Three Things...Gratitude Thread

(Wed, 3/29) - 3 things you're grateful for beginning with U and/or X
1. X-rays
2. Xylophones (the real ones, not the toy ones... it's the instrument I played in marching band because I didn't think I'd keep up actually marching, and I couldn't "roll" (i.e. rolling out the long notes so it sounds like one long "rolling" note) so I got the only "pit" instrument where you didn't have to roll. lol)
3. Understanding

(Thurs, 3/30) - 3 things you're grateful for made of stone/cement/etc.
1. The Grand Canyon
2. Mountains
3. Monuments

(Fri. 3/31) - 3 things you're grateful for about your childhood
1. My schools! I loved all my teachers, and even the teachers that I didn't have looked out for me. I had an IEP for physical reasons in elementary school, but also was in gifted education, so I got a somewhat unique view of school. And in Jr. High and High School I had 504 accommodations, and everyone was just so understanding and well... accommodating!
2. All my childhood friends who, looking back, would adjust what they did so I could keep up physically
3. Growing up in the middle of the suburbs, but with a very tiny farm that backed up to our property where I got to see cows.
And really so many other things.

3(Sat, 4/1) - 3 Funny Things You're Grateful For
1. Comic strips
2. Funny kid videos
3. Funny animal videos

Every day

1. Play with DD - whether it's listening to a fun audiobook, Barbies, improv games. There is always time for it each day on top of regular parenting and homeschool. The kid just likes to play with everyone.

2. Coffee - DH leaves at 4 am on the weekends so when I get up I have a hot pot made. Drinking some now!

3. Laundry - it never stops, but we have clean clothes to wear that we often take for granted.

Gratitude for everyday things I do:

1) Just waking up and being able to get out of bed and take care of myself on my own is a blessing. I regularly see people half my age who cannot.

2) Being able to pay my bills and still save a little money for vacation and retirement is a blessing today with the cost of things rising so much.

3) I am blessed being able to do the work I do and to help people in significant ways every day. Also blessed to meet so many wonderful everyday people. (Celebrities don’t impress me much.)

Good Sunday Morning!

I’m gonna do a little catch up…..

Funny Things -
#1 - I’m so grateful for DD19 - she makes me laugh so hard. She is the light of my life.
#2 - I’m grateful for my boss - he is very funny too - we laugh a lot every day.
#3 - I’m grateful for comedian Sebastian Maniscalco - this guy is so funny - his standup never gets old and makes me LOL all the time.

Today‘s Topic…..

#1 - I’m grateful for my quiet morning quiet coffee time every morning. I make sure I do this regardless what time I’m leaving the house. So, when we leave at 2:45am in June for our WDW trip, I’ll be up by 1:30am for my coffee and quiet time (even if it’s just 30 minutes) - yes, I’m crazy. For me, it just sets a good tone for the day. Rushing never ever works out well for me.

#2 - I’m grateful for being able to drive places. I’m grateful for my car too.

#3 - I’m grateful for putting on my makeup. I feel so much better after I put on my makeup.

Everyday activities I'm grateful for:

My cat's routine of curling up next to me (or for some reason on my other arm :rotfl: ) while I'm sitting on the couch having coffee in the morning.

My other cat's routine of going out in the yard on her leash on nice days. - It's a calm and refreshing break in my day, and I feel like the sunshine is especially good for my mental health. I'm grateful she pushes me to get outside.

My treadmill and iPad, because a short walk kicks off my evening routine and centers me after a busy day.

Everyday things:

1. Seeing my youngest DS everyday. Since he is going to college locally, I get to see him everyday - I didn't have that with my older two, and I am very grateful for it!

2. My car I drive everyday - usually back and forth to work, but I'm very grateful for it and everywhere it takes me!

3. My comfy seat to watch tv and read the disboards from everyday. Sometimes it's not until later in the evenings, but it's just a winddown time for me!

Today's Topic - 3 Things you're grateful for from the 1960s

(Interpret that however you like - things that were invented then, things that changed then, something you have from then, people who were born then...)

:thanks: to @FlyingDumbo for the decades suggestion (more to come!) and to PBS because watching Call the Midwife this morning led me to pick the 60s. :flower1: :hippie:
