Yesterday I booked AKL standard for mid July -7 nights- 2 adults and 1 15 year old for $1456. I think that is great for a deluxe, around $200 per night, not even low season. I originally booked Thursday for just me and my DD for $1323, but had to call back to add my DH, because he decided to join in :). Orbitz was beyond easy to deal with. I first tried Disney, and after a long wait and having to listen forever to the beyond annoying automated system and scratchy music, I got a very nice CM who told me what I already thought, that I had to add him through Orbitz. He also told me I could NOT link it to MDE by myself, that Orbitz had to do that. Hmmm..... I called Orbitz and got a human right away! He was able to pull my reservation right up, and said he had to call Disney to ask about the extra adult. He put me on hold and did that, and came back fairly quickly to confirm that he would have to cancel and rebook for me at the new total. He gave me the new confirmation number which is a 6 digits. He also gave me a very long disney confirmation number starting with a 4. I said good bye to him in Guatemala, and opened up MDE. I tried to link with the Orbitz number, and bingo, it worked right away! I also tried to link with the traditional long Disney confirmation number he gave me and got a message that the reservation is already linked, so it seems to all match up! There were no Magic Bands associated with the reservation yesterday, but today like magic, there are 3 associated with my AKL reservation all ready to customize today. The one thing I forgot to think about was Magical Express, and thought I needed to call WDTC again, but I googled and found a link that seemed to work! https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/airport-transportation-reservation/
I will still call WDTC to doublecheck about the DME reservation.
I was super hesitant about the whole booking through a different company than Disney, but now I think there is nothing to worry about.
This reservation is costing me less than my AP discounted trip to PORS last month. I am beyond excited!!
It is a 5 day cancellation policy, and my refundable flight is on Southwest (112 ea way!) so this is a very reasonable trip money wise!
I wanted to post my good experiences for others who may be wondering.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

WTDC probably won't be able to tell you anything about your DME but you can call DME directly at 866-599-0951.

Agree! I saved three days' worth of Disney food and spending money with the Orbitz deal, and earned plenty of Orbucks for future travel, too! The only thing that sucked was canceling my reservation with my TA, which I felt really badly about doing, but she understood that I couldn't walk away from saving several hundred dollars.

Glad you liked Cheaptickets! We also booked our rooms with them, and saved over $800 above the Disney special offer! :goodvibes

I booked the same deal! AKL in a standard room for July 1-8 for $1449! Extremely happy and it all linked to MDE! Magic bands all set too. Also booked the Magical express through https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/reservations/dme/index?bhcp=1 and a couple of days later got an email confirmation that it was reserved. It also showed on MDE at the bottom of my resort ressie that Disney's Magical Express was set up! All so easy for an awesome price! Can't wait for July!!!

If booking through Orbitz, can you add the dining plan on later?? We currently are planned to go in Sept but a week in June also is an option for us. This one saves us some money but we like to add on the dining plan. Anyone tried this or know?

No you can't add the dinning plan on if booking through Orbitz. The dinning plan can only be added if you book a package through Disney.

You can't get the dining plan at all if you book through Orbitz.

Orbitz and the other resellers (Travelocity, Expedia, Cheaptickets, etc.) sell the equivalent of a room-only reservation. They don't sell packages, and you need a package to get a dining plan.

You can get a plan if you book a package through Disney yourself, or if a travel agent books through Disney on your behalf - not through a reseller or broker.

You should be using the "hotel confirmation number" and not Orbitz' own reference number.

If you look at a confirmation email or your reservation details under "My Trips" on the Orbitz page you will see the hotel confirmation number listed with the hotel reservation information (where they list the name of the resort and the dates, etc)

It wil be 6 figures, both numbers and letters - it will not look like the confirmation number Disney would have given you. But it will work on MDX.

When you order magic bands, make sure you change the shipping address on your Orbitz reservation, because it will default to Orbitz' corporate address in Chicago. Change it to your own address, then select magic bands.

We booked the 20% off deal and are very glad it came along! Allowed us to move to our fav POFQ. Our rep was very friendly in helping us get our conf # and adding DD and even added DH's name.

I just booked with Orbitz thanks to all I read on the DIS. I never would have done it otherwise. I always book directly with Disney. I saved $102 off Disney priced for 2 nights at the Boardwalk for the end of August. I am very excited!! I immediately linked to MDE and it was there. Thanks again for the info and the discount code.

I received an email monday saying that the code: OUTTAHERE will expire this week. This is the 15% off hotel deals. Nothing about the 20% code.

I used this discount on our Aug 9-15 (6 nights) trip. 1BR BWV $1983.77. We were originally going to do AOA for those 6 nights but figured it was worth the extra money for BWV.Those days cover my birthday and DH's so we splurged.

So that's $330/night pre tax? I've never priced out a 1 bdrm so no idea if that's good lol but congrats!:upsidedow

The $330 includes tax. Rack for then inclusive of tax is $612. Better then most points rentals, and get daily cleaning.

Do I have it right that you have to pay in full up front when you book when using Orbitz? I'd book right now if I didn't have to pay in full right now but I don't want that much money tied up right now.

With all taxes and fees I'm getting an average of $371/night for GF club level outer building ($317 + taxes and fees) which is about as low as I figure I'll ever see these rooms. Through Disney they're an average of $447/night ($397 + tax). That's $76 PER NIGHT savings on top of the current discount. And that doesn't even include the Orbucks or ebates rebate making it an even better net price.

The 20% off code is DISCOVER and I believe it expires April 1.
