Three Things...Gratitude Thread

As it's American Independence Day, I'm going to choose 4 American things, which, as a Brit, I appreciate ETA: I wasn't able to stop at 4! :rotfl:: -

The sheer space.
The variety in culture, climate, landscape.
The energy and enthusiasm. (I like our British cynicism and dry wit, but it really is nice to experience the different warmth and 'buzz' of Americans.) (Disclaimer: I realise this is generalising!)
The chocolate chip cookies! The peaches. The cantaloupes. The Ranch dressing.
WDW and DL resorts.
American sitcoms.
The Super Bowl.
80s teen movies. And 80s and 90s family movies.
Steven Spielberg and John Williams.
The Fonz. And Chachi!!! And Jack Bauer!
The leisure opportunities.
The tees!!
The feeling of freedom I get over there.

I'm grateful...

.💙 for fun holiday outfits,
.🤍 for family traditions & memories,
.❤️ for the independence of being an introvert, and
🎆 that the weather is supposed to clear up for fireworks tonight!
I love #3 "the independence of being an introvert!". 😍

I hope the weather is clear and dry for you all. Enjoy the fireworks.

Independent choice (4):
I'm grateful to live on a planet that has all the right forces to create and sustain life while offering a wide array of natural features to delight the senses and challenge us physically

I'm grateful for electricity

I'm grateful for the mobility I have. It's not as much as I've had in the past. Having it limited has increased my awareness of how fortunate I am for what I do have.

I'm grateful for all the opportunities I've been presented in my lifetime and super grateful for the opportunities to which I said, "yes".

Happy 4th everyone!

I'm just getting back from vacation tonight, so on this independence day, I'm grateful for:

1. Travel safeties for my family!
2. The opportunity to travel!
3. Our great country that I was fortunate to be born into!
4. My great family and I was fortunate enough to be able to spend 11 days with!

Whimsical pens - Back when I was substitute teaching, I used to bring different ones to use in school. It gave the kids sort of an ice-breaker to start a conversation. I'd find them in lots of different places. - Zoo gift shops were an especially good source!

Measuring spoons - Very handy little tools in the kitchen!

Computer mouse 🐭

3 Small Tools -

1. Nail file to keep my nails looking presentable

2. My nice personalized pen - I ordered it for myself this past Christmas when ordering other gifts from personalization mall. I needed like $10 more to get free shipping, so I added it for around $12 I think and I love it!

3. Tweezers - to use on my eyebrows and occasional other hair that's where it shouldn't be lol!

Small Tools

I have some Tangle Teezer brushes and I love them.

It doesn't have to be expensive, but I always appreciate a pen that writes smoothly.

Staplers. Simple, but handy and, probably, underappreciated!

A squeegee for cleaning the shower. Not the most fun job, but the squeegee makes it a bit easier.

Ooh I have about 5 of those eye repair kits - they come in handy - I have kne in my travel bag
I thought if one I use frequently
Tiny one use super glue - it’s hard to get as it’s always sold out - but so handy for those little things that break like magnets !!

DD is an advocate of re-useable straws, and while I'm not, the skinny little brush that comes with the straws is great for cleaning a whole bunch of small things.

I have a small, flat, vinyl flashlight. It has a contact button that you hold to turn the light on, and it has a magnet in it. It live on the fridge, so when the lights go out I always know where the flashlight is- and can use it to find the "real" flashlights.

I love the plastic toothpicks that have a U-shaped end that holds floss. I find them MUCH easier to use than regular floss, and always keep several in my wallet, backpack, car, etc.
