My youngest DD (12) asked for braces  (which she is getting next month) and a new room for Christmas. Well she got all the things to make the new room on Christmas Day. The day after we began the THREE DAY PROCESS!

Here are the results. Thank God she loves it. I told her she had to love it because it was her room for the next 30 years.

Warning..... Your eyes are about to experience some intense color.. this room is NOT for the faint of heart (but she loves it).

The paint is Disney colors of course.. It is Tink Pink and Sonic Boom.

I think it looks awesome! It beats my son's gothic dark purple room with guitars hanging on the walls and skateboarding and rock posters. LOL

I love her room! :cheer2:

My Niece's room is Dark Blue and Flourescent Orange~ that color combination has been known to induce vomiting. :scared1:

VERY COOL!!

Who came up with the different color walls & circles? That is sooooo creative! I love it!

I told DD that in March for her birthday (her 7th) we can re-do her room. Right now she has the Disney princesses all over...but she's looking for a more "grown up" look. We both LOVE butterflies, so I'm searching for a new comforter with butterflies & then we will determine the walls from there.

Thanks for the inspiration!! And only 3 days....that's so great!

Thanks :)

The circle idea was hers... She wanted pink and this electric blue but I wasn't able to find anything to really go with that color combo.. so I suggested lime green and she liked that too.

FYI... the different (more brownish) color circles above the desk are actually cork board circles. She loves bulletin boards to hang stuff on her walls.. and her normal rectangle onces would have looked out of place. So we got a roll of cork board and cut it into three different sized circles and put one large, one medium and two small ones up.

..can ya tell we watch of lot of Trading Spaces, While You Were Out and HGTV? :teeth:

I think it's cute, but I wouldn't want to be in there with a hangover!

How did you get the dots so perfectly round?

We traced three different "circles" (laundry basket, cookie tin and flower pot) onto poster board and cut them out. Then we lightly traced those circles randomly with pencil on her walls. It took forever to paint because we traced around the circles first with the wall paint, then we rolled the wall.. then went back and filled in the circles tracing the inside with the circle paint and then filling it in. There was probably a much easier way to do it.. but this worked.

How cute! I wish I had polka dots in my room :teeth:

Hehe, I'm 16, and I have a bit of a princess motif going on, Princesses and Tink. You're never too old for princesses.

But then of course the other half of my room is a poster of every cute boy ever, a martini neon night and PBteen stuff, so it's pretty eclectic :teeth:

OMG, you deserve the Mom of the Year Award for that one. :goodvibes

When we moved into our house 3 years ago, I got the bright idea that I would spongepaint DD's room. Well, I got started and all I can say is it looks SO much easier when they do it on HGTV. My arm would start hurting so I would switch arms and it totally messed up the flow of the pattern. Meanwhile, THREE COATS LATER, it finally looked okay, but now she will have those walls until she leaves for college! LOL

The room is very cool. we are switching rooms between the kiddos and redoing them. DD is going witha princess room with cinderella blue walls, and Ds is going for an industrial/American Choppers room with grey walls. I'll post pictures when I am finished

looks like it was right out of an episode of TS... :) good job
