Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Morning!

Tough to narrow this topic down to three…..

#1 - I’m grateful for Downton Abbey (TV & 2 movies) - my most favorite TV show. I’ve watched the series 3 times and I’ll be watching a 4th time soon. When I get tired of this crazy world we have now, I need to return to Downton.

#2 - I’m grateful for the High School Musical movies - these are movies that my two girls and I used to have so much fun watching together. We would sing along and the girls would dance. Many great memories come flooding back when I think of these movies.

#3 - I’m grateful for The Chosen - there is absolutely nothing better than The Chosen to make someone feel even closer to Jesus. If you haven’t watched The Chosen, please do, you will love it - watching The Bible come to life is amazing - it’s so well done.

#4 - I have to add a bonus with all the Harry Potter movies - my New Years Day is always my Harry Potter day - I’m grateful to escape to my favorite wizarding world.

Good Morning Friends :grouphug:

I thought of another "P" which can be an answer for today's topic, too, Price is Right, a show dad and I enjoy watching together daily. We DVR it.

Touched by an Angel is a special show for me all these years later. I do have seasons 1-7 on DVD. Not a fan of the last 2 seasons. For a time, I did go to church with Della Reese and was blessed to know both her and her husband a little bit. Beautiful reminder of God's Presence with me always and that I have the privilege of serving Him in so many capacities both right now in human life and one day as called as His Angel. He is with me always.

Some favorite Hallmark Channel movies are: A Gift of Peace, The Blessing Bracelet, Holly and Ivy, A Gift to Remember, and many others!

Growing up, I overall enjoyed Family Ties because it showed a family that when it came down to it, truly card about each other. I also loved the framed picture's introduction.

Movies/TV Shows:
1. Mr. Rogers Neighborhood: I loved Mr. Rogers when I was a child. He was truly an amazing man.
2. MASH—we often watched it as a family. My mom loved it.
3. Lion King—oldest DD’s favorite. I think I had it memorized when she was little. We named our dog Nala after the Nala in the movie.

Decorating - my house - table / mantle etc - themes for decorating- I like to change it up
My Aunt instilled doing crafts - all different kinds when we were little kids it was great fun she was had a project for us to do and she babysat us gave me a love of doing crafts and I’ll be great at it but I like trying them
Cooking - I like to experiment and see how it goes sometimes you get a winner others not so much ! But it’s fun to try ! As I’ve gotten older I’m getting more winners I’ve weeded out the bad stuff🤣🤣🤣

Music...I love all types of genres
Cooking...there are so many different ways to make things and I love tweaking recipes
Wood Flowers...I used these for my wedding and they come in all shapes and sizes and all white...I loved being able to play around with different paints to get unique colors for my wedding that real flowers simply didn't exist in

Yesterday's TV shows:

1. Parenthood
2. This is Us
3. Shawshank Redemption

Creative Things:

1. Music
2. Photography - I can't do anything fancy with it, but I hope to learn some day
3. Decorating - I'm not good at it, but I definitely appreciate good arrangements of things. When we moved, I actually hired someone to decorate my house lol. I'd never splurged on anything like that before, but I was frozen trying to nail into my brand new walls. Now, I do a decent job of changing it up for the seasons, holidays, etc - but she definitely gave me a springboard to go from! In the end it was definitely worth it for me!

Movies/TV Shows

...I'm struggling to narrow it down!

I'm grateful for films and shows that I enjoy re-watching. Things like NCIS, The Bourne Trilogy; Indiana Jones; James Bond; Jumanji; ET; The Choice; White Christmas; Bringing Up Baby; Home Alone; Modern Family; FRIENDS; M*A*S*H; The Great British Bake Off etc. etc. etc.!

Creative Things

I think that creativity is underrated. It's less encouraged in schools and, generally, people are scared to create in case they... 'fail'.

I like the idea that you can be creative in anything: -

Changing up a recipe; rearranging a room; experimenting with growing vegetables; making new playlists; trying a new updo; blending essential oils; taking a new route somewhere; even changing your shoe laces

When I started teaching, another member of staff commented that teaching younger children is coming up with a hundred ways to teach ten numbers!!

I've always loved coloring and related things. (As a kid, my Spirograph and Fashion Plates got a lot of use!)

When DS was young, I did a lot of scrapbooking. I'm grateful that I had the creative outlet then, and that we have the lasting memories now.

I'm grateful for live theater. I enjoyed doing a couple of plays in school, and watching my nieces' productions through the years. I've been lucky enough to attend a couple of professional ones as well.

Costume design- I volunteered for about a decade with the local ballet company as their costume mistress. I love making beautiful costumes, designing and embellishing them from my own thoughts.

Cooking- Give me a recipe and let me loose! Baking is different, but I also really enjoy cake decorating.

Live theatre- Love to attend, and especially enjoy musicals.

:cool1: TGIF! :cool1:

#1 - I’m grateful for AllEars.net - they‘re so good with keeping everyone updated on Disney news.

#2 - I’m grateful for guardian angels - I think a lot of us can think of a time that we were helped and protected by one of them.

#3 - I’m grateful to have an attic - I’ll be crawling up there this weekend to get my Fall & Halloween decorations.
