Morning all...I must say, for a bunch of people hanging out on the Dis too often, y'all are certainly exciting!

:Welcome: back rochmom! We were worried about you. Thought we'd lost you in the "move" to the CB. Now that we know that its your busy time of the year, we hope to see you more often after next month. We missed you!

I CANNOT BELIEVE SOMEONE STOLE FROM A YOUNG GIRL. I am so upset by this! What the heck is wrong with people??? To think of somone taking the opportunity to ruin a very special time for someone else for greed! And I've heard that the Hannah tix were not cheap to begin with....so someone had money in the seats behind. I am so so sorry that this happened at all. I just want to kick something! (BTW, I'm a huge fan of the Chicks with...stuff. I have a tank top that says "Chick with Brains")

So glad to hear you had a great time this weekend Magsnden! Was your font so small coz you were whispering this morning? Tell us more! Was the Prom a play or a party? I've attended Proms at clubs, where everyone gets dressed up in horribly frou-frou garb, and its so much fun!

dreamin...you should totally charge for your vacation services. People who put off planning just make it so much harder for themselves. Its so much fun to plan! There is little room for mistakes and accidents. And you get to look forward to your trip so long in advance. But I'm with you, if they don't want to plan and don't appreciate the time and effort it takes, give them a copy of your itinerary (not too far in advance or else they'll just copy yours) and go off and have a good time of your own.

Bopsmom....The Anne series is one of my faves of all time. So sweet and wonderful for you and your DD to be sharing that together. They made a few movies of them years ago--I highly recommend them. If you can't find them at your local video store, let me know if you're interested in them, and perhaps I can send a little :pixiedust: your way. I still have a little crush on Gilbert Blythe.

Sign me up for the "ditch everyone else" trip too!

I think its wonderful the special touches everyone seems to put on their kids' birthdays. I can't believe how creative and talented y'all are! Take lots and lots of pictures! And, I agree, a lopsided cake covered in chocolate looks just as yummy to me.

I keep running Edgar (my Roomba has now been baptized), and he's doing great, and I forget to take his picture. I know am obsessed with getting a Scooba---I hate to mop too. Think they make a Washoooba to automatically sort, wash, and fold all my laundry too? I do have to say that when Edgar is charging, his little red light "breathes", flashing and dimming. It kinda scares me. Reminds me of Maximillian from the Disney Black Hole movie, which still scares the patooty out of me to this day. Aside from that, Edgar is the new love of my life. BF is jealous.

Good day all! Back on schedule so should be one far more often than have been in recent days. Looking forward to the chat!

they sure are and DH is watching a movie so I can have the computer all to myself. :cool1:

that settles it, I am making that dip for Easter. Of course, I might be the only one eating it since I am surrounded by the world's pickiest eaters. Do you know how hard it has been looking over the menus for WDW trying to find places that they can eat. As long as we stick to places that serve chicken tenders, plain cheeseburgers (because they don't like ketchup or anything) and pizza, we should be ok. :rotfl2:

Oh sure, I finally get back on here and you disappear. :teleport: Yeah, I'll remember that the next time you are on here all by yourself. :rotfl2: :lmao:

Love the new avatar. I too wish they had better ones on here or at least updated ones.

Good morning Killers, yes I disappeared Friday evening. Let me share, was having a relaxing Dis evening and DD was out phone rings and DD tells me she has a flat tire, she is with friends and they are trying to change it. Raining night, she is in the parking lot of the train station, which is behind main part of a neighboring town w/stores and eateries. I go and call roadside assistance and we wait. Not a bad wait, but not what I had planned. Of course I couldn't understand why she didn't park on the street:confused3, she didn't want to park "baby" that's what she named her car on a street where so many cars drive by and people walk by!! Something may happen to it. That worked out well, you think.
The rest of the weekend was helping DS complete his state project, which we had to go to the school between 4-6 to set up yesterday. Yeah, it was a really fun filled exciting weekend:rolleyes1.
Made the dip last night, still as good as I remember it. Dreamin here's a hint, DD doesn't eat shrimp, fish etc. yet she eats that. So just don't talk about what's in it and serve as a hot dip. Let people enjoy, and not know what's in it except of course if you have anyone w/shellfish allergies that won't work:scared1:.

Hey Guys :wave2:

Wanted to let ya know that seeds et al will be in the mail on Sunday! I am looking up planting info your ya'lls zone and printing it out and waiting for "something special" to dry. I didn't forget about ya'll!.
Boy, someone turned off the heat down here:cold:-it was in the 30's and flurries north of town! I had to tuck my tomatoes in for the night. I am not happy

I was on the Peeps site- I have now left the Peeps Corps and joined GreenPeeps.

Hope everyone is well.

