Three Things...Gratitude Thread

My house...
Plenty of space, so when DD/SIL's rent went to $1300, we had space for them to move in with us. We had 2 bedrooms, a living room, a storage room, and a bathroom that we never used. Plenty of space for all 5 of us.

We are about 1/10th of a mile from "town" so we can walk in for dinner, a visit to the taproom, etc.

Hmmm... we can afford the mortgage and the appraised value has almost doubled since we bought the place.

From yesterday:
Three things you can see-

1. I'm grateful for my laptop
2. I'm grateful for DH and DS
3. I'm grateful for my piano

Three things about my house:

1. I'm grateful that it's paid for!
2. I'm grateful for my kitchen with lots of kitchen cabinets. Even though I'm not a great cook, I love kitchen gadgets, so I love that I have lots of places for them!
3. I'm grateful for all the storage in my house. So much more than our last house!

It's...IMG_0826.jpeg
(which happens to be where I live) so...

Today's Topic (Thur, 8/17) - 3 things you're grateful for about your state (or province, or whatever your country is divided into - please tell us what they're called!)

Happy Thursday everyone

INDIANA

Quickie answers today….

#1 - Home of the Indianapolis 500 (my DH has been going for 40 years)

#2 - We have a beautiful change of all 4 seasons

#3 - My favorite thing….we have no earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, extreme temperatures, extreme floods, hurricanes, tsunamis, wild fires, obscene amounts of snow and excessive tornadoes. Don’t get me wrong, Indiana obviously does get some things I mentioned, but not like other states.

This one is hard as I am from Massachusetts, too! However, we've lived in Maine for the past 20 years, and when I was a kid we spent every summer at my grandfather's cottage in Maine. Hmmm... which to choose? I'll go with Massachusetts, because that's where I still consider myself to be "from."

BOSTON. I love this city, all the things to see and do, places to eat and party, and then there's the Red Sox!

I love the diversity. Big cities, small cities, country space, seashore, touristy spots (like Salem, Plimoth/Patuxet, etc).

I love the size. Mass is small enough that you can easily get to all these places without spending hours in the car. From where I live in Maine, we have to drive 3+ hours just to get OUT of Maine. Feels like a day-trip before we actually start our trip to wherever we are headed, hahaha!

I have a FREE world class zoo - it’s wonderful to go to

We great parks and trails to go to
We get all four seasons sometimes in one day

There’s plenty of touristy things to do here
Right in town or you can drive a little bit and go to the Ozarks they have a nice huge lake down there if you’re into boating

We cover most sports with the exception of football we had a team they left - we recently got a soccer team you can cross the river and you can get NASCAR and NHRA
We used to have a really good baseball team they’re not doing very well this year there’s always next year our hockey team usually does pretty well we bleed blue and have a blue note
except in the summer when we bleed red
We like Cardinals

We have a famous arch it’s a national Monument

I am not from this state but I grew up in the state I relate more to this state than the state I was born in
The only major drawback it snows and we get our ice if not for that it would be nice

We are known as the show me state can you guess what state I am in??

I am from Pennsylvania.

1. First off I like the name—just sounds really cool.
2. Four seasons—I don’t love the really cold days of winter and don’t love the really hot days in summer, but I appreciate all 4 and wouldn’t want to live anywhere that didn’t have it.
3. My area has great education, health care and sports teams (except baseball—we have it, not great).

Arch and cardinals tell me Missouri and I think that’s the “show me” state?

CA here I come? Or lol here I always have been? :D I was born in NY. We moved out here to LA when I was less than 1 year old so technically I am a CA lady through and through. CA is just home.

Weather overall is such a blessing to not be truly freezing (enough at times for me as I get cold easily) or super-duper humid.

Dad and I do keep in prayer being able to move (very locally). Our current area is as I said yesterday very conveniently located.

Ok, Missouri!

I am very happy to be a Jersey Girl!

Lived in Trenton for an awhile, and went to re-enactment of Washington crossing the Delaware. We have a lot of history and can visit many historic sites in just a few hours drive. Plus the Statue of Liberty is easily accessible by boat from Cape Liberty NJ.

Jersey farm products are delicious, and our home garden is very productive with delicious fruits and vegstables.

The Jersey shore! We also have a free zoo that’s excellent! The Cape May County Zoo!

I'm in Illinois, but not Chicago, so I'll go with things in downstate Illinois

1. I'm grateful for the four seasons (except when winter gets bad)

2. I'm grateful for living in an agricultural area to get to see the growing seasons

3. I'm grateful for nice state parks

I'm also very close to Missouri (about 30 minutes from the state line), so I could have used @WDWEPCOT's answers too - we love the Cardinals, the St Louis zoo, the Blues and the Arch too!!

:rotfl: We occasionally get that here in Mass, too.

1) I love being close to Boston. I lived in rural upstate NY as a kid (and loved that for a whole host of other reasons) but we weren't near any big cities. I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring things like museums, the aquarium, etc.

2) All the history that happened here!

3) Nearness to the ocean. The beach is less and hour's drive from me. I don't take advantage of it as much as I used to when DS was young, but it's nice to be able to go when I want to.
