Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Beverly- We met in kindergarten, and we now are 76. How did that happen? We live In NJ, she lives in FL, and we see each other more often in WDW, but other places as well.

Nancy, my sister. She’s 5 1/2 years younger than me. She’s a great friend and I am blessed to have her in my life.

My College Friends, fellow Math Majors. Our strong ties were forged as we studied for tests and we made it last!
I also have a friend from kindergarten!! It’s so special to grow up together and be forever friends. We are in our 50’s.

(Tues, 6/6) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with SC or SK
1. School teachers
2. Science
3.

(Wed, 6/7) - 3 Sweet Treats You're Grateful For
1. Dark chocolate
2. Chocolate ice cream
3. Cookies

3 friends (from now, from childhood, whenever...) you are grateful for
1. Katherine - childhood friend whom I haven't seen since 6th grade when she moved to California, but we kind of kept in touch and found each other on FB
2. Jeanne - Friend who has been through a similar "transformation" as me, from being raised in an extremely conservative culture (her more so than me) to... discovering that the world isn't as simple as we once thought.
3. My oldest brother and my mom - living together I can say we've honestly become friends in the best possible way.

And... since it doesn't fit any of the categories, here's my bonus one. My second adventure with DASA, climbing at a local indoor rock climbing gym. I made two climbs with a LOT of help from my belayers (the person on the ground who controls the rope and can bring you down, hold you in place, and even help you up a bit). My arms were total and complete jello by the end, and they still are just a bit sore, but I loved it, overall!

And 10 edits later, I finally have the pictures in here so they aren't huge and there aren't any repeats. Sheese. lol

Friends:

1. Abby - she is my best friend. We talk multiple times a day. She gets me through and through. Our husbands have become friends as well! 🙌

2. Emily - my other best friend. She moved a few hours away, and we rarely see each other. But one of those friends where you can pick right back up where you left off. She also tells it like it is. Everyone needs a brutally honest friend! 🤣

3. My mom. She is also my best friend. We had a rough time in my teens and 20s, but way past that now. I cherish our relationship! ❤️ Editing to add she is also an amazing Grandmother!

Friends:
1. Today I am thankful for DD’s volleyball friends. She has 2 friends from her team spending the night here tonight celebrating school being done. They are all from different school districts and DD was the last to finish. I like that she has several groups of friends completely separate from each other.
2. Neighbors—we socialize a lot with our neighbors and I consider many of them friends. Many of us have raised/are raising our kids together and we show up for each other when one of us needs something/someone. Recently we were sitting around a fire joking about all going to the same 55+ Community in a few years.
3. Couple Friends: DH and I are having dinner with another couple Saturday night. I do enjoy getting together over dinner and a drink or two and catching up.

We have done this and we CAN do it again and again !!! ❤️ we all are Disney Grateful most of the time ❤️🤣🤣🤣

Disney Cruiseline - I never thought I would be a cruise person but I’m a HUGE lover of Disney Cruises !! I’m grateful for each cruise I’ve taken and ALL the wonderful Peeps I’ve met and made friends with ! I’ve taken away such awesome memories from my cruises !! I’m looking forward to adding more !!
DVC - it may not be for everyone but I love it ! Resale or Direct is your personal choice I’m not judging not my business - but I loved my DVC ! Once the dust settles on my upside down life right now I plan to own again - I’ll be Johnny Cash my ownership - one piece at a time !! Tiny pieces 🤣🤣
My opinion but with the prices of hotel rooms or cost to rent points - I’d rather own my own ! YMMV - I’ve had so amazing DVC trips and again made friends and have great memories I’m so grateful
DIS BOARDS - I can’t be more grateful to have found this website ALL those YEARS ago - I lurked for far too many years before I signed up and started posting - my resale DVC purchase is what got me posting - back when resale was just like direct ! I’ve made so many friends and learned so much about Disney - but it’s the support and the kindness I’m most grateful for ! This Board is full mainly of kind hood hearted people ❤️ I’m very grateful to know you and chat with you daily - I look forward to this every day and enjoy it tremendously !
So very grateful !! Blessings to you All ❤️❤️❤️

Disney Things:
1. I second the DVC @WDWEPCOT! Also agree it’s not for everyone, but we love ours and are grateful we bought when it was way more affordable. We often use it to go to Hilton Head or Vero Beach—a more laid back vacation laced with some Disney Magic. Hope to try Aulani someday as well.
2. Disney Movies—a big part of my kids’ childhoods. Oldest DD was obsessed with The Lion King when she was little, but all 3 loved so many of the movies.
3. Soarin’—My favorite ride. I could ride it all day long I like it so much.

Catching up...

