It's only controversial on here because certain people feel like they are entitled to more by actually sleeping in the room / at the campsite. The only controversial aspect IMO are the people who book campsites, reap the benefits and then cancel. That seems very wrong IN MY BOOK but I'm not going to argue the "ethics" of it with people who see it differently, to each their own.
I was at WDW a few weeks ago and the money that I spent on the throwaway campsite was probably the best money spent all week. For ~$50, you get:
- free parking at parks for 2 days (check-in / check-out) - a $34 value
- up to ten MBs (~$130 value)
- if you link your park tickets to a separate MDE than the one you use for the campsite, you are getting a ton of bonus same-day fastpasses (SDFP) for each day. 3 SDFP for each band when you go to kiosk the first time, 1 at a time after you use first 3. (invaluable IMO - I saved so much time, especially at MK)
- the ability to book FPs at 60 days out (I did not use this aspect as I booked throwaway room too late). Unlike if you were staying onsite the full week, it is a rolling 60 days, meaning that you book one day at a time - each one at 60 days out.
Cartwright, I know Disney_Princess83 has answered this but I guess I'm just being my obsessive self.
I have a throwaway campsite booked for Feb.
I really don't plan to be anywhere near the campsites on our visit and am NOT planning to physically check in.
I'm just wondering if you physically checked in to the campsite.
Hoping to hear that you did not check in and that all went well

TIA,
Karen
