Sorry if I forgot to say I was going to Annaplois today...Glad you missed me. I am going to write about it but do not have time tonight---too tired and I need a shower...BUT, second priority was checking on the TKers. 1st was to call mom...actually you came in 3rd...had to go to

first. I usually do when I go anywhere.

Woohoo, I came in 3rd!! I came in 3rd! I don't even come in 3rd with DH. Kids, work, his truck, food, tv...heck I know I'm in there somewhere, I just forget where. :lmao: Get some rest, I'll catch you tomorrow.

Oh yeah, and the bathroom is always the first place I visit when I get home. I try to avoid public bathrooms as much as I can. :lmao:

Never thought I would come in 3rd to a finless brown! :rotfl2:

 Evening M&N! How was your trip? What did you see? Oh, I guess I should wait until tomorrow after you rested up. You sleep now and share in the morning!

EEW! Black leather pants?! In the summer? Where'd you see him?

Since we are talking about clothing, I saw a guy today wearing black leather pants! I don't mean the kid you might wear while riding your motorcycle. I'm talking shiny, may have been pleather, Micheal Jackson Beat it Pants! :rotfl:

Just Beat It, Beat It, Beat It, Beat It
No One Wants To Be Defeated
Showin' How Funky Strong Is Your Fight
It Doesn't Matter Who's Wrong Or Right

No picture?!? Camera phone, something?

Ok, one more post. I saw him while he was on his way to Walmart. I don't know if he was walking to work or going there to shop. He had on a blue t-shirt tucked into the pants. Oh, and he had bright white sneakers on to complete his ensemble.

Maybe he was going to buy new pants because that was all he had in his closet.

Night Pikester!

Racetrack, you have thoroughly impressed me with your knowledge of MJ lyrics. I really didn't know what he said after all these years. Its finally good to know!

Hi pepperw23
Shmu Puny looks like one happy pirate! ;)
Yep. He was Happy.:rotfl2:

Pikester can have Pedro. My

belongs to Puny!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Boy! Take longer then 5 minutes to answer a post and look who shows up!

I was wondering who Puny was. Now I know and knowing is half the battle! G. I. Joe! Sorry! Brain wandered for a moment.
Now you know. He gets into a lot of trouble.:lmao:

Now Puny, behave yourself! All those singles look like you're going to go the local "gentlemens" club! But I'm looking forward to having a drink with you--how about you and me in Mexico? I'm sure I can shake the BF for a little while....
:lmao: :lmao:
It's a date.:thumbsup2
(I'll PM you soon for us to set up our meet time. I have been distracted lately with life.)

I got some bad news today.
So sorry. I'll be praying.

My cousin's BIL was in some type of motorcycle accident last week near Phila. He's in a medical induced coma right now.
I'll be praying for this situation also.

Shmu-You brought Puny to our thread!!!!! I've missed Puny.

M&N-You're right, Pikester can have Pedre. But I'll fight you Puny's heart.
vb_boxing_smiley.gif
He has arrived. He will probably make "guest" appearances from time to time.:lmao: :lmao:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Too funny. Cat fight over Puny.:rotfl2:

CONGRATULATIONS! Here's your check!

For 3.00!:rotfl:
That's what you can use to buy Puny a drink.:thumbsup2

Yeah, it's hard with DS but we haven't given up. I understand why he would want to live with his mom. She's his friend and doesn't really discipline him. Heck, when he downloades $300.00 of adult movies, she asked if she should punish him. Well, duh!! I know when I was 15, the choice of house where I have basically no rules or consequences or a house where I have rules and my parents are trying to teach me to be an adult, I know what I would choose. I am very big on parental rights and don't really believe in taking a child away from a parent unless really necessary (abuse, etc) but sometimes I wonder if DS would be better off if his mom wasn't in the picture as much. If she was on the same page as us, it would be so much easer to get him straighten out. Would you believe, they have been out of school for a month and she has yet to ask for his report card?

And yes, we are praising him on what he has been doing good. We are slowly giving him his privilages back. But it's slow and I truly miss the way things used to be here.
Discipline is Love. Hard but necessary. We're here for ya.

Oh, I wanted to add that we celebrated my Dad's kidney's 8th birthday over the weekend. We've been very blessed to have such a successful transplant!
That is Good news.

Just bopping in quick.
I haven't caught up, and won't tonight, but I hope everyone is well.

