May 2026 Check In Thread

Hyperspace Mountain is expected to run throughout May. There is no formal end date, but the Hyperspace Mountain page on the DLR website lists hours through 5/31.

Happy May trips to those visiting!

I'll continue to keep an eye on changes to refurbs and park hours. I don't expect much to change at this point. We could see movement on Inside Out, Silly Swings, or Buzz Lightyear. All three seem like pretty significant refurbs.

May 22nd through the rest of summer park hours will be daily Midnight closes at DL and 10 for DCA.

This has traditionally been the case during summer. It's now official after originally posting 11 and 9 closes respectively

The entertainment calendar has been updated. Along with the later 10:00 pm DCA closings after 5/22, there is also a 10:15 WOC each night. This applies to every night that is NOT a grad night. Those days still close at 9:00 with one WOC at 9:00.

Looks like they are predicting record breaking heat on Monday. For those in the park, The Opera House and Golden Horseshoe are both good places to take a break from the heat. Even though it is outdoors, Fantasyland Theater is another place to cool off. In DCA, everyone packs into Animation Academy but Philharmagic is also a well air conditioned.

My weather app is showing 85? That’s record breaking? We should come and enjoy it. Gonna be 106 here. 🔥

Exhausting first day of our May trip! But such a good time. May take it easier tomorrow to make sure we head back home rested.

From memory:
  • 8:30am-ish arrive at CA
  • Share breakfast burrito from Smokejumpers. Surprised at how good it was! Would definitely eat again.
  • LL Soarin’
  • LL Goofy Sky School
  • Walk-on Little Mermaid
  • SR Radiator Springs (approx 35 minutes… ride went down for a few minutes)
  • LL Toy Story
  • This is around when I started getting LL’s for Disneyland
  • Made reservation for Carthay Circle Lounge after failed Walk Up List
  • Snack at Pym’s since we had 90 minutes until reservation
  • Animation Academy: Lightning McQueen
  • Buddy Pass Monsters
  • Lunch at Carthay Circle Lounge. As the kids say extremely “mid”. That was a one and done for us. First time in 25 years of visiting CA that we stepped foot in the building!
  • Shopping, dropping off a shirt for embroidery
  • Animation Academy: Donald Duck
  • Animation Academy: Kuzco (finally! My favorite character and have been trying for years)
  • Hotel break
  • LL Space
  • LL Matterhorn
  • Dinner @ Bengal BBQ
  • LL Indy
  • Jungle Cruise
  • LL Haunted Mansion
  • LL BTMRR
  • LL MMRR
  • Picked up dessert (70th Rice Crispy Treat) on the way out
Hit lots of shops throughout the day as well. And one long shot request: my wife loves the Mickey denim jacket. I know it has a big Mickey on the back and says Disneyland under him. We could only find it in Large+ and she is looking for a medium. If you come across a medium tomorrow, let me know where!

DLR May 22-25 as part of a 21 day road trip. Excited to meet up with family for 3 of the 4 days of the visit!

May 22: DTD, Goofy's for dinner
May 23: Start at DL but we have hoppers
May 24: Start at DCA but likely will hop; WoC
May 25: Start at DL

Going to DL tomorrow (5/22). Most of the crowd tracker sites say it won't be that bad tomorrow. I'm a little worried with the new Millennium Falcon Grogu overlay happening that it could be crazy. Obviously LL that ride if possible, but do you think the park is going to be nuts overall tomorrow, or should it be mainly contained to that galaxy's edge area?

It's the Friday night to start a long weekend and all but the lowest annual pass are unblocked. The evening will be crowded, which is typical for Friday nights after work.
