HelloHelloHelloHello
It doesn't work Pikester. No one's here now either. (ouch, my toe hurts!)

Whgrn: Way to go. I guess you are past the plateau. Keep it up.

sure seems that way. Must be all the exercise I get chasing after my kids when they're being awful:furious: (like now) I get so sick of their garbage! (sorry, venting again...)

OK, I've barely skimmed the past few pages, and I'm outta time... but I'm gonna post a little anyway... ;)

Shmu - Wow! Hugs for DS. What a wonderful relationship he and DH must have, and what a selfless act he performed.

Magsnden - I'm at 28 now, and I feel huge too! The heat hasn't kicked in too bad yet, luckily... I know I'll be feeling it by the end of August though... Hang in there!

Kim - Keep on poundin' the pavement girl! "This too shall pass" is always one of my favorite mantras during tough times. Someone will realize that they are missing a great employee soon enough.

Racetrack, et al - Same deal... must be a Northeast thing. We always spent time at the Jersey SHORE. But, everywhere else was the beach. And, as others said, once we were at the SHORE, then we could decide whether or not to go to the BEACH that day.

Whgrn - Woo Hoo! Grey suit here you come!

Everybody else - I know I've missed a ton, but I'm beat, and I gotta get some stuff done.

Oh, forgot, I don't want to leave you hanging on the daycare thing. (That's why I'm beat).

I'll try to be quick, and fill in more later...

Took DS for a 1/2 day today, and I sat in on it. He loves being w/ so many kids and all the "activeness" of the day. WAY diff't than not being allowed to run or jump or march at the babysitters, and not going outside either. Today they did jumping jacks, danced, went for a walk AND played in the "mini gym" at the Y. And that was just before lunch.

I didn't love it as much as he did, but I'm trying to let it go, at least for now. Its a bit chaotic for my taste. There's a lot of kids, and not a lot of teachers, and, although I appreciate the "kids will be kids" attitude, there was an awful lot of wandering around the classroom and generally not listening to the teachers, and not a lot of repurcussions. I'm far from the strictest mom in the world, but I think that if there are rules, they should be followed. Like, after lunch, the kids are supposed to pick out a book and go to their mats and lay down to wait for lights out (nap time.) The teachers are obviously occupied cleaning up from lunch and helping w/ potty time, etc. (Its 2-3 yr olds). But, like 1/2 the class was wandering around w/ blankets on their heads playing w/ each other and generally disrupting the kids who were trying to do as they were told. I must have heard 15 idle threats from the teacher about "ok, everyone is supposed to be on their mats... who's not getting a popsicle at snack time?" Granted, everyone did quiet down at lights out, but that was pretty typical of the day.

Like I said, nothing major. It wasn't like kids were wandering out of the classroom or anything, but a lot more chaos and general disregard for the teachers than I would have liked. Its probably the one thing from the other schools that we visited that I would have liked to have seen... they were just much more orderly and respectful, and that's 2 things we are really trying to teach DS. (The other schools were also out of our price range, and couldn't accomodate our hours, so... )

So, DS is thrilled to go back for his first full day tomorrow, and I'm REALLY happy for him and SO GLAD he's excited. But, I do think I'm really going to keep an eye on what he picks up.

Thanks for the :listen:

Oh, but we did have a wonderful day. I promised him that the second 1/2 of the day would be no "mommy jobs" and just fun time. So, we stopped at Walmart and splurged on a "wacky wiggler sprinkler" (hours of fun in my $8 price range). Stopped for a cookie (and coffee for mom) then went home and played outside and I let him soak me w/ the hose. A quick bath and he asked if we could cook, so we made some muffins. Then, it was dinner, and he got treated to a Mickey Mouse Club House video while we ate. A few more minutes of playtime, clean up and off to bed. It was a really nice day, and, although I didn't get anything done... I need to remember to do more of those where he really is the center of my day. I had a great time too!

Looks like I missed everyone again. :( Just sitting here listening the helicopters that are part of the movie filming.

Kim-I have my fingers crossed for you. I'm sure something will come along soon.

D&DDisney-those gift baskets sound wonderful. Like the idea of the coffee beans for the smell. Tell DH that I'm sorry. I'm sure Kyle won't win this week to everyone else can be happy now.

lighttech-sounds like DS had a wonderful first 1/2 day at daycare. :goodvibes The morning sounded like it was pretty structured with activities and that's good. But it sounds like once lunch was done, all the structure went out the door a little. You are right about if there are rules, they have to be followed no matter what. And if they are not, there has to be some kind of consequence pretty quick. Kids are pretty quick to pick up on whether or not there are going to be any realy consequences to their behavior. Maybe the teachers need to leave the lunch mess until all the kids are settled with there books?