Oops, I never did PM you, I will do that after posting hope you have some left. So lost on this Peeps thing:confused3.

morning everyone!

just trying to sneak on for a few minutes before the craziness starts. DH and DS are getting haircuts here at the house in a couple of hours, maggie is spending the night at my MILs, my dad is coming over to babysit dennis tonight. why, do you ask?

we are going to the city for dinner and a broadway show!! :cool1: we're seeing "young frankenstein" with another couple, really great friends.
we are lucky to do this at least once a year with them, the boys give us these tickets as part of our Christmas present.

next weekend i'm going into the city for a couple of nights for a girls' weekend. woohoo! we are seeing "mary poppins" and going to something called "the prom" it's like an 80s prom, like tony and tina's wedding, if you've heard of that.

so i'll be busy, but i'll still be here during the week! i miss you guys!
i read everything i missed, and you're all making me laugh! i'll try to stay on as much as i can!

p.s. thanks for all your well wishes for denny. i have not been woken during the night in the last 2 nights!!

:dance3: very cool, a night in the city, and then a girls weekend:banana:, The Prom sounds like fun, haven't heard of it, but have heard of Tony and Tina's Wedding. Glad Denny is feeling better:thumbsup2.

I can't believe you were the first post and it really WAS at 7pm!!! :rotfl: Too funny.

That recipe sounds amazing!!

:rotfl:  princess: I feel so special:rotfl2:.

Hello everyone, been offline for a few days now. Finally seem to have gotten the spring cleaning under control, at least for now. Managed to donate two huge bags of clothes and get lots of stuff to the recycling center. This is, of course, all in vain, since SPRING WILL NEVER ARRIVE WHERE I LIVE. Can you tell the rain/sleet has gotten to me?

Still haven't named the Roomba yet, but I have used him and all I can say is that he is AMAZING. I got a refurbished one, but he works just fine. He also comes with a remote and these "walls" so that you can limit the Roomba's cleaning to one room. At first, I was a bit skeptical of his vaccuuming prowess, he just seems to zoom around and bump into everything. But boy does he have heart. He wizzed about my kitched for nearly an hour, doing a far more thorough job than I ever would. I cleaned him out afterward and there was so much dust and cat/me hair in there I was so grossed out. And yes, he did return back to the charger, shortly after singing me a little song.

I'm presently deciding where to place the googly eyes.

So much to catch up, congrats on the weekend in the city, the wedding plans, gardening tips, the yummy recipe that I too plan to try next week, the sock hop, and new teeth.

Oh yes, and so glad to find out that M&N lives west of Philly, and not in the Atlantic Ocean somewhere!

My DS lives upstate and she was just talking to DM seems she sounds the same way. Can't take anymore snow, ice etc. She's over it! Here's :wizard: hoping spring is just around the corner. The romba sounds amazing, I always wondered if it worked. I'll try anything that will help w/dog hair.
:rotfl2: I am glad too that none of our killers are in the Atlantic Ocean.

Sorry about being a thread hog, but if I multi quote to many at a time then you have to go back and delete smilies.

Hello...anyone here? :)
MagiKitty I giggle when I think of the Roomba bumping into everything.
Bopsmom I like your pictures too. :lovestruc

Afternoon!!!

DL55-I think everyone took the weekend off.

Hi, DL!!
Bopsmom-I forgot all about Disney's policy. Heaven forbid we have a little fun with disney pictures. Sometimes, they just have to chill out with things like that.

Ditto

So glad to hear you had a great time this weekend Magsnden! Was your font so small coz you were whispering this morning? Tell us more! Was the Prom a play or a party? I've attended Proms at clubs, where everyone gets dressed up in horribly frou-frou garb, and its so much fun!

morning, magikitty!
i don't know why my font was so small! i notice that after i change the size and color, i can't get the same font that i started with. beats me!

we saw "Young Frankenstein" on saturday. it was EXCELLENT! this coming weekend is girls weekend, and "Mary Poppins" matinee and then the prom at night. i'll tell you how it is. you're close enough to the city to check it out someday. btw, i'm not sure if i'm going to dress all 80s yet. i probably still have one of my prom dresses at my dad's, but ......well.....it wasn't the nicest time for fashion!

Morning everyone!!!! Cold here again. Someone remind me again how long until spring.

disney54us-sounds like you had a fun weekend. :rotfl: Look at it this way, at least DD is worried about her "baby". There are plenty of kids who wouldn't care where they leave their car. And school on a Sunday....my kids wouldn't come withing 50 feet of any school on a Sunday. :rotfl2: Thanks for the tip on the dip. I'll make it and if nobody wants to eat it, it just means more for me. :goodvibes

MagiKitty-"Edgar" ....love it!!! So, he works pretty good...I may have to look iinto getting one of those. Did you get his eyes on yet? You gotta take pics when you do.

magsnden-glad you had a great time. Up since 4am :scared1: That is one part I don't miss about having a little one. I am so not a morning person....except on vacation. :lmao: Looking forward to hearing about your weekend.

