Another big color fan here!
Colorful walls - There's a time and place for builder's beige, soft gray, and plain white...but it's also nice to have bright colors. The room I'm in right now is bright yellow. It's a happy room
Colorful clothes - From DD17s colorful prom dress in a sea of solids to the brightly colored pieces by designers like Pucci...I love colorful clothes. I guess we can lump shoes and bags in here too.
Colorful art - As much as I love Renaissance works, the bright colors in more modern art is so uplifting. I used to keep a copy of a Kandinsky in one of my rooms, but it was damaged in a move. Dali is another one that's a fave. If I sit here long enough, I could write out another 30+ artists whose colorful art brings me joy.
Not stopping at 3
Colorful nature - I think this is why I enjoy photography. Not that any picture I ever take is as good as seeing it in person, but I always find myself trying to capture it anyway...and if possible, I'll go out of my way to see it when it's more colorful at different times of day. I remember spending the night with a South Rim view at the Grand Canyon. I told everyone else they could sleep in, but that I was going out pre-dawn to capture the colors as the sun came up. What's funny...they all wound up joining me at some point to see it as well.
Colorful language- I'm not just referring to profanity/expletives. The first thing that came to mind is beautifully written books and poetry, where the author's paints with words that take on life and colors in your mind. Although, expletives are another area of colorful language gratitude for me. While I know not everyone is good with it- regardless of the noted benefits, I remember a couple of college courses talking about how the most mentally damaging words and phrases in the English language do not contain even a hint of profanity. Yet, there have been numerous studies that show how a profanity based reaction to anything from a stressful situation to a big moment in a sporting event can be cathartic and ultimately alleviate stress. So yeah, I'm grateful for the colorful language that provides stress relief.
Colorful music- As a singer, I've often told people that certain notes, songs, and even instruments create a colorful reaction in my mind. Some people think I'm nuts when I say this, but others totally get it. It's also interesting to note that pieces that tend to create a lot of browns in my mind are my least favorite and ones that lack depth tend to be white.
Colorful nighttime events- As Disney fans, I think we're all lovers of things like fireworks, the lights of nighttime parades, and even the effects of colored light and water in shows like World of Color and Fantasmic!
Colorful decor- While I left the kids' game room the soft mint green it was when we bought the house, I decided to make it fun with a hodgepodge of colorful furnishings and touches. From this wild colorful area rug and a color block sofa to a splatter paint project with a storage chest and a floor lamp with colorful globes. It's such a cheery room!
Colorful drinks- Whether it's a cocktail or a mocktail, there is something so fun about colorful drinks. We went on a cruise a couple of years ago and the kids were able to get mocktails on our drink package. They got these layered "daquiris" that really helped them get into the vacation vibe with the rest of us. I believe the layers were mango (orange), pina colada (white), and strawberry (pink). And the bartenders were kind enough to give them the same kinds of colorful garnishes. Either way...it's just festive.
Colorful celestial events/fixtures- I've always been fascinated with this kind of stuff. The eclipse earlier this year was huge for me since the prominences and light changes added so much color that I never previously imagined, but it's so much more than that. I'm the person that will go out in the middle of the night to watch the Perseid meteor shower because seeing the sky light up with green and orange fireballs is just amazing. I'm the on on vacation who can't sit back and relax when the Milky Way is visible to the naked eye. I'm the one who is eagerly awaiting the big planets like Saturn and Jupiter to come back into view so I can locate my darn tripod and try to get photos showing the colors of the planets. I saw Jupiter with my dad's telescope several years ago and it was just mind boggling to be looking through this device and see the actual colors. Last year, while we were in Colorado for a tournament, a big green fireball appeared in the midday sky during one of our games. I was so excited to go through the game recording and find it.
I have more, but I'll stop.
