Three Things...Gratitude Thread

1. Wyoming- It's home to the vast majority of Yellowstone NP, which will probably always be our favorite of the national parks. (also home to Grand Teton NP and Devils Tower NM)

2. Water- While we can't live without it from a consumption standpoint and we also use it for cleansing, it's so much more. Natural and manmade bodies of water can harbor food sources, some waters are said to possess medicinal qualities, it's a source of recreation for some, there are plenty of examples of pretty water, and has a multitude of production applications in so many every day products.

3. Wings- Airplane wings help get you from point a to b. Insect wings like a butterfly's wings are a thing of beauty. The wings of birds help them take flight so we can watch in awe as eagles and hawks soar while brightly colored song birds flit and flutter around the yard.

Toys or games:

1. Farkle. It's a dice game, almost the opposite of Yahtzee. We play with our friends several times a month.
2. Rummikub. Possibly my favorite game of all
3. Jigsaw puzzles (does this count?)

Things starting with W:

1. Wine
2. Warm weather
3. Wheels- I LOVE to drive!

Good Evening now friends,

Prayers each of you had a good Monday. I thought of a couple extra "W's." Not a candy person really but dad and I do enjoy sucking in Werther's Original Hard Candy especially in drier weather. Winds-Days!pooh:

Dad postcard surprise update: I have now finished placing all of his many postcards (hundreds) into their spots. I do have an update as to which states I would love, one extra greeting or memory from.

Do any of you live in or have a travel memory of being in: Arkansas, South Carolina OR South Dakota?

If so, I would sincerely appreciate you PMing me by tomorrow evening. It can honestly just be a simple "Happy Birthday," from dear you. Or if you do have a travel memory of one of the above places that would be fantastic, too. Whatever you feel comfortable with!

I will create a postcard with a picture of the state or town and your share or greeting on the back by using a piece of cardstock paper or an index card. Nothing you would need to mail me. Thank you so much. Sweet Dreams to and hugs to all. God Bless You.

All of my Ws have been shared already.

Weekends - I'm not working any more but my dh is so weekends remain important.
Wine - especially visiting local wineries and trying new wines.
Water - staying hydrated is very important to healthy skin and diets.

Flyingdumbo - I have pictures from Myrtle Beach, SC that I could PM you and my son got married in Charleston, SC although all my pictures are of the wedding and not of the city. I feel bad that my mailed postcards never got to you.
You are a very special daughter.

Good Tuesday Morning

Wow….this is a hard one to narrow down to 3 - I love my pictures ❤️

#1 - 5yr old me having a conversation with Mickey Mouse on Main Street WDW in 1976 ::MickeyMo

#2 - A picture of my girls on Christmas Eve 2017 in front of The Nativity at our past Parish - this is the last time my oldest DD was with us for Christmas Eve Mass, so I do treasure this picture. It is framed and hanging in my front room ❤️

#3 - Our wedding photo that is framed and hanging at the top of the stairs that leads to the bedrooms. We had such a beautiful wedding❤️

You are so sweet Disney4us. I feel so badly the postcards you took the time and care to mail never came. You know I appreciate you always and your trying! I will PM you :)

Pictures of my Grandparents and Champ.

Dad and I from a couple years ago outside our building by Evergreen at Christmas.

God willing new pictures and memories with dad to come. Friends, too.

SO many of DD's dance pictures! She started at age 3 and ended up dancing professionally for two companies here in Maine. I love the pictures of her, watching her grow and develop her talents. Catches my heart every time!

My friend, Diane, took a picture of me near the top of Notre Dame Cathedral with the gargoyles. We refer to it as "lee and her homies!"

DD met Mulan when she was 5. We'd looked all over for her and couldn't find her anywhere. Finally, there she was! DD waited patiently for her turn, then walked up and said, "Mulan!! I have been waiting forever to meet you!" Mulan didn't miss a beat, dropped to one knee, and said, "Sarah, I've been waiting forever to meet you, too!" and wrapped her in a hug. My BIL caught the moment... and there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd!

