Hi Killers, okay DS at school till 3, Magikitty I think you may have thought I was going to look at colleges w/DS. No he's in grade school still, his school was closed (oh that's right they like to say merged:rolleyes:), and he is going to visit the school around here. Waiting for window guy to measure hope he's on time and quick so I can pick up on time. Hoping he likes it (DS, I'm talking about), it's strange having to meet all new kids, he knows some from the neighborhood, I just hope all goes well. As I said b/f the parents are having just as hard time with the school closing since we love it there. Okay window guy came measured and went.

Finally caught up with everything and have a little time. All the kids are home from school for spring break and I have spent half the day playing referee.

whgrn :scared1: What a day you had. But DS's friends did exactly the right thing even if it caused more trouble. Thank goodness he has friends that really care about him. Those can be hard to come by. And I don't even know what to say about DD. Very much the entrepreneur isn't she? :lmao: And no, you are not a "mean mommy". Way better to be straight to the point with punishment. Bet she won't forget this lesson.

D&DDisney-more snow....isn't today the first day of spring? :confused3 Sending a bunch of :sunny: Hope the weather person is wrong.

lighttech-wasn't our winter just wonderful? We didn't have any snow days here...just ice days. Absolutely no fun for the kids unless the wanted to ice skate down the street. :rotfl: Even thought I hate snow, I want the kids to have at least one big snow storm to really enjoy it. We are saving up to move to florida in the next couple of years so they don't have too many winters left to enjoy the snow. PS....I hope I didn't offend you with the "needs and wants" stuff. I know you know all about them...it's part of life nowadays. Just trying to help :goodvibes

disney54us-Nope, DH never found his wallet. Everything is cancelled so it really only cost him an afternoon of running around. Just glad he realized it right away and was able to take care of everything before there could be any charges on anything. Here's a littlepixiedust: that all works out for your DN. I was induced for my youngest and though it was nice to know what day she was arriving, I hated spending all day at the hospital. I would have much rather been at home.

Oh my no! I wasn't offended at all. Just commiserating. I just meant that its suprising how much you realize you don't need when your priorities change.

Saving up to move to Florida huh? Sounds very exciting!

dis54us...you're totally right! I was thinking of checking out schools on the college level. So, since the schools are being merged, there's a choice of which to go to? Or are you considering private school? Forgive me, but are you the one whose Catholic school was closing?

Today is the first day of spring? :rotfl2: Its is really really cold here, but I did manage to see the sun for about five minutes earlier. I'll believe it when I see it (and boy do I want to see it!) :woohoo:

woo-hoo! We're all going to visit dreamin when they move down to the Sunshine state...but will you chance your name to dreamin in fl? :rotfl:

Oh good. Yeah, priorities keep changing. No more children for us but now it's the move that made everything change. Now are vacations to Florida are also scouting trips. Adds more excitement to the plans to check out the different areas down there. We are not moving for Disney either (a nice bonus but not the reason). DH isn't close to anyone in his family except for his brother. His brother's wife' career has finally landed them in Florida and DH really wants to live closer to them. We all get along great and the kids are fast friends even though they don't see each other much. There are a variety of other reasons too. But I think DH really needs this.

MagiKitty-Nope, won't change my name to dreamin in fl.....maybe lovin life in fl :lmao: Of course you all better come to visit. DH keeps saying we should get a house with one of the in-law suites attached for when everyone visits. :goodvibes

I haven't been on here too much lately....has magsnden been around? I didn't see if she posted about her weekend yet but maybe I just missed it. Hope all is well with her.

Looks like we are the only ones on here. Right now, we are looking at a couple of places right in between Tampa and Orlando. Our favorite so far is a town called Lakeland. We saw quite a few reasonably priced homes that back right up to a lake, hence the name. DH loves fishing and would love nothing more than to come home from work and spend a hour just relaxing by the lake. DBIL wants us to move closer to them (they live right outside Tampa) but our incomes are way different. We'll probably take a trip over while we are on vacation again this year.

Having a quiet Easter here too. After the Christmas we had with SIL, we all need a quiet holiday. :lmao: We'll walk up to my dad's to visit but otherwise we are taking it easy. I'm going to try to make the dip for at our house. At least everyone here will try it. It will give us something to munch on while we are hiding Easter eggs for the hundreth time. :rotfl2:

Nope, haven't seen Magsnden around.
We definitely need a report on that trip.

