Three Things...Gratitude Thread

We rarely eat out, but every Friday we get pizza from a local place that we love. Years ago, we watched Star Trek TNG with our DD on our pizza night, and now we watch Bluey with our DGD.

I like eating dinner in the living room while my DH and I watch TV together.

WDW: too many to mention, but besides character meals with our DGD, we like Skipper Canteen, Vía Napoli, Boma, and Yak & Yeti. Looking forward to finally getting, after so many years, the grilled cheese and tomato soup at Beaches and Cream! I made sure to include that ADR this time since we always seem to miss it for some reason.

The other category I missed (because somehow I posted in the morning but forgot to come back with my own answers two days in a row) - little traditions:

Back when I was driving DS to middle school, Mondays were our Dunkins day. We would leave early and get breakfast and chat a bit. It gave us something to look forward to on Mondays instead of just being the end of the weekend.

Lucky Charms sundaes for breakfast on St. Patrick's Day

Opening one present on Christmas Eve

Saturday my favorite day of the week always has been ! I’m grateful all my cleaning is done and I have no appts today
Free day to do whatever

I’m grateful it’s not raining to take the dog out

I’m grateful I have internet so I can be on the DIS while enjoying my coffee !!

Good morning friends,

I'm humbly grateful for a new day in which I pray to make a faithful and kind difference. I'm also thankful time of month is halfway done. I'm in transition but haven't quite ended cycles yet. Blessing to be healthy. I will be glad to be done with this in God's time.

Dad will be going out this morning briefly and then I pray will get extra rest. Blessed that I will get to spend another day with my dad period.

Grateful extra right now for my cozy blanket and good book. It's a little chilly in here. Hot chocolate a little later will taste even better this morning.

Have a sweet and good Saturday everyone.

Places to eat...
Just about any of the Disney restaurants (NOT Kona Cafe or Sci-Fi Drive-in, though- both are definitely OFF the list forever!). Favorites are Boma, Olivia's, Jiko, Jaleo (technically not Disney, but it's at Disney Springs!)

Thanksgiving at my sister-in-law's/mother-in-law's. MIL died 6 years ago and so did the tradition of big family weekend/dinners (30 or so people) over the holiday.

Meals at our dear friends. These are the people who hired DH and convinced us to move here, whose daughter is DD's best friend, whose names were on DD's emergency contact forms in school (and we were on theirs). We were probably at their house 3 Fridays out of 4 for dinner and game night. They now have a second home on an island, where they spend much of their weekend time, and given proximity and the ferry schedule, DH and I can't get out there very much. We still see them at work, though, but I miss those dinners.

Grateful for today...
It's not going to be in the 80s today, which is nice when you live in houses without a/c. Also when you have painting and home repair work to do!

Spending the day at DD's new house. Appliances are being delivered, and we are going to finish the painting and install some flooring and thresholds. I will miss them when they are gone but they are on month 2 of paying a mortgage for a house in which they don't live... it's time!! Contractors are coming in this week to install appliances and reinforce the bathtub, and then... MOVING DAY!!

I've been up since 4:38am and while I don't love that on a Saturday, I do love sitting alone in my quiet house, drinking coffee all by myself.

You are up even earlier than I was!!! Have a wonderful day!

Hmmmmmm, today…

I’m grateful that DD15s team wants me to pop by practice to take headshots. With DH and DD15 out of town this weekend for a camp, these pics get me out of the house and socializing for a bit.

My home office- I’m in my busiest season at work and I have so much I need to get done. So I’m grateful I can just walk across the hall to work and take breaks in the comfort of my home today. It used to be so miserable having to go into the actual office at times like this.

I have to roll out of bed soon, but I’m grateful for this moment where I’m curled up in bed with the dog and posting on here.

It's been a whole week! And, weirdly, it feels even longer.

Hope you're all doing well. 😘

Today's Topic (Sat, 9/21) - 3 things you're grateful for about today.

1) It has been a hunkering day and I'm grateful for the comfortable home I have for hunkering. 🏡

2) Sitcoms. I'm rewatching New Girl. I like having a sitcom on the go to dip into here and there. I've watched a few today! :happytv:

3) Autumn sunshine. 🌞 In some ways, I'm not ready for summer to end, not least because we didn't have a very summery summer! Still, I do love autumn, especially a sunny autumn. ...The sun low in the sky, meaning the light hits differently. ...The feeling of a new year - a new leaf, while the old leaves fall!! 🍂🍁 ...Freshness in the air. ...Crunchy leaves under foot. ...Jumpers(sweaters) and boots, but, hopefully, not quite coat weather yet.

Extra evening hug to all and thank you as always for sharing heartfelt replies. I so look forward every morning to this thread. My sleep cycle is still out of whack which is why I usually post very early. I do get a good 8-9 hours a day.
I truly believe once I am fully recovered my cycle will normalize again. Have a great night everyone and sweet dreams.

Today:
Grateful that it is the International Day of Peace and that there are people in the world who dedicate their lives to working for peace.

Today is also the 21st of September and I’ve been singing the Earth, Wind, and Fire song all day. :)

Today is Stephen King’s 77th birthday. (Yes, it’s on my calendar) I am very grateful for his existence.

It’s not winter 🤣🤣

I try to enjoy fall and i do love the trees changing color / I’d say the temps cooling off but here it’s not the case - still in the 90s with high humidity so it’s just like Summer except leaves are falling - but there’s where my fall enjoyment starts to wain as everything will look dead soon and it will get cold 🥶

Fall food traditions - once it does cool off - chili / roast - soups - pumpkin bread / pies - squash - / mummy dogs / I do love the fall foods !! Very grateful for the hearty fall meals

Decorations- it’s the start of the glitter holidays !!!! From now until Easter all deco seems to have glitter on it - your house will be sparkling with some kind of glitter for the next several month !!! I enjoy decorating for fall - I leave my fall deco up until after Thanksgiving - then I search the house to find all the items the cat 🐈‍⬛ took to play with - acorns / leaves / branches etc - this year will be fun I have 2 kittens both little thieves🤣🤣🤣

Mums - my favorite ❤️ fall flower !!! Hearty and usually last up through Thanksgiving! I’m very grateful my boss always orders over a - 100 HUGE mums and we can take all we want after our event !! I have at least 6 down for me although my coworker is trying to get me to take more 🤣🤣 I’ll be lucky 🍀 to get the 6 in my vehicle they are huge !! I’m very grateful to get them as they are gorgeous!! I love all the colors you can get in mums !!!

I’m grateful this year I ordered me some fall shirts to wear - trying to be festive!! They are strictly fall not Halloween 🎃 I am waiting for it to cool off so I can wear them I’d be really grateful if it would cool off a little bit !! 90s are a bit much for fall !!

Happy Fall Y’All !!! 🍁🍂🍁🎃

Happy Fall, friends:grouphug:

Thanksgiving is special to me because it's a day when I give God thanks in an extra way for His Presence in my life and my dad and closer friends and other family He has trusted me to love and care for. Give Thanks is a favorite hymn of mine.

Christmas, my favorite time of year for the miracle to me that the Advent season is, being closer.

Soup, hot chocolate tasting better and being cozy at home extra meaningful.