:hippie: hi disney54us!

i think you're quoting as you catch up, and sadly you'll see that dennis is back to his old tricks. it was nice while it lasted!! but last night he woke at 4 and we've been up since. :headache:

oh well!

Magsnden...you MUST dress for the prom. The one I went to was in Philly, and it was so much fun. Just getting into a cab with everyone in strange garb was priceless! And the music was fantastic...I haven't danced to OMD (my own Pretty in Pink moment) since the 80's!

Please let me know how it goes, we're planning a weekend get together next month--I'm taking my nephew to the Comic Convention at the Javitz and meeting up with people. He's underage though, and I'm not THAT cool of an aunt! The convention closes at 8pm, so we're thinking of what we could do (legally) with him.

dis54...you're not a thread hog, you just have lots to say. We love it.

PS--hope the little guy is feeling better!

I've heard of Tony & Tina's Wedding and thought that would be fun to see. The Prom sounds even more fun. Is this playing exclusively in NY or will they take this on tour like T&T Wedding? Have fun but come back and tell us all about it. :thumbsup2

Bopsmom - love the peeps pics too. Keep the gardening advice coming too. :wizard: You'll be our P Allen Smith of the TK thread. I so envy you getting out there to plant already. (Even if you do have to tuck in the tomatoes at night) I thought of you when I saw the Huston rodeo on the news last night. Told DH I knew all about that and the big BBQ from my buddy's on the Dis. He laughed and said I spend too much time on this board. :lmao: :surfweb:

Our sock hop was fun but I think the kids spent more time buying things to eat then actually dancing.
Have been spending the rest of my weekend planning for our camping trip and organizing my DS birthday party in 3 weeks. Like Bopsmom, I made my own invites and now moved on to the cake. He is having an army themed b-day and I always try to find a cute cake to make. This year I am going to attempt a tank shaped cake I found on The Coolest Homemade Birthday Cakes page. We'll see how that goes. In the past I have done Nemo, Mike Wizowski (Monsters Inc.), Buzz Lightyear, Pirate Ship, a dinosaur, Nascars, and Sponge Bob all by getting ideas from this sight. Wish me luck!
Wow, cake decorating I don't think I could pull that off. Just not where my creative side is:sad2:. You'll have to post pic's:thumbsup2

I would love to have a girls night-mine always seem to include a bunch of 10 year olds.

mine says the same-I told him at least when I talk on the boards- someone listens.:rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:, so true:laughing:.

The hop sounds like fun. So does the cake. Glad to see another mom going all out.:thumbsup2 I've been doing it for years, DH thinks I am the only one. We are having a Mystery Dinner Party for DD and 13 of her closest friends. Please give me any ideas you may have for this theme. It is set in the Bahamas(fab star invites all her fab friends to cruise the Bahamas on her boat when dumdumdaaaaa
I've got some Island theme things, but mine have come from our recent "Guys Cook" party(my last party theme was Party Gods)
partygodslo9.jpg
Sounds, like fun:thumbsup2, hey can we all come??

Loving it so far!:thumbsup2 I could "float" a captain's hat on the water since that was what the "victim" of the mystery was wearing.

DD has told us(me, DH, DMimi, SIL) that as "supporting cast" we will be dressed as CSI agents-rubber gloves, makeup brushes to dust for prints, etc. :rotfl:

D&DDisney-that cake is pretty cool looking. I would love to bake cakes for my kids' birthdays but I just am not any good at it. I'll happily continue to buy all our cakes just so I don't end up with something like this...[

No, not one of mine but I have cakes look like that before. :rotfl:

How did you get a picture of the cake I made????:rotfl2: :rotfl:

Boo Hissssss
mad0214.gif
, DD just got back from the Hannah concert and had her purse pick pocketed. She was in tears-
sad0116.gif
. She said a woman on the row behind her went under her seat "looking for something". At the end of the concert she was in line with her girlfriends to get a concert t-shirt and went to pay but her wallet was gone. No t-shirt-her wallet (her favorite "chicks rule"with a chick on it) was gone. Her change purse was opened and emptied. She hated that they stole her wallet and not just the money.
I had my wallet lifted at the last Jimmy Buffet concert so I know what she feels like- the person stole her "pet sitting" money-hard earned-and it is tough to explain to a 10 year old.

yikes-don't know how I double posted this-sorry guys!

I can' believe that!!:furious: Why on earth??? Your poor DD and at 10 she has to learn the world has many (it's dis, I won't curse).

