Three Days later DD has a new room (pics)

What a nice mom you are. :goodvibes I am sure she will always remember how much trouble you went to. :wizard:

Looks great! We did something similar with DD's room, however used a dark purple with the lime green. All walls are deep, dark purple and accessories are lime. Looks neat but will be a pain if we ever want to paint over those purple walls.

Hehe, I'm 16, and I have a bit of a princess motif going on, Princesses and Tink. You're never too old for princesses.

But then of course the other half of my room is a poster of every cute boy ever, a martini neon night and PBteen stuff, so it's pretty eclectic :teeth:

Hi Megan - I hope I didn't offend you!! I'm SURE there will still be a Disney Princess (but mostly Tink) theme to the room when we're done. I think we're both just ready for a new/more generic comforter & to get rid of the princess canopy!! ;)

lol, I'm not offended. I'm just the girl who refuses to grow up! My friends used to think it was weird, but they have embraced the fact that I want to be a princess when I grow up :teeth:

What an adorable room! Great job.

The polka dots remind me of when I had the brilliant  idea for Giraffe hide walls in my son's jungle bedroom. It took DH and me three days and three coats to do the reddish-brown patches over the yellow. It turned out really cute, but it was a lot of work!

We traced three different "circles" (laundry basket, cookie tin and flower pot) onto poster board and cut them out. Then we lightly traced those circles randomly with pencil on her walls. It took forever to paint because we traced around the circles first with the wall paint, then we rolled the wall.. then went back and filled in the circles tracing the inside with the circle paint and then filling it in. There was probably a much easier way to do it.. but this worked.

This room is almost identical to my dd previous room. We did all that work and one month later DH came home and said we were being transferred. The very first thing I thought about was all the hard work I had just done in DD room. Oh well.

For the circles, we also traced around three different sized items onto poster board. Then we cut out the circles, threw those away and taped the poster board back together. We then sponged the inside of the circle. They came out great.

Your dd bedroom looks wonderful. My dd "new" bedroom is currently BRIGHT orange with purple book shelves all the way around the room. She loves it!

I have your answer if you ever decide to paint over those walls... Because I had to. Use Kilz Ceiling paint. It works in ONE coat, for the most part. It dries to a near chalky finish and then you can paint over it with a glossy paint, and VIOLA you're done.

The room looks great, btw, any Hidden mickeys?
