You all are just too fast for me...You both posted while I was busy typing...I just jumped. Sounded like something hit my house outside my office window. I have the blinds open and I don't usually do that. I'm going to turn off my light and close it.

Oooops, thanks. DD12 was out talking to me while I was trying to type.

DS's mom said something the last time we picked him up about picking him up just for Sunday to she could take him to Kneobels (sp). But DH doesn't like when she says that kind of stuff, she usually backs out. So DH told him that he will have to spend the weekend with us and he can go to his mom's next weekend. And if she decides not to show up, she won't come right out and say it as soon as she knows. She'll keep putting it off telling DS that she has to check with her boyfriend if he can pick up DS. He ends up playing a waiting game with her and usually ends up being let down.

I feel better now. I have a big back yard. I didn't see anything out there.
I'm going to Hershey on Sunday. The Association is there. It is going to be hot. I probably won't do any rides anyway. Then Monday, Mom has her regular dr appointment and a dentist appointment. I guess I'll have a busy weekend. I need to get my clothes together yet.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Sounds like the clean up would have been faster if they would have just thrown a whole bunch of pancakes on the mess.

We get some wacky accidents up here but I don't think that has been one of them. There used to be brewery right around here and a couple of times they had an accident, for some reason it was cleaned up awfully quick. :rolleyes1

Morning friends! How's Bopsmom DD doing today? And congrats Racetrack on being able to leave the kiddies by themselves, in whatever capacity.

Who said mint chocolate chip ice cream-green only? I completely agree. I like mint choco chip, Jerry Garcia, and butter pecan. I like my ice cream with stuff.

Wow, supermarket prices have gotten so exorbitant that shopping at Sam's Club is a huge bargain! I went last night with SIL and little niece and nephew. Those two are a handful! Anyway, I don't usually shop in the evenings, I just don't like it, but we did it last night. And the produce bargains were incredible! I got mangoes, grapes, strawberries, and bananas for so cheap! We got Dad a cake from there--with this heat we're having neither SIL nor I wanted to bake at home. We got vanilla with buttercream, partnered with choco ice cream. We got some great steaks and chicken for the grill and SIL is cooking some Filipino favorites. Its going to be a great party if we all don't melt away!

I ordered two more Roombas earlier this week and they've shipped! Its going to be a Roomba derby when they get here. I have to decide which one I want to keep, I'll give the other to my mother, and Edgar to my sister.

M&N...have fun at Hershey! But what's the Association? It sounds so sinister...

Stay cool today! We have heat advisories here. Didn't get the coke float yesterday, so I have some catching up to do! Good day all! Talk to you later!

Bopsmom: Where's Paul Bunyan when you need him?

To educate all you youngsters out there..The Association was a group from the mid 60's. I guess soft rock would explain them. Cherish, Windy, and Never My Love would be my 3 favorites...they probably didn't have too many more than that.

Giving Edgar away?
4.gif
Now we have to name another one? How about Wonderful Automatic Litter Lifter-Extraordinarie?

Keep cool this weekend.

I know Never My Love and Cherish! I just didn't know they were by the Association....Now I have Cherish playing in my mind. That's a great summer song.

Believe me, I love Edgar so much, but he's not equipped properly to deal with all the hair (both mine and the pets). The 500 series has a a filter that traps all the hair, unlike Edgar, who has rolling brushes that I have to give a haircut every week. He's going to a good home, my sister has a little studio apartment and he'll be able to vaccuum up in much less time than he does here...but I will miss the little guy. I'll have to go visit him...or get him a girlfriend!

I think its so sad and such a reflection of the times we're in that on the Dis front page and the announcements all I keep seeing is "price increase, price increase". BF and I think that September's trip may be the last at WDW for a while. I still have my Universal AP, so we may go there when they open Harry Potter next year, which I'm really looking forward to!

Believe me, I love Edgar so much, but he's not equipped properly...!

I hear you! I had to get rid of my ex-husband for this exact same reason!!!!!:lmao: :rotfl2:

I would name the next one Hazel! (flashback to old TV shows):goodvibes

:lmao: SO sorry about that! I have to go apologize to Edgar, I didn't mean to challenge his manhood....

Hazel would work! She's pearly white in color, very pretty. i'm going to put googly-eyes on her and lashes. Maybe I can give Hazel and Edgar some alone time in the closet. The long distance relationship is going to be difficult for them....

Afternoon!!! Going to be hot here too. I'm hoping DH calls it a short day today. I hate the idea of him working outside when the weather is this hot.

MagiKitty-I hear you about the price increases at Disney. If we don't move next year, this will most likely be our last stay on property. With 6 of us we have to either rent 2 value rooms or stay in one of the cabins. We are just getting priced out. They will have to offer some really good incentives for us to stay in their hotels again.

