Finally a moment to sit and relax. It was a beautiful though busy day here today.

lighttech-woohoo to DS One week with no diapers...isn't funny how little makes us happy now that we are parents. Dinosaur party sounds cool. And so does the cake. Though I'd have to pay someone to bake one for me.

M&N-Oooh, new dinsey shows. Now that's a cause for a party too. I love watching all those show even if I have seen them a dozen times before. I saw those threads "at this moment" too. I read the first few pages but had to stop. Brought tears to me eyes just reliving alot of those moments. Yeah, I"m a total crybaby.

disney54us-I'll have to check out the craft stores and see if I can find something. Maybe I'll get a jump on DD6's school papers too. I guess if DD12 can go to Disney on a school trip, I should be able to get rid of some of her old papers.

MagiKitty-Yeah, let BF keep the mousepad. But you get to pick out a new one in Disney. It's just more shopping time for you. And since you were so wonderful to let him have this one right away, there can be no complaints while you debate about which one to buy down there. to your mom. I"ll keep my fingers crossed as well.

D&DDisney- Sorry about what might happen at DH's job. I've seen alot of threads on here dealing with the same thing. I can't believe how horrible things have gotten. But you do still have vacation planned and that's great in itself. And cheers to you for making the responsible decision for your family. Or you could go to the budget board and cry your eyes out about financial problems and then add how you have a deluxe disney vacation planned. Oh, the fights you could cause over there. Only kidding.

pepperw23-how's the promotion going? Didn't you say you solved your first problem last week? How'd that turn out? Good luck with convincing DH about the trip. Tell him it's now or never. We went around that same time last year. But we didn't get free dining...missed it by one day. It was ok for us though because the parks were very quiet.

The promotion is going good, and so far so good on the idea.

I got some resistance from the "disgruntled employee" at first, but I handled it with OOBA kindness and she came round. Seems that there is "one in every crowd" ha ha.

She has been treated pretty bad though and they put her in my group because I am "so friendly and can turn her around" ha ha. That is actually the latest development.

Beaker (AKA New guy) started. He is quite strange, but he picked up on the job pretty quick so; Eh; live and let live.

I loaned him my GPS yesterday because he is brand new to the area, and this morning he came in and said he ended up at my house. Yea, totally need to be more careful and take out the home address next time. Freaked me out at first until he explained he thought I put his address in there under "home" (and they let me manage an office ha ha ha...suckers... )

Well heck, I was gonna sit and chat with ya for a while, but DH needs to do his paperwork. I have been "hogging" the desktop all night and both laptops are in use lol.

I was watching tv. I had to flip between Dancing with the stars and Biggest Looser. A female won Biggest...I really don't intend to get that low. My dr told me to try for 25-30 and then hold that for several months and then go for more. I really cannot think that much because it's so hard. The kids dancing are so cute. I wouldn't want to have to vote for them.
I got a little gnome sitting under a mushroom, reading. It's solar. We finally had sun to charge it. The mushroom lights up. He looks cute on my front porch.
Yeah for big boy pants. My friend's 4yr old still wears diapers. Don't know how he's going to KDG. He's in nursery school though for 3 half days.

Hey Guys!

I wanted to check in. I haven't been able to keep up much. I'm at the 2 month mark and I have been seeing another man-TourGuideMike

It's also been just crazy here. I've been "killin' snakes" figuratively and literally.

I did finally get DD's birthday gift in from CA and spent Saturday building a mint green 3-speed bike (like my pink one) on the floor of the foyer (DH was MIA-again) she loves to go riding with me now.

DD was accepted to the Gifted and Talented Academy for our district and we have been rushing through tours and orientations for both middle schools so she can decide.

Disney54usI finally bought a 4 drawer file cabinet and a file for each year. I also had DD sit down and said to her, "what are you going to want to take with you when you have a place of your own?"she cut through a lot of things, she was much more "brutal" than I was.