I had an unexpected dr.'s appt today... but everything is FINE!!! Hope this isn't TMI, but a little spotting, combined w/ the Braxton Hicks I was having last night and I got a little nervous. Dr. said to come in, checked it out and said that there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Even though I know its kinda' weird b/c I didn't stop by to voice my concern, I wanted to come by and share my happy news w/ you all.

I did feel a little bad for DS, I had just told him we would get dressed and take a picnic lunch to the park and then play for a while when I discovered the "issue." So, instead he had to get dressed and come be bored w/ me at the Dr.'s office. I must brag a bit here... he was such a little trooper. He did whine a little at first, but I told him it was imp't to go to make sure Mommy and the baby were healthy and he perked up. He asked if we could go later, and I said we would see (I planned on it provided everything was o.k. but I didn't want to promise again.) So, when my app't was all over, he said "Excuse me Dr... Is is ok if Mommy and I go to the park for a little while?" The Dr. told him it would be o.k. as long as Mommy took it easy. He said "OK, but I"m going to run around real fast." The Dr. assured him that would be fine. Then at the park, DS kept directing me to diff't benches that I should sit on and rest while he played. He has his moments, but he really is my little

Anyway, after a bit of stress, I'm just exhausted. So, I have to pack up lunches, etc. for school tomorrow, and then I am heading to bed and crashing. (And saying a little prayer of thanks for my blessings.)

Have a great night everyone!
I enjoyed reading this.
Precious.
Thanks for sharing.

Are any of you on Facebook?
I have one but I really don't use it that much anymore.
I have it just to help keep my DD accountable.

Does anybody read the rumors board on here? I used to read it but it always seemed like there were no new posts. Anyways, I checked out today and there are rumors they may be adding a new option to the Dining Plan. They are refering to it as DDP Lite. You would get 2 CS meals, 2 snacks and a refillable mug per person. It would cost the same price as the current basic DDP with both the basic and deluxe going up in price.

I wish they would do something like this. All the sit down meals just don't work for us but I like having everything paid for before hand.
I would like that plan.:thumbsup2

um, SHMU, you're ENCHANTING too?
Yep. Moved my PTR over there. Scott has PTR password protected and I feel safer. Especially since we have our kids on the PTR. Saw you found me in an email but haven't logged in yet to reply. I squeeled with delight when I saw you had found it.

I'm talking lounge pants and a tshirt with a bra on so the girls aren't swinging free!:rotfl:
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You guys are too funny! :goodvibes

What is a PTR?:confused3

DD had her extractions done yesterday (5 teeth-1 adult and 4 baby-one of the baby teeth was impacted) She was a champ and is doing great. :thumbsup2
I tell her she's on her way to a million dollar smile (probably cost us that in the end)even after braces she will need 2-3 implants because she is missing 5adult teeth(that was even before the one they "had" to pull) poor thing-but she's a trooper.

DH is in CO, called to tell me all about it-it's really hard to feel sorry for him, ya' know!:lmao:

Check back later-DD wants icecream little fiend-she knows I would never let her get away with that as a breakfast choice:goodvibes

My Annapolis Adventure
I left home at 7am met Ruth at 7:30 and got to York around 8. The Red Lion Bus took off at 8:30. We had another stop to pick up several but arrived at the Naval Academy in Annapolis around 10:15.
Our bus had to split into 2 groups for the tour. We had a 72 yr old NY Italian...who acted like the typical NY Italian. He was funny. We walked around and went into Bancroft Hall. This is the 2nd largest dormitory in the world, the largest is in Russia. They had a replica of a midshipmen dorm room. Memorial Hall was beautiful. They are very proud of their history and those graduates who went on to serve and honor our country. We were able to go into their Chapel. It was beautiful too. On the lower level is a beautiful Italian marble crypt where John Paul Jones is buried. He was born in Scotland in 1747but came to Virginia in 1773.
We next walked about 2 blocks toward the harbor and Philips Seafood where we walked upstairs and sat with a view of the harbor and boats. Some chef talked and demonstrated how to make crab cakes. Our lunch included soup, crab cake sandwich and ff, with cheesecake for desert. (Most at my table agreed the cheesecake was better than the crab cake .)
We had about an hour to walk around the shops near the harbor. We boarded the Harbor Queen for a 40 min ride. Ruth and I went topside and the wind kept us from getting too hot. It was a beautiful day. Time for us to leave...around 4:10. We knew the traffic would be bad.
Ruth and I had the 3rd row on the right. The traffic was bad but we had not stopped. It’s hard to tell how fast we are going in a big bus. I looked out the window and saw a blue car up near our door. It was swerving out of control. It was close to us...no swerved away...I could see the lady’s arms try and turn right but the car came closer to us and...crunch and scrape. I made some noise and Ruth looked kind of behind my head and saw her bang the medal guard rail. Our driver of course heard the crunch and had to move over the 2 lanes and get to the shoulder. By this time we had rounded a little bend and could not see behind us but traffic was still coming. Everyone on my side was saying what they saw. They said she hit the guard rail so hard, it lifted it up. The bus driver gets out and gets on his cell. Another man walked back with him to see what happened. The blue car ended up against the concrete barrier that divides the highway. No one was hurt. No other car hit. It really was a miracle. Apparently she claimed a green car hit her. She doesn’t remember hitting the bus. People up front in the bus thought she tried to swerve to miss debris that was falling off an SUV’s trailer. Anyway, we were there almost 2 hrs. The state policeman had to have all our names and addresses and birthday. He asked if we were hurt. Ruth and I got off bus because we saw her hit and had to verify to the policeman a blue car hit us. She hit just below me. The bus did not move sideways or anything. The bus driver said we were just at the wrong place at the wrong time. I feel just the opposite. If that lady had hit another car, who knows what would have happened. She certainly would not have bounced off like she did the bus. The state policeman told us there were 2 kids in the back seat. I really look at it as a miracle. We got back to York at 7:25. Ruth and I ate at Cracker Barrel and I was back home by 8:55.

