Three Things...Gratitude Thread

U - Umpires - Baseball and Softball games can’t happen without them. They take a lot of abuse, but their love for the game keeps them coming back. So, thank you to them.
I feel bad for the umps. I have seen the abuse firsthand and a ton on social media. Just not right.

There was one ump several years ago that would engage the parents well before the game and during warmups in a humorous way that definitely lessened the animosity should he make a bad call. Very smart dude.

Up: one of my favorite movies and soundtracks

Fall: even though I am retired, I spent too many years going to school and teaching to not think of the fall as a new beginning, much more than January 1st

Oranges: that’s how I start my day, even before my coffee.

Good Wednesday Morning!

I’m not gonna lie - I love fried food- I really do. I try to avoid it, but sometimes I’m weak and indulge without guilt - LOL!

#1 - Corn Dogs - I love a good deep fried corn dog, especially at a carnival - so good!

#2 - Funnel Cakes or Elephant Ears - They are the taste of summer for me. Love love love them!

#3 - Fried Seafood - I love my seafood to be fried. Served with a big baked potato and a cold beer - so good!

O- Orange!!! As in the Syracuse variety. Although, I do also really like the color and like some foods where orange is an accent or enhancement. My brother’s school also uses the color, so orange is also a color that unites us…and made it easier for my parents to buy clothes that would support us both.
GO ORANGE GO!!! (Stupidest mascot ever, but I think we've talked about that before, hahaha!)

FRIED CLAMS!! I love whole-belly fried clams!!! I didn't used to like the bellies but my great grandmother loved them. We'd sit on the porch at the cottage in Maine and share: She'd eat the bellies, I'd eat the necks. Fond memory, for sure.

All other fried seafood! Scallops, shrimp, calamari, oysters, haddock... gimme a good Fisherman's Platter any day (but TMI do not block my path to the bathroom... bariatric surgery makes eating any fried food a gamble some days...)

Fried chicken, specifically the dark meat quarter (thigh/leg). I love good fried chicken but will eat KFC in a pinch (it's actually my family stress go-to... a bucket for dinner will show up at funerals, in labor and delivery rooms, etc). We are headed to NOLA next week to see my sister/BIL and a visit to "Da Wabbit" for fried chicken is already on the schedule!

OMG bring on the fried clams!!! I’ll take a couple platters thank you very much!!!
I’ll take a side of fried oysters some popcorn shrimp throwing some calamari some fried cod side of french fries the one time I eat coleslaw has some corn on the cob we might as well do a New England boil and while we’re at it let’s have some lobster but we’re not frying that we boil them and then when we’re done we’ll have lobster rolls❤️❤️

You had me at fried clams ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Burritos I love those tiny little burritos fried
Tacos I love those tiny little tacos fried

French fries - I love my french fries fried

Just about any food you can get like at a carnival that they fry and they fry everything

Mushroom
Pickles

I will try just about anything fried

Now I’m at an age where my system is not agree with the above statement but I still do it just not in huge quantities unless it’s seafood and I’m all in!!! or Mexican or Tex-Mex all in !!!

Very grateful for fried food even though my system says no it can just shut up 🤣🤣

🤣🤣
We had lobster rolls last night for supper! Lobster is $6.99 a pound at the grocery store this week!!! Not my preferred place to purchase lobster, but they were alive and kicking, until they were steamed (free of charge). It was delish!

The seafood here is aweful I just don’t eat it I gave up - I only eat it when I’m by the coast !!! Since I live in the middle of the Country you can tell me all the live long days it’s flown in fresh but it’s not
I will order lobsters overnight to my house every once in a while for a treat those are live and delicious 👍❤️❤️❤️ then I make lobster rolls ❤️❤️❤️❤️

And similar to @slo's funnel cakes, the "sugar waffles" we used to get at the fair when I was a kid. ~

Those look a lot like the bunuelos we get here!

Fried fish- Fried flounder was one of my favorites as a kid. Fish and chips style fried cod is also up there.

Cheese curds- I love how many places have started offering them as an alternative to fries.

Disco Fries- The focus is really on the cheese and gravy, but you can’t have disco fries without fried French fries.

I can’t eat fried foods anymore, but there are a few that I will have small bites of when I am at WDW :)
Fried mozzarella sticks
Fish and Chips
French fries in any shape or form! (Poutine, cheesy or just as a side)
Honorable mention to breakfast potatoes, especially cheesy ones