FRIENDS
I'm grateful for a particularly friendly neighbor. And here's to all friendly, peaceful and considerate neighbors, generally!

For family friends who are more like family.

For an old friend I haven't seen in more than a decade, but who I'm going to see very soon!

DISNEY

The beautifully themed and manicured, escapist bubble that is the WDW resort.

WDW again: Fort Wilderness. ... Also, anyone else remember River Country? I'm so grateful I was able to go there a few times. Such a lovely place.

The Disney company of the late 80s and early nineties, when WDW was soarin' (;);)) and Disney movies were really brought back to life.

Big Thunder Mountain!

The Carousel of Progress, the PeopleMover, Space Mountain, the Haunted Mansion, the monorail, travelling around Seven Seas Lagoon, Test Track, Living with the Land, Philharmagic, IASW, Rock'n'Roller Coaster, Dinosaur! etc. etc. etc.

Sorry, got carried away there! :rotfl:

And, bringing the two together: DISney friends!:hug::hug:

Cheer for our friend :donald:and that he brings extra fun to so many! I would enjoy getting my picture taken one day with him, Daisy, and my dad.

Candlelight Processional.

::MickeyMo::MinnieMowho started it all! How I absolutely look forward to one day God willing, dad and I being able to comfortably and safely go back to DL and absolutely try to at last get a picture taken together with both our favorite mice.

Just being at Disneyland brings me a smile!

All of you, of course, who God has connected me with through this great site.

Grateful for the Disboards! I love coming to this forum for Disney and for so much more!

Grateful for the fun memories that Disney has given over the years. I've been to WDW, DL and Aulani with my kids and would love to visit more places with them even though they're all adults now. Would love to be able to visit with future grandbabies (if I'm so lucky)!

Grateful for the Disney movies of the past that we had on VCR tapes and DVDs that the kids would watch over and over!

How do I narrow it down to three?
1. The Disney animated movies of the 1990s and 2000s. I watched these movies with DD and my 2 nieces, and we fell in love with Disney- giving us memories above and beyond the parks, things we still hold close in our hearts. I still tear up when Ariel sings, "bright young women, sick of swimming, ready to staaaaaand..." These girls were my babies, and are now young women, standing on their own (and here come the tears again...).
2. A place to go for a true, peace of mind vacation. People ask how I can go, over and over, time and again. "But you've done that." Yup... as the bumper magnet says, "Been there, done that, GOING AGAIN." In our famil, I am the organizer, the planner, the person who holds the strings for everyone's individual balloon. I need a vacation, a break, and there are many vacations where I am just as tense during and after the trip as I was before. Getting places, being on time, finding things to do, hoping the plans I made meet everyone's expectations, etc. It's all very stressful. I know that the minute I walk on to Disney property, I am going to have a vacation. I will have a mental break, a fulfilling, emotional (in the best way) experience, everyone will have a good time. I'll get the vacation I need, from the moment we drive under the signs on the roadway.
3. Disney has something for everyone. Even DH, who is in the "BTDT, explain again why you want to go again" group enjoys a Disney trip. There are a variety of attractions geared to a variety of age groups, for those of different abilities, having different interests. Heck, I get motion sick in the bathtub and there are still things I love to do and can do at Disney (Uni was FAR more challenging in this aspect). I appreciate that Disney still provides family entertainment.

Regarding attractions? 1. Shows- Lion King, Beauty and the Beast being my favorites. Unfortunately Tarzan Rocks was canceled- it was my all time favorite.
2. Big Thunder Mountain- My idea of a thrill ride, one of the very few roller coasters anywhere that I can ride and enjoy- I LOVE BTMRR!!
3. Haunted Mansion- Because what's not to love in a dark, cool, relaxing ride with GHOSTS!!

DISNEY
1 The magic!! From the characters, the rides, shows, music, castle, Main Street, resorts, and ….
2 …..the night time show at MK! The fireworks, music and projections on the castle.… my very favorite thing to do at WDW.
3. Wonderful memories made on many family trips. My adult daughter and I are going on our first trip just us two girls this fall. It’s our happy place 😃

Leebee, I also love that Disney offers something for everyone and can bring a smile to all. Plus, of course, God used these boards to connect me to you and other kind Disboard friends.
Favorite rides such as:dumbo: pooh:and Small World🛳️Simple blessing of being at DL with my beloved dad and other family, and friends. As I shared this morning, it truly does make me smile to be at DL.

:donald: Family memories! - We've had some great trips, and I'm glad I framed pictures, brought home souvenirs, and wrote down highlights. I love being reminded of those special times.

:donald: That Disney planning lead me here. - The DIS is so much more than just a place to get information, and I really do love it here!

:donald: My Dad does the best Donald Duck voice!