Hope you can see why I was weary last night!

Morning all. Haven't caught up, but wanted to say "hi." Dropped DS off this morning at the Y for his very first field trip! (don't have time to surf... insert sappy crying mommy smilie here.) Seriously though, he's so excited. I can't wait to hear all about it when I pick him up tonight. :)

You guys are too funny! :goodvibes

As I said, haven't read thru, but caught this since its the last post. for DD. Poor little thing.
And, what's wrong w/ ice cream for breakfast? :rotfl: (Actually, can't be any worse than this sugary iced coffee I treated myself too today. ;) )

Back later...

Morning everyone! I had waffles for breakfast....

A PTR is a pre-trip report.

M&N! So glad to hear you're ok, but what a day you had! I've heard Annapolis is quite beautiful, I haven't had a chance to tour it, but I always pass the exits on my way down to Southern Maryland to visit the boys. Mmm...crab cakes. I love them! So glad that you were not hurt, and I agree, that woman's car could have done horrible damage to someone else. But to think of you taking 2 hours to deal with the police! Crazy!

Lighttech, aww...first field trip. Did you take pictures? You have to record all these milestones. I actually have a picture of myself on my first day of Catholic school in my uniform on my desk. It was so long ago! But its nice to see the girl I once was...

My cousin is visiting from Japan and is coming up for the weekend. I'm going out later with SIL to the grocers to buy supplies for the welcome back party/Happy 70th Birthday Dad that we'll have on Saturday. I get to choose the cake and make potato salad. We're grilling---one of the best parts of summer.

Have a good day all! looking like its going to be hot one up here! Wear sunscreen and stay hydrated...may be another coke float day. What do you think, M&N? Wanna have one with me?

 to you too.
We know how it feels to send your little one out in the world. I can tell you funny stories about 1st day of MDO at church-she blew me a kiss, I cried and couldn't pull out of the parking lot! First day of riding the bus to kindergarten-she blew me a kiss, I cried, and comtemplated following the bus but instead just paced until she returned. Are you seeing a pattern?
We always internalize the "problems/what if's" and they look at it as a grand adventure.
It reminds me of the line in Steel Magnolias, Shelby says, "Mamma, I never hafta worry, cause you always worry for me." :goodvibes

Sugary Iced Coffee? You're gonna have that baby doing Jazzercise!:rotfl2:

Afternoon everyone!!! Going to be another hot one here.

Bopsmom-What's wrong with ice cream for breakfast? It's got milk in it so that makes it healthy in my book. :rotfl: And the only reason I have the most posts is I've been playing catch-up with my post count. It has nothing to do with racing or kb (Now you hush M&N!

M&N-what a day you had. Thank goodness nobody was hurt. As for your meal, I would have skipped the crabcakes and just had a double serving of cheesecake.

lighttech- But I bed he's going to have so much fun. Hope you share some of it with us.

First day of kindergarten isn't bad here. Parents are welcome to join the class that day. Kind of like a meet and greet for everyone. But the second day of school, lets just say, I'm glad I only have one more to make it through.

MagiKitty-what kind of cake? You know, I have to know. Do you think we talk about food too much?

Shmu-one of these days I'm going to have to get up early to catch you on here.