I hope it all works out for you (& him). Maybe the lack of structure will be relaxing? I know it's hard to send our babies to somewhere that isn't "our way". (wait til you have to choose a summer camp!)

Morning Killers, a pouring buckets day here! Guess DS's school pool party will be cancelled hope they have a rain date.

Well, I live in New Jersey, and we ALWAYS go "down the shore". And when we're there, we're "down the shore". But when we are "down the shore" and deciding what to do that day, we'll say, should we go to the beach today?

EXACTLY!!!! And the revision is a replacement. It's just a revision of the first replacement which was 13 years ago. I don't know if it's the new type, I think they have to use the same as what's there already.

Down 3.2 pounds this week! And I lost an inch in my bust and waist, and 1/2 inch in my hips, since May 14th! WooooHoooo!! My sister ordered shorts from Talbots and shipped them here. So I decided to try them on (size 18W) and they fit! So I called her and thanked her for the new shorts!:lmao: She got a kick out of that, and said I'm welcome to try on anything that comes for her. Who knows, maybe we'll share clothes in Scotland!

I now weigh less than my mom and only a few pounds more than my sister--and that will soon change!! Today I'm wearing denim capris and a striped tank top and from the side I look positively slender! The front view, well, that's still wide, and I suspect it always will be. But I'm OK with that. Oh yeah, and my BMI is down to 40.3, so in just a few pounds I will no longer be classified as morbidly obese! YAY!!!!!!!

Well, I'm off to play with my WiiFit (just hooked it up today) and see if I can work on my balance issues.

exactly if you are down the shore you have to decide if you are going to the beach, but if you are down the shore and someone calls you from home and asked where are you don't you say 'down the shore':rotfl:

Wow is that on both knees??? How come it has to be done again? That's right don't they only have a certain 'life', thats why they do it on older people in hopes that it only has to be done once. Are they waiting till Jan. since you are still losing? Well you have a while to enjoy your summer and the holidays, and your mom is so computer savy at least we know she can check in for you.:goodvibes.
Way to go:cool1: keep up the good work!!!!

Hello everyone.

I live about 3 miles from the ocean and I call it the beach.

Was out today putting in more applications. Oh what fun it is. Nothing yet. I can't believe that with the busy season coming in 2 weeks that someone won't hire me. I feel very useless at this point. I guess tomorrow is another day.

Kim

Ah when DS lived in VA we always went to the beach:goodvibes! Hang in there get those apps in now, cause busy season is upon them soon that phone will ring.

Overall it sounds like a nice place and he seemed to be happy and have fun, so that is a big, big part of it if he is happy and content there. Don't worry, as you know with just one kid some days are easier then others so maybe the kids were just in that type of mood. As time goes on you will see and it is something that you can address down the line if it still concerns you. For now it sounds like DS is enjoying a little freedom sounds like babysitter was a little over the top on 'her rules', and he will enjoy making new friends:goodvibes
Sounds like a great day with DS, and it is true that is what it is about all those other things will be there waiting to get done:goodvibes
It's a good thing as Martha would say:rotfl:.

Hi racer chick, sorry to have missed you. How exciting about the movie, okay maybe not the Helicopters hovering:rotfl2:

Oh yeah, D&D forgot to multi about the baskets, what a great idea!!!!! Might have to steal that one. You run out of things for all the 'special' teachers, you know not the main one which we do a collection and get a visa card but all the gym spanish etc. Sounds great.

Okay trying to keep up to date so I don't end up like last month:eek:, nothing going on much here. DD has Drs. appt. to keep a check on her Asthma. Have to call her school only received work from one teacher:confused3 , Though I did get a message from Guidance and all she wants is the note from the Dr. since 'Sister' is asking for it. Well I want my daughters work they will get there note. Thats about it folks!
Talk to you later!!!!

We had a thunderstorm last night so I wasn't on again. Thank Kyle for allowing someone else to win this week! Like that's going to happen--the let part.
I agree that the coffee idea was good. Something everyone would use even if they don't drink coffee. A person can only use so much stationary or candles.
Lighttech: It may not always be that much disorganization. When I had parents in I sometimes let things go that I would not have otherwise. I was pretty strict. He knows what you expect from him--of course it doesn't and won't always happen. I think it would be very confusing for little ones to see some getting away with stuff when they are not following the rules---I have a hard time with it to this day. How do you get your guy to keep obeyingin a situation like that is hard. I hope a lot of positive reinforcement works for him. I'm sure there are mommies out there that would say it didn't for them. Special 'him' times are important---especially when it's not just going to be him anymore. I took a child psychology class in grad school and at the end the prof said you can read all about other's ideas but what works best in the end is how you feel about it and what works best for you. And for that he made us buy his book and take tests? :)
They're calling for thunderstorms again today. Hopefully I'll be back on tonight.

