Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Everyday things

Radio - especially the stations without commercials.

Sunglasses - practical, of course, but also great to hide behind sometimes! 😎 :D

Freezers - for leftovers, batch cooking, handy ready-to-use ingredients like freshly grated cheese and ICE CREAM!

1. Shoes—I have always loved being barefoot, but now need to wear shoes due to foot pain. I would still prefer to be barefoot if I could, but shoes are necessary and I am grateful they keep me mostly pain free.
2. Contacts—wearing glasses right now due to springtime allergies, but I love my contact lenses.
3. Electric toothbrush—hygienists always comment on how easy my cleanings are—that didn’t happen before I had an electric toothbrush.

Every day items

1. Blow dryers - cause I look crazy if I don't use one
2. My Ninja all in one toaster/air fryer/roaster/oven - I've had mine for almost 5 years and it is fantastic still. Use it every day.
3. Cell phone - connect to outside world, Google, clock, alarm, calendar. It probably isn't really underappreciated and is appreciated, but we have gotten to where it is just an extension of ourselves.

I was just going to say OMG if I HAD to make my own clothes 😱😱😱😱😱😱ah no !! Sewing not my thing !!! I remember the stuff my mother used to make us wear !! 🤮not a fan !!! 🤣🤣🤣
When I was in my teens and twenties I made a lot of my own clothes. I liked having things no one else did, and the clothes fit better than ready made, which I often had to have tailored anyway. I made my own prom gown, and then altered it into a regular dress afterwards. I was in the process of making my own wedding dress when the engagement broke off. I kind of miss sewing. . .

Everyday things . . .

A/C - I can’t imagine living in Florida without it (although I know people did)

Garage door opener

Grocery Stores

Absolutely a bathroom, DaisyDuck and that it's indoors!

Wow, good for you, Fla4fun!

I forgot to say earlier to you Slo, how I so appreciate my pillow! It's been with me forever yet still is the most comfortable place for me to lay my head. When I used to travel some, I would always try to bring it with me such as to DL for overnights. I'm grateful also for the blessing of having a safe and warm🛏️too.

I hope this finds all of you having a great afternoon :)

I do know how to alter items - being short you have to or it just cost way too much to pay someone to do everything - I only pay for really nice things like evening gowns - those I won’t mess with - slacks and things like that I’ll do
But making something from a bolt of cloth - unless it’s a pillowcase ah no ! I’m impressed with anyone who has that talent !!!

Such great items - so many things to be thankful for!

1. candles - I love the way they make my house smell!
2. blankets - I love putting one over my lap while I watch tv or surf the internet on my laptop!
3. remote controls - I love that it's so simple to change the channel or adjust the volume on our tv!

Funny store about remote controls - DH calls them wireless remotes. The kids always laugh at him and he's like - they used to have wires lol! It's been a day or two :rotfl2:

I'm a big fan of couch blankets, Newski_mom! My ☃️print blanket has sure helped keep me cozy this winter. :) on "wireless remotes," that is funny. Reminds me of another everyday gratitude: being able to laugh and I pray share a kind smile with someone whether in person, virtually in some way especially this thread :), or through a card.Thank you all for making a kind faithful difference🌼

3. Jessie Ownes winning 4 gold medals in Berlin, right under Hitler's nose

(Fri 4/21) - 3 under-appreciated jobs you're grateful people do

Nurses ('cause my brother is one!)
But honestly, so many of you mentioned a lot of other great ones... teachers, trash collectors, 911
dispatchers, etc.

(Sat, 4/22) - 3 things in nature you're grateful for
1. Mountains (I wish I lived close to mountains!)
2. Sunrises and sunsets
3. Flowers and trees

(Sun, 4/23) - 3 everyday items you depend on but sometimes forget to be grateful for