Bopsmom-Did they ever get the molasses cleaned up?

M&N-Have fun at Hershey!

I just spent 40 minutes on the phone with SIL listening to witch about the financial trouble she and DB are in. They put themselves there so I'm not being heartless or anything. I'm talking about taking a trip to Atlantic City for their anniversary when all their bills are overdue. And then while they are there, overdrawing their bank account repeatedly because the ATM kept giving them money. But it wasn't their fault...the ATM kept giving them the money. And how dare the bank even charge them the overdraft fees!!! Yada, yada, yada.

And here's the kicker, they are suppose to be in my dad's wedding in a month. She is going to call him today and tell him that she can't afford it and won't be in it. She knew she had to buy a dress and kept putting it off. Stepmom has been really easy to work with for the wedding. She found fairly cheap dresses that she liked, we can pick our own shoes, fix our hair how we want. She's been trying to keep everything very reasonable for us.

Sometimes I just want to strangle SIL and DB. :furious:

If Edgar and Hazel spend enough alone time together, you can offer any offspring up here... I'd be happy to adopt a tiny roomba of my own... :rotfl:

:furious: That's really a shame.

As for DS and the field trip, its always interesting getting a 3yr olds perspective when you haven't been there, but here's what I got.

DS's first trip report... "My field trip to Mounbounce Adventures"

"I rode on a BUS!!!!"
"Did you sit w/ anyone?"
"Yeah. I sat w/ Anna, but we had to scooch over. We sat w/ a teacher too."
"Was the busride fun?"
"Yes it was!"
Where did you go?"
"We went to the Mooooonbounce."
"Wow. Were there lots of bouncey houses there?"
"Yes. There were 90." (very matter of factly) "But they weren't normal bounce houses. They looked like gates." ( )
"Oh, they did. What else did they look like?"
"Some of them had a slide, but the slide was big and I was scared so I didn't go on that one. Someday if they make the slides smaller I will go on it."
"Did you have fun?"
"Yeah!!! Mommy, will we go on the bus at school tomorrow?"
"No, not tomorrow, but would you like to go back to the Moonbounce someday?"
"YEAH!"

Other info spread over the course of the evening...
He jumped "90" times. (Must be his new number for "a lot." Funny, just a few weeks ago, it was 5.)
He took turns.
He wore a yellow t-shirt that all the kids in his class wore.
Anna is taller than him.
He was very tired from "all that bouncing."
He also demonstrated how to bounce in our living room for about 10 minutes before bed.

So, I'm pretty sure a good time was had by all!

Afternoon!!! Going to be hot here too. I'm hoping DH calls it a short day today. I hate the idea of him working outside when the weather is this hot.
I hope he can get out of the heat. We've been having indexes of 105+ for awhile now. It can really drain you.

MagiKitty-I hear you about the price increases at Disney. If we don't move next year, this will most likely be our last stay on property. Do you ever "rent" via the DVC board? There seems to be some really reasonable prices and a 2 BR villa can sleep 6 easy. We ship snacks, wine, and other stuff before hand and have groceries delivered so it saves on food too. We go often, but I try to do as much as I can to save (old habits, ya'know). We are driving this Christmas because the new car-hate giving up my Sienna:sad1: )will only use 22 gallons to transport 4 of us to Orlando.

Bopsmom-Did they ever get the molasses cleaned up?
Yes they did but they had to make an emergency call for all the bisquits in the county.:goodvibes

M&N-Have fun at Hershey!
I hope you have fun too! :cool1:
DH has been ruminating about taking a trip there. We love parks. Since we can't dive anymore(DH is a master diver) and DD can't get certified-asthma is too big a risk-we have started taking thrill ride vacations.:confused3 I miss diving and I'm the one that has to takeDD snorkeling while he dives but it's not what you call "family fun" so we stopped doing it.

I'll help!
I have the exact same thing here. DB(eldest)and SIL lost their home(3rd one since they have been married) for doing stupid sh....too. DM bailed them out-again-and they complain because they have to pay her back $300 a month for their new home(with 1/2 an acre)-pretty darn good "rent" huh and they both work.

I hope your SM doesn't bail them out. It shows your DDad and her that they didn't consider "their" day important enough to plan for.
People who do this figure they can get all the bennies anyways because it would shame the family for them not to be there and they can say.....we couldn't afford it, poor us.....

My DB and his wife tried to pull this same thing on me for my 1stwedding and I told them-"We'll miss you but you had X amount of time to plan and I can't/won't pay for your way because I am not doing it for my other brothers and their families.(they are 10+years older than me, had 2 incomes) Please feel free to attend as guests, but you'd better not poor-mouth to others about not being included because I will reply as to "why" you didn't think my day/your family was as important to you as (your new boat, your luxury vaction....etc.)" They decided they couldn't come with that restriction.
DM wanted to bail them out, and I told her "no way, if anyone asks about their absence tell them, They felt their vacations were more important." It was the truth. They weren't missed and still are sheepish about the situation.
BTW-My brother was supposed to walk me down the aisle since my DF had passed-nice huh!?
I eloped for my second, sent announcement cards before we left and had a reception after we came back-much better!