All this talk of trolling and journal reading...what's happening to our innocent TKers? Suspecting that someone was trolling is actually the reason I got a warning once that led to the thread lock. I meant no harm but was sure the person who started the thread was a troller because he/she was asking a very OBVIOUS question about pool hopping and made some other troll like comments. I made a sarcastic/funny comment back and I was the one who got in trouble. Go figure. Learned my lesson quick.

Well, I did not try for Free Dinning as my DH came home from work the other night and said things at his job were getting unstable - looks of selling off the business. He had just been downsized out of a company he worked for over 10 years in 2006, so he can read the writing on the wall. Nothing has been told to the employees yet, but we decided to play it safe and try to save rather than spend money right now. Our Denver trip isn't costing us much except for gas since campsites are only $18 per night and we bring our own food. However, I may have to say good-bye to my "Waiting to Inhale" siggie for now. Bummer! Might have to change it to
"I Didn't Inhale 2008"

Sorry to hear about DH and job. Hopefully it will turn around. Go on the recipe thread and cook a few Disney recipes to hold you over, then you'll have Denver and camping to work it off.

They have the best timing don't they! But, hey, I'm not complaining.... that's actually our current big news. DSalmost3 has been in big boy underpants for almost 2 whole days now!! Add that to the couple of days in pull-ups w/o incident and I am SO excited!!! (knock wood and stuff.) DH kept saying... "I just want like 1 week w/o diapers before the baby comes... just a small break please!" So, we've got a drawer stocked w/ DSs first big Disney purchases... Cars underpants, MickeyMouseClubHouse underpants... and Diego?? Not sure where that one came from... we don't even watch it.



Its a dinosaur party. I spent most of the morning cutting out dinosaur silhouettes so DS can color them later today to use for decorations. I'm going to try a cool volcano cake I saw online... we'll see how it goes. You use Fluff and food coloring and dry ice to make it actually erupt!


So sorry! Its getting kind of scary all over right now. I hope everything goes well with DHs job. Good for you for being sensible about the spending though. Its always good to be prepared. Not exactly the kind of suprise you want to be blindsided with. Hope its all just the general economic air of worry and not anything to be concerned about. BTW - "I Didn't Inhale"

Mine was missing the tinkerbell pin. Oh well I would have lost it anyway ha ha.

I am currently hoping to go Aug 24th -29th. Wish me luck and pixie dust. I just gotta come up with the dollars. I can do it though and worse case? I pay the deposit and do the "pay as I go" plan. Not getting too excited yet, but I have managed to drum up some interest out of DH when I mentioned "free food". Now if I can just get him to understand I gotta book NOW or there will be "no room at the inn".

Now, DH...I'm not sure he's going to make it through this. He always tries to act big and tough about these things but I know inside that he's freaked. Makes me love him more.

Mmmm, what does Tour Guide Mike do for me? Well, if I told you, my DH might have grounds for divorce. Seriously, it's an on-line guide to disney that you have to pay for. He's supposedly a professional VIP tour guide in the parks. He shares what he has learned in all the years that he has been doing this. He tells you what park should be least crowded for any given day of the year. He also gives basic itineraries on how to tour the parks. It's very basic plans but it also teaches you how to adapt your own plans into what he lists. With just my family, it comes in handy because we have such broad age ranges. Some people love it, others don't. It's alot of info and some of it you can right here.

The economy does stink right now but things could be worse. We're not that bad off yet. I still have my PT job and was offered a contract for next year. Yeah! We're just being extra cautious of our spending just in case.

It's just a small group of students who had to write an essay and get accepted into the program. This is an "educational" trip. They all had to keep grades up, stay out of trouble, and attend bi-monthly meetings. When they come back, they have to put on a presentation about the trip. They have a lot of school work they have to do while they are there too. It may be a trip to Disney but none of the students are getting a free pass from school while they are gone. She'll be exhausted every night but I'm sure she thinks it all worth it.

I just blew it...nothing new for me. I do remember she is taking that neat class. Will the students work together on the presentation? That sounds like a good experience to have to present their info. Being an elem librarian, I didn't have to work with final products...just the research part.
