you can access EMH on both Monday and Tuesday, as well as parking.

We do short 4 night trips....here is how it's gonna go.

Arrive on Monday- Do MNSSHP.
Tuesday- hang at condo pools- do dinner at DTD
Wednesday 'check in' at ASMu. Use EMH that day, and included parking
Thursday - use EMH that day and included parking along with busing to MK to avoid TTC.

***we have magic bands from our last 'throwaway trip' so we are good to go there for MNSSHP.

I think the idea of a throwaway room is very smart. We have a throwaway campsite booked for October, that only cost us $46 because we were also able to get a 30% discount on it. We will get 6 magic bands, which would have cost $78! Add the $34 parking benefit, and we have come out way ahead! Not to mention the huge FP benefit!

Earlier this month we visited the parks for 5 days, having booked a 1-day campsite at Fort Wilderness for about $60. We physically stayed off-site. We did the online check-in option a day before, never having set foot on the campsite. How were you able to get the free parking pass without checking in in-person? We also want to get the free parking, but would rather just do the online check-in if possible. What did you show the parking attendant, to get the free parking? Thanks.

For the purchase of the campsite we received:

-2 days of free parking for check-in and check-out day ($34 value)
-5 magic bands for our family ($64.75 plus tax)
-60 day FP+ booking window for the full length of our trip, not just the campsite days
-option to purchase a BOG FP+ lunch
-option to use EMH (we followed easyWDW touring plans, so we actively avoided EMH, but to each his own)

Honestly, I just don't get the argument that this is gaming the system or cheating. It's not even right to call this a loophole. All of these are the benefits available for booking an on-property campsite that I purchased. Is it really anyone's concern how I choose to use my campsite?

I understand the argument here is that this is preventing other people from "legitimately" using the campsite. But this implies that somehow I'm not "properly" using my campsite. Says who? You? What if I booked an ADR and chose to only purchase a milkshake? Are you mad at me for not ordering dinner? I'm sure there's someone else who wanted that ADR for a full dinner, but I got it before them. Why is that something I should be worried about?

Anyone who was turned away from a campsite because of capacity was welcome to plan as far ahead in advance as I did. Next time, if they get it before me, they are free to use it however they want. I don't have any reason to get upset at someone else for getting to it first.

The parking attendant should be able to scan your magic band.

This came up on another thread. Some people seem to think this doesn't work all the time, but it worked flawlessly for us, no issues at all.

I am betting the MB works for the free parking but I'm not a betting person....so...we will drive over and do a quick check in in the early AM hours.

Ok, this throwaway room idea is intriguing. If I were to book a campsite for my party, it says up to 10 people. We have 11 counting a 2 year old. Do they count? Will the 2 year old get a magic band? If we have 3 cars, will we just get one parking pass or 3?
Also, would I need to book it for the first night of our stay? We will arrive on a Saturday but not go to the parks until Sunday. Thanks!

I'm not sure how you are all getting the 60 day FP benefit with a one night stay? We have a night onsite, followed by 3 off, and then 7 on. My window for the first night opened last night, but it would only let me book FP+ for Oct 21 and 22nd? We don't even need them until 10/26 but I thought it would open +10?

It isn't just 60 days from check in - it's more complicated.

Taken from WDW Untangled (based on how it worked last I checked):

If you have a Disney-operated Walt Disney World resort reservation, you can make FastPass+ selections starting at 60 days from your check-in date, up through the length of your reservation (including check-out day), for as many days as your ticket length. If you have tickets that are longer than your reservation, you can then continue you make additional FastPass+ selections 60 days from the date in question, up until your check-in date arrives. At that point, you cannot make selections beyond the 60th day from the check-in date, until you get to 30 days away as a non-resort guest as explained below.