Sorry about your (1st) wedding. Did you have someone else walk with you? My 1st I had my uncle but for my 2nd I just walked down by myself.

lighttech-your DS is just too cute for words. I love to listen to my kids perspective on things. So glad he had a good time.

Bopsmom-I hadn't really thought about DVC. In fact, I know very little about it. They all have a kitchen? I like the idea of having food shipped down even if it's just breakfast and snack items. And I think at one point I read they have a washer and dryer? I know, laundry and vacation don't mix but with having for pack for 6, it's so much easier if I do laundry sometime while we are there.

What I can't understand about DB is he was raised by the same parents as me. And they certainly don't blow their money of big vacations. They don't take any vacations with their son because they have spent all their money on themselves. They gamble, buy dozens of DVDs, manicures (not DB :lmao: ), order take out 5 nights a week. She keeps complaining they don't make enough money but if they would stop all this stupid spending, they would plenty. And then she goes on about how lucky we are because DH makes such a good wage. Yeah, he makes ok money but we don't blow on all kinds of stupid things. Bills, necessities, and savings come first. I don't know why that is such a hard concept for some people.

I thing she wanted me to tell dad and SM that she "can't" afford to be in the wedding. No way, no how. This is all on them. And unfortunately, my dad will probably help them out.

Lunch out...where are we going? I know I'm doing Arby's with Mom. Then we have to get back to her house to babysit my 7 month old 2nd cousin so her parents can go to Phila to see his brother and Mom who is up from NC until he is out of the coma. We will have her longer than the last time. I hope she doesn't cry as much as the last time. I think her Mommy takes her to the gym and she has the people there watch her for 30 min or so while she works out. She should be a little bit better with strangers.

Both my Mom and I like to be "waited on" so we also pick a sit down restaurant to eat at when we go shopping. We usually eat at Applebees when we go shopping in Concord, NH or there is a nicer place that we like to go to called the Red Blazer. (They have sweetpotato fries. YUM!) I'll just have to see what we feel like doing.

Have fun with the baby! 7 months is a really cute stage; unless there bawling for their Mom! Good Luck!

I'm going to Hershey on Sunday. The Association is there. It is going to be hot. I probably won't do any rides anyway. Then Monday, Mom has her regular dr appointment and a dentist appointment. I guess I'll have a busy weekend. I need to get my clothes together yet.

Wanted to share this with ya'll.

I'm glad your DS had a good time at the Moonbounce Adventure place. It's not just 3 year olds you have to pull information out off. DS10 and DS7 still don't tell me anything about what they did when they go on an adventure.

Me: So, how was it?

Them: Fine.

Me: Did you have a good time?

Them: Yes.

Me: So, what did you do?

Them: Stuff.

It's like their guarding government secrets or something!

lighttech-your DS is just too cute for words. I love to listen to my kids perspective on things. So glad he had a good time.

If you need any help with DVC than PM me and we can exchange phone#'s. I would be more than happy to help. I'm a pretty good DVC'r:goodvibes anyways I learn the "tricks" fast. Renting points you have to be flexible, but many have to give up vacations or have extra points. You can get a good rate.
For example:
We stayed at Boardwalk Villas(one of the highest point resorts BTW) Sunday check in thru Friday check out(5 nights). We were in a 2 BR with a Boardwalk view for 182 points-(@$10.00 per point-the going rate on the rental boards) that's $1, 820.00 for 8 people. or $910.00 per family for the week.
We didn't need a car-we were on property and had a kitchen and W/D. Not bad.

Yes, the 1 br and 2 br have kitchens and w/d. I totally get needing a washer and dryer.
We ship stuff and than we pack 1/2 the clothes and do a load during the trip. Since we go other places after WDW we have clean clothes for that trip too. Let me know.

What she(SIL) "wants" and what she "gets" should be two different things. Their whole problem has been being able to distinguish between "wants" and "needs" hasn't it?
Don't you dare tell them-It's not your "news" it's another way "those people" get away with that stuff-they don't have to face the music and don't get hit directly with stuff from their actions. They figure that others always do their dirty work.:laughing:for them. Let them tell your DF and SM, then act surprised when you hear about it.

Good Luck!

Have fun at Hershey! Stay cool and don't over do it!

I wonder how many yellow jackets showed up for the free buffet?:rotfl:

I know what you mean about food prices! I have two growing boys that go through my house like locusts every week.

Roombas are cool!

Been there! My sister and her boyfriend.

Sounds like me trying to get info from DH.