Both need to be done, but I'll just do the left one in January. I did them both together the first time--NEVER AGAIN!!:scared1: They don't last forever, and with my weight having been so high for so much of the time, it shortened the "life" of the implants. I was 34 the first time, I'll be 48 this time. Hopefully these will last 20 years with my lower weight, and I'll keep them until my late 60s. I'm waiting for January so I can change my insurance to something that will actually pay for the surgery (my HMO doesn't "participate' with this doctor or hospital). but the delay will have the bonus of less of me by then! The doctor would like to see me under 200# (I wouldn't mind either!) but we'll see where I end up. NOT that 31 pounds in 7 months is unreasonable--it certainly isn't. Possibly even more. I just don't know what my body is gonna do as the weight gets lower. I won't kill myself to lose the weight. Once i hit 210, I'm going to just keep doing what I'm doing, and see where I end up. I'd LOVE to be in the 180s, but that may be a pipe dream.

Dreary day here today. I have to take DD up for an EEG and to see the neuro. Hopefully all is fine with the decrease in meds. She certainly seems more alert these days.

Later Killers!

Just popping in real quick at lunch.

Thanks for all the support about DSs daycare... I can always count on you guys.

Pretty cool about the movie, they were just shooting Marlee (sp?) and Me near our house... unfortunately, I didn't have time to get into town to check out the shoots.

I know someone asked about the lighting set ups and some sort of "tent" a few pages back that QVC does. If it was here in W. Chester, then there's a good chance I was involved. If it was one of our "remote productions" like from one of the races, then I wasn't. I do those sometimes, but its been a few years since I did any road shows (I like to be closer to home now. :) )

Ok, take care everybody.

Oh... Wgrn - Glad to hear things seem to be going well w/ DD. Hope it continues in the right direction.

And, Kim, have you thought about looking somewhere where the pay might not be great but they have benefits for part-timers? (Like Wegmans or something.) I don't know what DHs situation is, but if you are currently doing benefits thru his employer, and you could do it thru a part-time job instead, you might be able to funnel more money into DHs take home paycheck and you would work for the bennies.

Hey guys!

Just popping in to say hello. Our server is down for a few (Accounting system) so I figured I would take a few and say hello. I have not read back but I hope everyone is doing good.

Oh just a quick update: My dad had his test yesterday and we are now waiting on the results. The Dr. said something is growing in there, but he is not sure what. He does not want to speculate. Still staying positive. Pray for good news. The steroids he prescribed for the pnemonia seem to be working so I am still holding out hope that it is just some leftover "crud".

I will get caught up later tonight...or I will try to anyway. ;)

Evening everyone! Storms look like they are heading our way...again. Sitting here in relative peace and quiet for a change. DH took the 2 older girls down the where the movie is filming. DS is grounded to his room right now and youngest DD is contently playing by herself. Of course this will most likely be the last moment of peace I get until school starts again. :rotfl2:

pepper-it sounds like your dad's doctor is being pro-active instead of reactive. I've learned from experience how important that is. But that waiting is the worst part. Spent plenty of time with the waiting part, and I'm afraid I may have to go through it again. But keep thinking positive...I alway do. Still keepin you all im my prayers.

lighttech-I can understand the part about not doing the road shows and being closer to home. Two years ago, at DH's former employer, they decided to send him to Miami for a job. He was told it would be 8 week job and it turned into 6 months. After that, the relationship with his employer went downhill. Even though the money was great at the time, it still didn't make up for all that we missed.

whgrn-how'd things turn out with DD? All went well, I hope.

disney54us-missed you again. I'm going to have to take a moment in the morning to get on here and see you. :lmao:

M&N-where are you? I hope you aren't getting hit with storms again.

pepper & kim-Just saw about all the nasty weather down in Virginia. Hope you guys are ok. Check in when you can.

I will get caught up later tonight...or I will try to anyway. ;)
Prayers for your Dad.

Hello racetrack18kb!

Hey guys...storms went south of us but not sure if more are coming. Think I had better say HI before anyone leaves. Hunt for smilie later. Pikesters wore me out!

Smilie question... is this guy sweating or getting rained on? I was trying to find a hot smilie---temperature wise not attitude wise. :rotfl:

I'm depressed. Just lurked and saw a tag fairy thread but all them had 2 and 3 tags and here I am talking to myself again. Pikester saw my green light and left and that #18 is just too fast for me.
