Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Happy Monday and July to all :)

Promise of a new day, a blessed breath, and for me also the joy I pray of going forward to, for, and with God alongside my beloved dad.

Early morning praise and quiet is so healing. Breakfast is my favorite meal as it extra reminds me of the joy each new day is and that I have the privilige to make a tiny kind difference in faith in the world.

Checking this thread and the kindness one mean a lot to me each day. I remember God gave my beloved late grandma and I a couple of years as neighbors in a small town. Grandma and I during this time would have breakfast for dinner every Monday night at a local restaurant. We always had the same meals. We had two regular lovely waitresses both of whom shared the first name Melissa and who didn't need to ask for our orders.

Grandma became especially close to one Melissa. Grandma's needs increased she was supposed to use a cane or better walker for balance. My beautiful grandma didn't always care to do that! I will always cherish one of the Melissa's asking grandma to please take care of herself because she (Melissa) needed to see grandma the following week.

In a similar way, it means a lot to me to check in here every day because each of you matter to me. I thank you for the faith, kindness, and cheer you each spread including to me. God Bless you dear friends. Thank you.

P.S. I came back to add an acts of kindness movie recommendation that I think all of you would enjoy. It's free to watch with a free account on Redeem Tv. A Promise to Astrid. The movie is said to be based on a true story by the same name by Michael Tourville. PM me me should you watch the movie. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Whew…as much as I love it here in CO, the sun rises an hour earlier and always finds a way to creep into the room before I’m ready. I guess I’ll do the Colorado edition.

1. Best view- there’s little to no haze in the mornings, so it’s a much nicer view of the front range. I’m sitting here, waiting for everyone else to finish getting ready while looking out on the foothills and some of the peaks that always keep some of their snow. I really would like to retire here and have a view like this every morning.

2. Animals- While we had a day off yesterday from most softball things and got a later start (earliest passes I could secure), we had a really good afternoon for animals in Rocky Mountain National Park. That being said, morning is usually the best for wildlife viewing…especially in summer.

3. Dry conditions- the mountains are kind of like the FL coast. The summer afternoons and early evenings are often punctuated by storms (sometimes with lots of lightning and hail), but mornings are often clear. Edit- just after typing this, we had showers come through. Although, it did make a nice rainbow.

Honorable mention-hot air balloons…this is our third morning in about a week to have several dotting the early morning sky. Just adds to the beauty.

Mornings...

I love how peaceful it is in my house when I am the only one up. Yes, there are other times when I'm the only one around, but the peace and quiet of the early morning, when everyone else is still asleep, is special to me.

Coffee... Gotta have it. The day doesn't start off right without a cup or two of coffee.

I'm grateful that my flexible schedule allows me to sit in bed in the morning, drink my coffee, and catch up on the news, my favorite morning talk shows, and the DIS!

Happy Canada Day!

Being retired, my mornings begin whenever I want them to! (unless I have an appointment). I enjoy sipping my morning cup of coffee while I listen to NPR and the BBC, read, and do all my online games and social media. (I don’t always get to all my SM, as evidenced by this late entry)
I love mornings at WDW, especially when I am the first one up and organizing our day. It is pretty much the only place I wake up early! :)
I was very grateful for the break in the heat that we got today. When I heard on the radio that it was only in the 60’s, I opened all my windows. What a treat!

Good Tuesday Morning

U - Umpires - Baseball and Softball games can’t happen without them. They take a lot of abuse, but their love for the game keeps them coming back. So, thank you to them.

F - Friends - I’m looking at all of you today. It’s amazing how much we can care about each other without meeting each other in person. Thank you all for being my DIS friends ❤️

O - Oak Tree (ours to be specific) - We have a big oak tree in the backyard that really shades the back of the house. It also gives DD20 privacy in her bedroom when her window is open during cooler weather. It’s a big beautiful tree.

U - I am grateful that I feel I have been unstoppable personality - life throw a lot of things at you - I try not to give up - oh it can get hard - but I just have something in me that says don’t do it don’t let them get you and I just get get up grab my coffee and prove them wrong ! Not saying I always succeeded at everything I do but I give it my best shot! It’s trial & error I give myself an A for effort ! And I encourage my friends to do the same.

F - friends you can’t go through life without friends you can try but it’s not gonna be very pleasant I’m especially grateful for the ones that have stuck with me through thick and thin
And I really appreciate the ones I have made on this thread and on the boards it’s really something to make friends with people that you have virtually never met and then come to care about them I’m very grateful to have gotten opportunity to have such wonderful people in my life - very grateful

O - opportunities - I’m grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given in life even for the ones that didn’t look like opportunities but turned out to be

Fresh Air. I really like having windows open and fresh air blowing through the house. Or just getting out into the fresh air.

Out of Africa soundtrack. I've mentioned it before, I know, but it's especially nice to listen to in the summer.

U- I’m tempted to say Urgent Care, since I just went to one while we’re on the road, but UTAH is more fun. It’s home to five stunning National Parks, it’s got great ski areas, and it’s a great gateway to other areas that are fun/interesting.

F- Fireworks 🎆 While Disney has pretty much “ruined” them for me, because I don’t think anyone does them better, they’re always fun to watch. I’m trying to figure out where we want to go to see them on the 4th. Our games should be done that day by noon and there are several displays near our hotel. We should also have a decent view of Boulder’s display from our hotel room. I have enough patriotic music in my playlist to do my own soundtrack. I guess we’ll see what the team or club is doing.

O- Orange!!! As in the Syracuse variety. Although, I do also really like the color and like some foods where orange is an accent or enhancement. My brother’s school also uses the color, so orange is also a color that unites us…and made it easier for my parents to buy clothes that would support us both.
