Ooh, whereabouts, over here, were you?2. DH was sent to England to work for a month when oldest DD was 6 weeks old. I wasn’t working and felt terrible about him missing those early weeks so decided we would go along. He worked almost every day and very long hours. For the first few days I just stayed in the hotel room, but at some point decided to venture out. The hotel was in a fairly rural area and I had to take a bus into town where I could catch other buses to go places. I was a nervous wreck, but quickly realized she loved being in the carrier I wore and was less fussy when we were out and about. I explored little towns, toured a castle and the grounds and some days just walked around a mall in the town. She was fine, I was fine and everything worked out. DH had 1 1/2 days off at the end and we took a train to London and did a few touristy things and then had another 1/2 day that we toured a castle in another area.

Rochester is the town that I took a bus to and would venture out from there. I believe it was southeast of London. Are you familiar with it? I think my husband was working on an upgrade to a power plant somewhere in that general area. I loved my time there. The people were wonderful to a new mom in an unfamiliar place in the world who was trying to figure out a lot of new things all at once. The infant I was schlepping around will be 23 in a few weeks so it’s been a while.Ooh, whereabouts, over here, were you?![]()
I am still struggling a bit. Wore my contacts two days in a row this week for the first time in weeks. I wore them about 2 hours today and had to remove them. I usually start tapering off the Zyrtec mid June so should be getting close to the end now. Even the pataday eye drops with the Zyrtec isn’t enough this year.Allergy season is over.
Yes, Rochester is southeast of London in the county of Kent. I spent some time in Canterbury, Kent, but have never been to Rochester. Lots of history there, though - castle, cathedral etc.Rochester is the town that I took a bus to and would venture out from there. I believe it was southeast of London. Are you familiar with it? Birthday treats!God willing come the end of July, my friend Sue from church will be celebrating her 100th birthday! Dad and I probably won't feel comfortable attending her huge party at church a few days before her actual birthday. However, on her special day we will be delivering a![]()

Ooh, nice point about the green of early summer. It's like when you first put up Christmas decorations and everything is fresh and neat.June things
It's all green out, but not so overgrown, like at the end of summer.