ONE MORE... There's a photo of DD (who was 6 at the time), my niece (age 4) and an older cousin (age 9) taken when we had breakfast at the Castle- they were meeting Belle. The girls had matching princess tee shirts and matching gazes of love while looking at Belle as she chatted and signed their autograph books. All 3 were mesmerized!

1. Wedding photo—I don’t often like photos of myself. Our wedding photos are the exception to that. As time goes on they become more special because some of the people aren’t with us anymore—DH’s parents, my mom…
2. A photo of my girls are wearing Mickey Ears at Epcot last year. There was a rain delay (actually thunder/lightening in the area, we never had any rain) for the show to start and they all look happy and excited. I enlarged it and its in the living room.
3. For one year my girls were all playing for the same volleyball club so had the same uniform even though they were different ages and on different teams. I had their picture taken with the three of them in their uniform. It is framed and hangs on my bedroom wall. It was oldest DD’s last year of playing and youngest DD’s first year of playing. At the time their heights were still according to age and now it has reversed to the youngest being the tallest and the oldest the shortest so it makes me laugh.

1. It’s of my girls... They were ages 2 and 4 at the time. We were in Boutiki at the Poly just before a meal at ‘Ohana. They were dressed in these tropical pillowcase dresses that had been made by my mom from these late 60s/early 70s cases my she still had around from an old (really loud) bedding set. A CM suggested they try on some big plush yellow Mickey slippers to complete the look. Just after they put on the slippers, I got the cutest pic of them hugging.

2. Generational pics… My favorite includes my mother, maternal grandmother, DD17 (an infant at the time), and me. We lost my grandmother just before DD15 was born, so I'm grateful that she got to at least meet one of my girls. I’m also pretty fond of some that I took of my MIL, DH, both of our girls, and DHs maternal grandmother (she lived to age 104).

3. Wedding pic... I like a number of them, but there's one that looks nice - nothing out of the ordinary, but also gives us a great laugh every time we see it. DH and I are about the same height. I wore heels with my wedding gown. Nothing crazy, but they made me noticeably taller. The photographer apparently wanted DH to be taller than me, so they had him stand on a box for a bit and concealed the box with the voluminous skirt of my gown.

@flyingdumbo127 I will try and PM you some pics from South Dakota and Arkansas. We've been to both several times. Arkansas is going to be things in Hot Springs and the surrounding area. South Dakota is primarily Rapid City area attractions (Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Wall Drug, Custer, Wind Cave, Deadwood, etc.).

Today's Topic (Tues, 1/30) - 3 photos you're grateful to have

First and foremost, my DGF came from Poland. He had three brothers who also emigrated to the US or Canada. When his parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary, he went back to Poland to celebrate with them. His mother cried when she saw him and had to ask “Which one are you?” As she hadn’t seen any of them since they were teens. I have a picture of the celebration, the couple, two daughters who stayed in Poland and my Dzadzie!

My dad on a pony when he was about 10.

My mom when she was about 10…In a beautiful velvet dress taken in a portrait studio. The year was about 1928.

A pic of my daughter holding her little brother in the hospital-looking very happy and proud to be a big sister
A really cool photo of my dad with his back to the camera standing on the shore of a pond(he was a big fishing guy)
A photo of my husband and I with his Memere-who we just lost recently-at our wedding

I'm with Slo, narrowing this down to just three is nearly impossible!

Definitely our family portrait that was taken at WDW by their professional photographers and we're in a hammock at the Polynesian Resort! This is probably one of my fondest memories as well.

Gonna cheat a bit, lol, and say all 3 of my sons' high school graduation pictures. The photos really capture their very different personalities.

Lastly, I will select my youngest son's photo with Mickey Mouse. Michael was 15 months old and had no interest in walking but he was so excited to see Mickey Mouse that he took his first steps to grab Mickey's outstretched hand. We got the best shot of the awestruck look on his sweet little face. So long ago as he is 27 now.....
