Hope you and your DD have a better day today, WDWEPCOT. I will keep you and her in my thoughts and prayers.

I have not added to thread, but just reading it makes me smile. So many times, the zillion things mentioned on this thread are just passed by. Glasses, simple (and complex) meds like an aspirin or tylenol, clean water........that makes such a difference.

Everybody, keep up the good work, reading all this makes one realize how blessed we are. We may have problems, but we have help around us. And the ability to reach out and support each other

(Today's topic was inspired by my other cat - since one was included in the 3 things I could see yesterday, and I couldn't leave the other one out. 😆 )

1) cats! - I have two, and one is currently sitting on my lap on the front porch, while we listen to the birds. I am very grateful for their presence in my life. :cat: :cat:

2) quokkas - because they always appear to be smiling. I follow an Instagram account dedicated to them, and it's just so cheerful!

3) butterflies - because it always makes me happy to see them fluttering around!

Wild or Domestic ??

I’ve got plenty of both
Except a Bear ❤️ Still waiting to see one - they are close - 10 miles or less so maybe soon

Dog
2 cats
15 plus Deer - I believe I’ve mentioned them on another thread - we’ve had issues - they think they own my yard - my dog seems to think it’s his - mommy dear is like Joan Crawford little witch
3 owls
Bobcat
Cougar
Possum
Skunk
Squirrel - only one very odd
Snakes - various
Lizards
Rabbit - down to one from 6 because of..
Coyote - I’ve seen 6
And I’m sure I’m missing others
I live in huge subdivision - not out in country - but we do have some water and fields not far
Scary taking dog out at night as I never know what I might run into - Joan Crawford deer or coyote or bobcat 😲 or cougar 😲😲
Seen 3 times quickly in passing - all animals - deer / rabbits RAN opposite direction like on fire - don’t know what it was could not get good look :
Deep brown fur - bigger than say lab - slightly taller much fuller - didn’t see tail - not as long as cougar - not sure what it was but the animals were scared to death of it - seen during daylight all 3 times never out in open always walking in amongst the trees - guesses anyone ??? Wish I could get a pic

1. My dog—Nala. She is little and fluffy and the opposite of yappy. Very low key and mellow and always has been.

2. Animal Kingdom Lodge—I love it there for a trip not centered on the parks. I could sit for hours on the balcony just watching the animals. Truly feels like an escape.

3. Birds in my birdbath—also fun to watch.

I’m really struggling today my fellow DIS peeps very rough time - DD has mental illness and she’s not doing well - please pray

I’m grateful she is alive
I’m grateful for the internet
I’m grateful for the DIS
I’m grateful for my phone
I’m grateful for my dog
 From the bottom of my heart, and in the midst of life-altering experience, I understand. Grace and peace.:flower3:

Today's Topic--Animals

1. Our cats (we have 5 indoor, and 5 'outdoor' ones.) They somehow always know when something is wrong, or if I'm in a bad mood. At least 1 of them, sometimes 2, will just jump up in my lap, start purring, and look up at me with their big eyes. It always makes me feel better. Last night I had 4 of them sleeping in various places next to me in bed, lol!

2. Chipmunks--we have several in the yard (despite all the cats, lol), and I love watching them scurry around trying to find nuts, seeds, etc

3. Birds at the feeders or splashing in the birdbaths.

You and your intentions are in my prayers.

Hello all!
@WDWEPCOT our prayers are with you and DD. Your love will help her with her struggle.

Hmm...animals....I am not a big animal fan so let's see:

1. Animal Kingdom Lodge is an awesome place to stay, visit and eat.
2. The Zoo, we love having memberships to walk and enjoy.
3. Whale Watching, one of the best expeditions ever.

I don't have any animals at home as pets but the love I feel from the animals at the shelter is amazing. I think some of them have figured out my schedule and they patiently wait so we can play and spend time together. They don't seem to care if I ever get to cleaning things up, they just want to be loved and I love them dearly. I do have to keep some distance because they get adopted out and some are moved to other facilities so to keep my emotions in check I have to maintain some separation, but their love is addicting all the same.

Animals

Manatees, they are so gentle and so often hurt just by being in their water.
Our dog Gus, and all our beloved pets who have gone.
Our fish in our pond. They inspire peace. Folks walking by often stop to look. Most are goldfish, priced at 5 for $1 because they were “feeders.” Two are koi that workers left with me after they set the pond up one spring.

This picture is from June, 2021, so taken before the plants covered the surface. Plants provide shade and protection from predators.

1.Sea Otters
2.Capybara
3.Wombats

Honorable mentions:
Butterflies(always remind me of my parents)
Quokkas(because they smile)
Red Pandas(because look at them)
So many others-I am just grateful for animals in general-they provide entertainment and are so interesting to learn about....except worms...no thank you to those guys

The animals in my life that I’m grateful for… (sadly 2 are passed away, but I will always be grateful for how they touched my/our life)

The only animal currently in our house - DD19’s Teddy Bear Guinea Pig named Zoe. She is now 6 1/2 years old and she is just delightful (who would think a Guinea Pig would be delightful? Not me, until we bought her for DD’s birthday 6 years ago). My DH is most in love with her and literally goes grocery shopping for her once a week to make sure she has all her favorites from the produce department. He’ll be the most sad when she passes away - she’s his little buddy.
I took this picture a few minutes ago - she’s giving me the stink eye for disrupting her sleep - LOL!

Second…my beloved Sophie that just passed away this past July. She was my baby and I miss her terribly. She was 14 1/2 years old when she passed. I’m looking forward to meeting up with her at The Rainbow Bridge someday.
Below is my last picture of her. She was deaf, in kidney failure and probably had bladder cancer. Poor thing was horribly incontinent and was kept in the kitchen with piddle pads everywhere - her quality of life was not good and she was in a lot of pain. Sometimes doing the hardest thing is the best thing. I love this sweet girl so much - God bless her doggie soul.

Lastly..my protector - my German Shepherd named Sampson. He died 20 years ago at 5 years old from Lymphoma. This picture hangs proudly on my refrigerator and not a day goes by that I stop and look at him. He was the only son I ever had - my boy - I was devastated when he died. I look forward to reuniting with him at The Rainbow Bridge too. Until then, I always feel like a part of him is with me - he was an incredibly special dog.
This picture was taken on his 10 month old birthday - he was my big boy - 130lbs at his healthiest - he was a majestic dog and his bark could be heard blocks away - he was awesome and I 100% believe that he would have severely hurt or killed anyone that would try hurting us, especially my first born DD, who he was very protective of.
