The Journey Begins!

The characters:
DH
DD1 = 6
DD2 = 4
And me your narrator for the journey. Sit back relax and enjoy the trip!

We began our journey on Tuesday evening with a 23 hour car ride from Maine to Florida. We made great time with minimal interruptions in the drive. DD2 threw up after eating a rogue honey bun and also peed in her carseat once. Oops my bad should have stopped faster but "I gotta pee RIGHT NOW!" when you are cruising along at 70 miles an hour is just NOT enough notice!

We have spent the last four nights visiting with my dad and now are heading to the World!! We have made a couple short trips up this week. On Thursday night we headed into the Poly for a Dole Whip, Fireworks and shopping a little. Yesterday (Saturday) we went to DTD for DH to get his annual pass and we let the girls play in the splash pad there for the first time. They always beg and I always say no because I don't want them getting wet! They of course got SOAKED but enjoyed every minute of it and rode back to my dad's almost naked!

We leave here in about an hour (maybe two) to drive the hour to WDW and check in to SSR. If our room isn't ready we are planning to spend the day by the new Paddock Pool. Check back tonight and I will update with pictures.

So we got here about 11 AM and got checked in - our room was not ready though we didn't expect it to be - so that was not a surprise! We are on quick service dining so we decided to head to WPE for some lunch before swimming.

We got there at just before noon and ordered the following:

Spicy chicken pizza for me
Cheese Pizza for the girls to share
Pasta bolongnese for hubby

For dessert I ordered the cheese cake and hubby ordered a Verne brûlée - funny until Disney I didn't know he liked crenels brûlée and now it is his dessert of choice!

The girls shared a brownie.

I have pictures of everything - but we haven't hooked the real computer up yet! I'm on my iPhone right now!

We headed back to the hotel and went to artist pallet to get our mugs and headed over to te paddock pool. It was awesome! BTW they have the mugs there - good to know in th future.

We did a lit of swimming and a lit of sliding and played a lot of games! I tried out the hot tub - but it was actually too cold! I also have tons of pictures of the pool to share. About 3:00 we got the text that our room was ready - we are in the middle springs building (3647) and headed over to the room. We got the girls down for a nap and they are still sleeping! We were lucky to get unpacked and each a shower without little people running around!

We have a beautiful view from our too
And I think we are close to both pools - but haven't actually investigated on foot yet.

Tonight is EMH at Magic Kingdom and we hope to hit all the major rides with little to no wait. I just checked wait times now and they are minimal - 20 minutes for SM??

So where did I leave off?

Ah yes ~ napping girls! Once the woke up we drove over to MK. We parked WAY out in Daisy ~ but towards the end of a row near tram pick up so who really cares what stop? We got into MK right about 7:00 via monorail. :) The girls LOVE monorail so it is worth the taking the car for one trip. Though we debated a lot about it with the monorail not running for EMH. UGH!

More on that later. So we got to MK and headed over to get FP's for Jungle Cruise. They were for 8:00 ~ perfect. There was a 4 minute wait for the New/Old Tiki Room...so we popped in line for that (on a side note my DD1 says that adults only use the word "popped" when we are trying to make something UN-FUN SOUND fun! LOL!) it was awesome to share with my girls what I remember the Tiki Room to be! They both LOVED it....Z was particularly excited that there was no witch in this version.

We were all hungry so headed over to Peco Bills for some dinner. The girls shared a Grilled Chicken salad, DH had one too and I had a Taco Salad. We had three chocolate cakes that we split. Those were yummy ~ but really I only care about having a taste... never would eat the entire thing... splitting meals works perfectly for us! We have less leftovers (i.e. waste).

While everyone finished up with their chocolate cake I headed to BTRRM to grap FP's ~ 9:00 again... perfect! I met the family back in Peco Bill's finishing potty break and we decided to ride PoC. 30 minute wait...? Nah skipped it. We used our FP to ride Jungle Cruise... at night a first for my girls I think. We had a nice, funny skipper so it made it extra fun at night! We went to use our FP's to ride BTRRM and just at the door DD2 had to potty so DH took her while DD1 and I waited. We chatted with a nice CP kid named Josh. DD1 felt compelled to tell her his life story and was disappointed to see DH come back with DD2. Little tiny wait... maybe 5 minutes and we were on the ride! Also awesome at night!!

We headed over to HM there was NO wait.... none. Awesome. We did get stuck for a minute or two... nothing major.

The girls wanted to ride PP but there was still a super long line and NO fp's so we skipped and rode Small World instead. Next we rode: Mickey's Philharmagic, Carosuel, Snow White, Winnie the Pooh.

We hit up Gravitiy's Ice Cream for a smoothie for me, root beer float for the girls and a coke for hubby.

We were able to ride with no wait: Buzz and Peoplemover.

Next we split up and DD1 and I rode SM (it was a 30 minute posted wait... but I put it at 15 minutes at best). DH and DD2 rode Tomorrowland Speedway. Of course I wasn't there but DH says that they were stopped on the track because the car in front of them was stopped and some grown adult behind him rammed him and DD2 FULL on without slowing down at all. I guess he thought it would be funny?? Not sure but DH's back and neck hurt so bad that we had to leave and then he was up throwing up all night. Not sure if the throw up is related to the crash or the heat... but either way... what a way to end the night!

Up next pictures so far!
