I guess you thought of me because I'm so bossy...it's the teacher in me. :lmao: Just get er done.

There were 8 at lunch. It was nice seeing old faces.

Hey guys!! I know...I know...I have not been around very much lately but "You were always on my mind" :lmao: Sorry I am just not clever enough to come up with smilies for that song.

Update on my Dad (news is not too bad...this time)

So my Dad went to the Thoracic Surgeon today and he was as "perplexed" with the test results as we were. Apparently our feeling was right about my Dads Pulmonary Dr. He did not come out and say it, but here is what he did say. My Dads tests are all inconclusive...:scared1: He said does not understand what they mean by "strains" of cancer etc... My Dad explained to the Dr. that he was clearly told he had Non Small Cell Carcinoma. This is the top Thoracic Dr. in the area BTW (Sentara Heart Hospital...big time here lol). Anyway he was concerned that my Dad was sent for surgery when it is not even clearly cancer according to the tests(still probable, not getting our hopes up yet) He said it could also be a lung infection. He said...and this was kinda funny "Much as I love cuttin' in to people I am just not comfortable cutting in to you when I am not sure what I am cutting...especially since it would take about half your lung" :scared1: )

Tomorrow he is going to be set up with appointments for a PET Scan, more blood work, a Cardiology Dr to be sure his heart is strong (in case surgery is indeed the option) and possibly another bronchoscope.

Guess we are back at the beginning. :confused3 They are MUCH happier with this Dr. though.

Just thought I would repost this as a reminder to get your pictures to Shmu pronto! I want to be able to go on vacation with all of you!

I need to do that! Let me go dig around for a pic.

I am going to go catch up now. Last time I said that I got all hooked on the smilie game and forgot to reply ha ha.

Okay, I took two. Which one should I send? I look like GARBAGE tonight but I can't find the other pics I saved a while back lol.

pepper-even though your dad seems to be back a square one, it sounds like that is where he needs to be. He will now be able to take the "correct" steps on his road to recovery. We are still all thinking about him.

Pikester-saw you little green light was on. Getting ready to watch Hell's Kitchen. Hoping Petroza wins.

pepper-second pic. You have great blue eyes and they really show up good in the second. :thumbsup2

Pikester-Oh my, this show is going to be a disaster. :rotfl: How did any of them ever like together in the beginning.

Okay..Second one it is!!! Yea, so I just realized I totally missed Hell's Kitchen and the DVR is not working right so they are sending us a new one. I am so used to it that I totally forgot!!! ARRRGGGHHHH. :rotfl:

Swollen blue eyes is more like it. Ha ha. But thanks for the compliment. :)

That is what all the smoke has done to them! They have actually gotten a little better yesterday and today. The smoke has wreaked havoc on my sinuses.

You are not back at the beginning. You have a dr your parents like and one who is not knife happy. He's getting his ducks in a row and looking at all the facts he can. Having a postive attitude and an understanding dr is sooo impt. Definitely more prayers for your dad and wisdom for the dr.

Knew that's where you would be. Who won?

That Jen! I would like to slap her! I wonder if she is really like that or if she played it up for the show. You would have thought that as much as she hated Christina she would have worked her butt off to help Patrozza.

Matt. That guy is such a whiny nut job! I do have to admit that I loved it when he beat Ben at the blind fold ingredient challenge.

I really liked Christina. There was just something about her!

The one thing that bothered me through out the whole show was the smoking. That is a personal choice and I could care less if they do it but I was always under the impression that smoking dulled your taste buds and as a chef wouldn't that effect you in some way? I didn't pay attention at the very start of the show but it seemed like after every service all of them would sit outside and have a smoke.

I went to the Hells Kitchen thread to find out who won and they were not saying...just the one they wanted didn't and I figured out who did. When I went back to comminity board listing I say racetrack just posted there so I went back and saw who won so you don't have to answer that now. I feel like a detective. :woohoo:

Just in case pepper finds a way to see the final episode Christina won. I'm pretty disappointed. I thought the other person ran their kitchen much better tonight.

Pikester-I agree 100% about Jen. I think she purposely tried to mess things up. I know you have to be confident but come on. And she absulutely showed she is not a team player. Matt just scares me. :lmao:

I just went back to the Hell's Kitchen thread and whited out the winner from my post. I didn't want anyone getting cranky at me in case they hadn't watched it yet. My Bad!

After reading other threads, I have 2 question for those of you who have taken their little ones to WDW.
Did they ever ask why Mickey didn't talk to them?
Were any scared of the costumes?

We have been to Disney once so far. Next trip is in 4 months 4 weeks and 1 day! The kids were 9 and 5 at the time. I just know I was breaking a Disney rule or something but I told both my kids that all the characters are just actors or people dressed up in a costume and the masked ones wouldn't talk. DS9 understood and posed with whomever we asked him to. DS5 also understood but was still very leery of the masked characters so we didn't push it. Goofy, Chip & Dale or whomever would just stand behind DS5 and we would snap a picture. I'm hoping that now that he is 7 he will be into it more. Older DS will be 11 when we go and he'll just go with the flow like before.

Ok, none of my kids have ever asked why they don't talk. Our first family trip was in 99 and my 2 oldest were 6 and 3. Not a word about it and neither were afraid of any characters.

Our next trip wasn't until 2005 and by that time we had 2 more children. Still not a word from any of them about Mickey not talking. The youngest 2 understood what he was "saying" even if he couldn't talk. DD5 (3 and 4 at the time of our last trips) was never afraid of any character. But then, she's not afraid of anything. :lmao: DD7 (5 and 6 on our last trips) wasn't afraid of Mickey, Minnie, etc. But if it was "bad guys" or someone she wasn't too familiar with, she would opt out of the meet and pictures. No big deal, we always told her that she could walk right past the character and wait close by where we could see her.

You know I cannot keep things straight but wasn't somebody doing surfing lessons? But where? I just saw a post that said surfing lessons at TL were suspended for a time??? They said it's because there are cracks in the wave pool and so they have to tone down the waves till they're repaired during the winter refurb. I don't know if that's true, though. This is the thread: http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1879096
