Hi Killers
Finally getting a chance to relax. I am totally exhausted in every possible way. It has been quite a couple of days.
Yesterday, after leaving my phone in the car while I was at the gym (no phones allowed--I will NEVER obey that rule again!), I returned to a call from DS's school (they'd called twice while I was in the gym). They needed me to come into school and meet with the counselor and the case manager from the child study team. OKayyyy. LOOOOOONG story short, walking to class in the AM, DS and 2 friends (who are wonderful boys who I adore) were talking about whether John Lennon and George Harrison were in heaven. DS replied something about that he would commit suicide and find out. One friend got scared and told the teacher what DS had said, and the 3 boys were called in to talk to the counselor. DS got scared, thought he was in trouble, and clammed up, which is when they called me. I had to go in (to the PRINCIPAL's OFFICE!!

) and then had to take DS home with me. They said I could take him to the crisis center at the hospital or to the his psych, but he couldn't come back until he was cleared. So we saw the psych, no problem, it was an offhand remark, didn't mean anything, he certainly is not suicidal in any way, etc. But it scared the wits out of both of us (and also pointed out how blessed DS is to have such good friends, who did exactly the right thing, even though it was much ado about nothing)
Today I had to call the cruise line (we are going on a Mississippi riverboat cruise this summer with my parents and brother), because they had left a message while my parents were away, asking if they were still going on the cruise. Huh? So I call and the guy tells me that my parents' reservation was cancelled for lack of payment. WHAT?!? The entire thing was paid in full in December! We booked a year in advance so Mom could have the handicapped cabin she needs, and now they've cancelled???

Turns out, when my sister cancelled HER family's cabin, they also had to cancel her DD, who was staying with my parents. In order to do that, they had to cancel and rebook my parents, which I knew, and this was done a few weeks ago. Well, apparently when they rebooked, the payment didn't transfer to the new booking. So now we have a cancelled reservation--what do we do? The guy fixed everything, they still have their cabin, the payment was transferred, but it was quite a scare for a while there!
Just when I thought I was in the clear, I get a call from DD's school. The counselor. OMG, NOW what?!?!

OK, so apparently, on Monday, DD and friends were talking about video games, DSs, PSPs, etc. A boy said he wished he had a PSP, and DD said "I'll sell you mine for $100". Only problem is, she doesn't HAVE a PSP--it's her brother's!! She told me Monday that a boy at school wanted to buy the PSP for $100, and I explained that it isn't hers to sell, it's Danny's. End of story...I thought. Well, apparently, said boy showed up at school yesterday with a crisp $100 bill and gave it to DD!!! And today she was to bring him the PSP. Somehow, other kids found out she was walking around with $100 (since yesterday!!

), and they told the counselor. She called in DD and the boy, got the details, and called me, and also the boy's mother (who has to come to school to collect the money). Well, when I hung up the phone, I just burst out laughing. I was completely hysterical! I told DS what was happening, and he couldn't believe it--ran to check and make sure the PSP was still here (it was). So I told him, go get the 2 lifesize Zac Efron standups in DDs room and put them in my closet. When she got home, she tells me she needs to talk to me. She starts telling her story and I burst out laughing! I couldn't help myself! She tells the story, as if she is all innocent, and says SHE went to the counselor because she didnt' know what to do about the money. I prodded a bit, and asked if she was sure it was her idea, or was it maybe because someone else found out about the money and told the counselor and DD got called down to talk to her? She looked absolutely stricken, like HOW could I know?!?! She said "you got the phone call?" Yes I did my dear!!! I couldn't stop laughing! I told her to go look at her room. She came out asking where her cutouts were (she LOVES those things). DS told her he sold them to pay for a new PSP since she sold his for $100. At that point, I thought I was going to bust a gut laughing. (I am SUCH a bad Mommy!!) She ran in her room, threw herself on her bed, and sobbed. DS and I went and got the Zacs, and stood there laughing our heads off telling her to open her door. I said, "have you learned a lesson?" Yup, she sure did! And there will be no selling of her brother's possessions (or anything else!) at school. When she went to bed tonite, I said "please don't sell my laptop!"
To top it all off, I had ordered 3 pieces of wrought iron furniture for my family room/kitchen. The first one came last week, and when I opened it, the wood top was badly scratched, and 1/2 the hardware for assembly was missing. I called the company, and I'd already gotten the new wood top, but still no hardware. Today I decided to put the other 2 pieces together. guess what. BOTH pieces are missing 1/2 the hardware! I called the company, apologized in advance for the fact that I was mad as a hornet, and told my sad tale. The woman was very kind and helpful, agreed that this was totally unacceptable, and is shipping out new hardware immediately. In the meantime, I have the makings of 3 peices of furniture strewn across my family room!
THIS IS SOOOO NOT THE LIFE I SIGNED UP FOR!!!
I need a nap...
