I went for a midsize :)

GREAT rates, did they include taxes and fees or is this just the base rate?

I reserved a Thrifty minivan for 10 days in August using the Walmart code and got a base rate of $274 and $344 with taxes, etc. By far the best rate I've seen. I also joined bluechip. Comments on Thrifty seem to be good so I guess I'll find out.

Its definately the cheapest known name car rental I found - I have ENT and AAA and a few other corp discounts that was all higher on base rates. I have rented from several places over the years but they kill you on the extra day and I needed a rental for 16 days this time. I had to go with thrifty to keep the total down.

Did you use the code from mousesavers? When you printed out your reservation confirmation did it say something about using a wal-mart credit card? I tried to use the code but it wouldn't take it, but when I printed my confirmation it mentioned a wal-mart card along with a whole sheet of restrictions. Let us know how it turns out because I have never used Thrifty, but the prices were great!

try using the "wmrt" code instead of the "ap10" code

seems to give better rates with blue chip number

I already booked my car with Thrifty, for 12 days, late Aug to early Sept. With taxes and all additional fees, for a compact car was $19.80/day.
I tried every code and book and discount rates I could find, and to no avail, with any other company could I find anything that matched this. I used the WMRT code, and also signed up for a blue chips number.
I think this is an excellent deal and am so happy that I was able to find something so relatively inexpensive.

I have a full-size car reserved with Thrifty for 17 days in August. The total with all taxes is $386. I tried most of the other agencies with the codes listed on Mousesavers and this was by far the best rate. I have had friends use Thrifty in the past month and they were very pleased with the whole process.

The code SAMS give the same rate as wmrt and you can combine a $15 off coupon from Sam's club.

we have a ressie set up thrifty nov29-dec 4th, using the wmrt code from mousesavers, and the numbers came out the same ( who knows why) for the economy/compact VS the midsize, we got the sebring midsize with all feees total is $120.?? for 5 days,
came out $20.49 per day and that is a good size car for us ( dh even said that might be too much car)

way better than anything else i found at the other car rental places online.

The terms say you need a Walmart card. I applied for one on-line and actually received it in about a week so it's no problem. I've got my fingers crossed for a smooth rental since I've never used Thrifty before.

I've never used Thrify before, nor rented offsite, but after reading the great rates, I'm certainly ready to try! Do they have a shuttle that automatically goes from the terminal to their lot periodically? How often do the shuttles run?

May I ask what and where you sign up for this blue chip #? Does it have something to do with Walmart?? Thanks for the info

I was told the last time I called that the shuttles are every half hour. I talked to my dad and they used thrifty the last time and he was VERY please with the service and car.