Do we need to start a call like we did for Magikitty when she was away...

Yooooo-hoooooo.... Maaaaaagsndeeeennnn....?!?!?!?:listen:

I've thought alot about leaving my family and it makes me kinda sad. There's been alot of drama in our family that is still going on. I get really tired of it and really just want to live in peace for a while. I'm very close to my dad and stepmom now but they even talk about moving away from here. I don't see it as leaving my family anymore. We will still be close in hearts but just living somewhere else.

My parents left their families after 2 yrs of marriage--both about 22. Mom says it was good for them. They didn't get involved in the brother/sister disputes and had no one telling them what to do. We were our own little family but we visited every summer. When my dad died in 1990 some thought mom would move back but she said my family is here not there anymore.

I think if you change your name you loose your posts. :confused3

I'm going on a cross walk tomorrow--Good Friday. Never heard of it but my friend invited me. We start at a church in Lancaster and hear scripture, short meditation and sing. Then walk to the next church and so forth til we get done with the words from the cross. It's supposed to be a mile of walking too for the whole circut. Just praying the weather isn't bad.

Thanks for the buddy list info lighttech. Going there after I PEEP. :)

Going to church in the AM of course, and that's it as far as celebrating Easter. The kids are with the ex, since his family does Easter in a big way, and mine doesn't do anything. I'm making the pilgrimage to Whole Foods and going to hang out with DMom. DDad has been away but will be back that afternoon in time for dinner. We'll probably go out to eat. If my gym was open, I'd go there too, but they are closed for the holiday. Bummer...

I would love to move to Florida, but just for the winters. I HATE NJ winters! My dad wants to move out of NJ becuase the taxes are so high and the corrupt government is awful. He wants to move to PA--somewhere between Yardley and Bethlehem. Mom refuses to move. I'm glad, since I don't want them farther away than they are now (40 minutes). Personally, I wish they lived in town! When I moved away from home in 95, when I got married, I thought it was the best thing ever, and it probably was at the time. Now my life and my kids' lives are here, and I wouldn't even think of moving back home, but I wish I wasn't so far from them. And my sister, being 5000 miles away, well, I won't even GO there!! I wish she lived next door!

Hate winters just as much as you. Fall and spring are pretty bad too. I just love buying halloween constumes at least one size too big so that I can fit 3 layers of clothing under them. Spring we could start off with winter jackets in the morning and be in t-shirts in the afternoon. I'm sure you know all the complaints about the weather here. Everyone always says it's too hot in Florida and you have the dreaded hurricanes. I think lighttech listed the kind of weather extremes we get around here and I'll take the hot weather anyday over what we get.

I truly love my family but it's time to go. We just need to go and start off fresh somewhere else. Even our kids are excited about moving. We've talked alot about it with the kids to explain that we wouldn't be able to see everyone like we do now. It will be hard to go but in the long run, I know it's what we need to do as a family.

Got it! My BIL and SIL moved down there with that same line b/t Tampa and Orlando, so pm me and I will give you more info. What I do know is some of there friends did the same, bought property and then built when they were ready to go. There home is beautiful and you can get much more for your money then in the East Coast. They moved a little further out then, they are happy with. Of course they didn't realize that being 20 mins. closer to Tampa does make a difference of not feeling like huh, who the hec are these people and what are we doing here?? There friends who bought went a little close to what EC people call civilized:confused3.
Sounds like you try to 'manage' the family happiness, so you know what, go for it if this could give you and DH peace and happiness to enjoy your life and your kids, why not!! As much as we would all like that Normal Rockwell family, when you are married and have kids you have to start with 'your' family and happiness. We can't be responsible for every one else, and kill our selves trying.

She made her life with her family:thumbsup2 good for her.
I love that idea about Good Friday, sorry to say I haven't been involved to much due to the politic's of school closings, but I always loved Holy Week. It was special and I miss that, just like I will miss seeing the kids next year do stations. I don't think they have ever done something like that around here, maybe since they are all competing with each other they wouldn't think of that. I know not nice (especially during Holy Week), but thats just it, I love how your the churches are all coming together.