To clarify by way of example, if your check-in date is July 1st and is for 5 days/4 nights (check out on July 5th), and you have a 10-day Magic Your Way ticket with No Expiration, you can begin making FastPass+ reservations on May 2nd, and can make FP+ selections for July 1st through the 5th (5 days worth). You still have five days left on your ticket (perhaps you are staying off-site later), so on May 7th you can book FastPass+ for July 6th (60 days from that date), and on May 8th you can boot July 7th, etc. As long as you have less days of FastPass+ booked than your ticket length, you can do this up until July 1st comes around, when you can book August 30th – but you can’t book beyond August 30th at all until you get to August 2nd, at which point you can book August 31st, and follow the 30 day rule from then.

In other words, after your check out date, you still get 60 days but from the date in question, not the check-in date, and that hold true until your check-in date arrives.

Gotcha! So, it's more like a rolling 60 days. It won't really help us then because our window for the 7 day stay opens Monday night anyway. Thanks.

This is exactly what happened to us. Here is our example.

I have 6 days worth of tickets plus MNSSHP.
My mom has 2 days worth of tickets plus MNSSHP.

I have 3 nights with my MIL and SIL for a girls weekend on October 9/10/11. I was able to book MY FPs for ME only for 9/10/11/12 at 60 days out.

My mom is coming down on the 12th. We check in onsite on Wednesday October 15th for our throwaway room for 1 night. 60 days out I was able to book October 15th and October 16th for BOTH of us.

I had thought that we wouldnt be able to book my mom MNSSHP fast passes for October 13th until 30 days out because she is NOT on any onsite ressie for that time frame. I was wrong. As posted above once our window opened for the 15th 16th ---because we had more disney tickets available to us we were able to book the 15th for my mom too. So we could book FPs for ANY date for both of us UP to and including October 16th based on the # of ticket days we had.

My takeaway from our experience is to book your throwaway room perhaps mid trip or last night so that you can get FPs for your entire length of trip.

If you are worried about getting AE or 7DMT then you might have to book your throwaway room earlier in your trip....but keep in mind that once you check out....say on the 16th....you won't be able to make 60 day FPs beyond the 16th.

For us booking the dummy room for the last night of our trip worked out well- and we were able to get 7DMT for 2 days prior to that also so 58 days worked well for us.

I have a FP+ Question.

We are going to WDW on an extended trip during January and February. We will be staying at AKL for 5 days, then going on a 7 day Disney Cruise and then coming back for 4 1/2 weeks and staying at a DTD Resort (not Disney) We have an annual pass. We have made FP+ before but only with an AP and not staying onsite.

1. Since we are staying at AKL, we can make FP+ 60 days out from our check in date?
2. Can we still only hold 7 days worth of reservations at a time since it's an AP Ticket?

Thank you

1. Yes, you will be able to make FP+ for those 5 days you are at AKL.
2. I think the only time an AP holder can have more than 7 is when they are staying onsite for more than 7 days, which you are not. I could be wrong though.

I was thinking the same thing re: 7 days. We have only ever been able to hold 7 days at a time due which is so frustrating.

I'm wondering if we will be able to make 7 days worth at 60 days out?

I think you will only be able to make 5 days worth but I'm not 100% certain.

Thanks! I was thinking we would only be able to make 5 days (technically 4 since we will be too late on arrival night to hit a park) Hopefully we can get the Mine Train before the cruise.

Can someone answer a few questions for me pretty pleeeeeease? :) I only have a couple days to decide if I want to book a throwaway room before the 60 day window.

1. Will our 2 year old get a magic band?

2. When do I book the throwaway room, the beginning of our trip or the end? Our ticket will be 5 or 6 days, starting on a Sunday October 26. If I book it for Sunday night will I be able to book fastpasses for Sunday throughout the whole 5-6 days or just the 2 days?

3. We are a family of 6 traveling with my Mom and Dad and DHs mom, sis, and niece. We have 11 people total. Could I book one campsite for all of us? I notice when booking online, it is counting the 2 year old. Do I just leave him out? Is he needing a magic band? I haven't bought tickets yet, do they send him a ticket?

4. If my other family members buy their tickets separately, can they all link them to the registration and get magic bands?

5. Is parking covered for more than one car? We will have three.

6. Does a 2 year old need a fast pass to ride a ride if, say, they don't get a magic band or ticket (depending in how you answer question 1)

Thank you SO much for responding!!!
