Three Things...Gratitude Thread

All the warm hugs I get from the animals at the shelter during play time. The love they share just can't be replaced with anything. Warms my heart just thinking of them.

Warmth from the outdoor fire pit. I enjoy having neighbors over where we enjoy each others company and catch up.

Warmth from the hot cocoa we enjoy during those warm fire nights.

Warm things . . . Hmmmm . . . Living here we tend to be more grateful for cool things, but I will give it a try.

Cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven and all covered in frosting

A cup of cinnamon spiced tea

My weighted blanket. I don’t get to use it many months out of the year, but I sleep so well when I can use it.

Heated Seats in my car ❤️❤️ I may have mentioned these a time or 20

My furnance !!!!! & space heaters & fireplace ❤️❤️❤️ can’t survive winter without all three

My tankless water heater for my boiling hot showers !!!!

Those wonderful plush throw blankets from Kohl’s ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I may have a few

I have to admit that I like my coffee on the way hot side.

This is a really good one. DW would 100% agree as well
Those wonderful plush throw blankets from Kohl’s ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I may have a few
Blankets from Kohl's, Costco, Home Goods etc. DW, DD25 and DD22 have a few and then some. 🙄

Yeah I went inside Kohl’s Saturday ( HUGE mistake ) I left with a new blanket 🤣🤣🤣 did I need it ? No but it was a Disney Christmas one and just too cute !! Goes great with those towels I grabbed too 🤣🤣🤣🤣 was I in there for towels ? Nope not even close !!! I went in to grab some tights which they didn’t have !!! 🤣🤣🤣 which made me have to go inside Target ( 2nd mistake of the day ) did get the tights and a few other items on clearance!!! I didn’t grab a cart so I could limit myself !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 just getting rights was not going to happen when I HAD to walk through the clearance that was nowhere near the checkout lanes !!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is why I don’t go in stores !!! Towels & blankets I’ve got a problem !!! And clearance - who can pass that up ??? Not me !!!

Good Wednesday Morning!

#1 - Mozzarella Sticks - Whoever decided to take mozzarella cheese, bread it, deep, fry it and serve it with marinara sauce is a genius in my opinion 😂

#2 - Chips & Salsa - I love chips and salsa. When my girls were little, we would have game days on Sundays in the winter, and I always made sure that there was chips and salsa on the table for us to eat while we were playing games. I still serve it when I’m making tacos, burritos or anything Mexican, but I don’t just sit around and snack on it anymore like I did in the past. Today I mostly look forward to them when we go out for Mexican 🙂

#3 - Breaded Deep Fried Mushrooms - I’m a huge mushroom fan, so having them deep fried on my plate, with some ranch, is so yummy in my tummy :goodvibes

Yay for warm smiles dear Bluecastle. What a great answer!

Dad enjoys a variety of snack foods from trail mix to crackers and dip.

My only appetizer is Campbell's Chicken Broth.

I use 4oz plastic souflee cups to make my own individual applesauce cups. I prefer the taste of applesauce in a glass jar to in pre-packaged cups, it does not taste the same to me.

This is going to make me hungry way too early in the day.

1. Spanakopita Triangles- This is a dish I'll make in casserole form, but I've never had the patience to do all of the phyllo folding on my own. So, I love when DH picks me up a box of the triangles from Costco. Hey, at least I'm getting some veggies when having this snack. I also have a big tub of Greek yogurt and often make a little thing of homemade tzatziki for dipping.

2. Potstickers/Dumplings- I love them at restaurants and I like having them handy at home for a snack. DH hates when I make them in the house because the cabbage can make the place smell like a diaper pail (you should have seen him during DD18s kimchi phase), but I love them. I'm more fond of pork dumplings, but right now I'm settling for chicken. I have no dumpling skills so I buy premade or order for an appetizer in a restaurant.

3. Hummus and friends- This is one that I do like to make on my own. Sometimes I go traditional, sometimes I add in more Mediterranean spices, and sometimes I change it up a bit and blend in avocado. I like to keep corn tortillas around so I can slice them up and make my own tortilla chips. It's labor intensive, but it doesn't have as much of the salt and preservatives you find in store bought. Having carrot sticks handy is also a must if I'm in a hummus phase. If I want to compliment it with another dip and I can find it in store (because I hate making it), I will also have some baba ganoush. A nice olive tapenade can also mix in well.