I decided that I'm going to give DB and SIL 2 weeks to make their ressies. If they don't, I'm not going to bring it up again. I offered to help but there is only so much I can do. :confused3 I love the planning part. I love the challenge of trying to find a better way to tour the parks. MagiKitty, do you think giving them our itinerary when we get to the hotel would be too short of notice? :rotfl2:

Good Morning TK'rs.

Question for the morning- Does anyone else know what a p'd off skunk sounds like:confused: ??
I do!:scared: and the smell could stop an 8 day clock outside. I thought I had humanely got it to relocate from under my greenhouse to behind the rock waterwall. This morning the neighbors cat had it cornered on the back porch and Winkleman jumped in the window from inside-it scared the poor thing enough to spray. Thank god it didn't hit the daybed on the back porch or I'd have to burn it.

I still have some seed Disney54us-PM me with the address and number of small gardeners in the family and I'll send you a packet too.

Guys, we made something special for the smaller gardeners- I hope:eek: I included enough in your packets!

:thanks:
I love my party god guys-I got a t-shirt years ago with them and copied the design. I painted my BigBro a Adarondik(sp?)chair with them on it-I've also done a bunch of JimmyBuffet style furniture for their deck. They wanted 5hundred per chair on the website and my brother says, "awww come on you can do that..." They look something like this-PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT THE CHAIR I PAINTED-I GOT THE EXAMPLE FROM A WEBSITE-anyways, mine looked better. :rotfl2:

mybuffettchair20002abc7.jpg

I have painted so much furniture for my brothers and their families yet none for around my own pool. DMom gets on me about that. This year I think I will do them(party gods) for myself.

Dreamin' How about just leaving your cell phone number for them:rotfl2:

Bopsmom-Love the chair!!! When you finally paint some for yourself, you're gonna have to post pics. Leave a phone number. NO WAY, NO HOW!!! They would be calling me every 2 minutes. :rotfl2: "help us, we don't know where to go", "why is the park so crowded", "where's the bathroom" Now just imagine that in a 4-year-old's whiny voice and that will be SIL. :lmao: And, nope don't know what a p.o'd skunk sounds like. If I happen to see one around here, I tiptoe very quietly :tiptoe: so I don't disturb the balance between man and nature.

Awww, now you got tears in my eyes. A group hug sounds perfect right now.

On a lighter note....if I buy a t-shirt for any of you, can I go to Disney too?
:rotfl2: :rotfl: Okay where are you getting the cool smilies?? Would I be able to do it????

Only if you agree to sleep on the pull out and watch the 4 and 7 year old while the adults drink wine.:thumbsup2
laughing024.gif

BTW-cake looks totally edible to me!
:rotfl2: , Like the drinking wine smilie, I need that one!

Hi Everyone! I can't believe it's been almost two months since I was here.

I'm a tax accountant, so this time of year is a little crazy. Plus both DDs are in the middle school musical (Peter Pan), and DH and I have both been sick for a week. I can't believe I found a few minutes to actually log on a read a few things. Being here is definitely improving my mood.

We booked a summer cruise on one of those other cruise lines (Disney didn't have what we wanted when we wanted it), and I have to say that their message boards are really dull. I'm going to have to continue to drop by here for my entertainment fix.
:yay: Your Back!!!!:cheer2: So glad to see ya! Hope you can spend more time when tax season is over, then you can tell us about your cruise plans.

I know what you mean....there will be 15 of us going this year and NOBODY wants to plan anything. My brother still hasn't made any room ressies yet even though I keep telling him it will be very busy when we go. :sad2: I keep telling them that we need to plan far in advance for everything. They keep telling me to plan what I want...they don't care. When we finally get there, I may just give them all a map and disappear for a while. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2, go for it!! DB may not get ressies at that time of the year if he keeps waiting.

Morning everyone!!!! Cold here again. Someone remind me again how long until spring.

disney54us-sounds like you had a fun weekend. :rotfl: Look at it this way, at least DD is worried about her "baby". There are plenty of kids who wouldn't care where they leave their car. Yes I am glad that she cares, but a new tire:scared1:. See this wasn't a little nail in it that could be patched. She went over threads of the exit. You know the ones that say do not back up:scared1:
:hippie: hi disney54us!

i think you're quoting as you catch up, and sadly you'll see that dennis is back to his old tricks. it was nice while it lasted!! but last night he woke at 4 and we've been up since. :headache:

oh well!

Hi magsnden, I think, we were posting at the same time, took a break DN called her due date is tomorrow. Is it still his molar's giving him a problem, or is he off due to the time change??

Bopsmom-Love the chair!!! When you finally paint some for yourself, you're gonna have to post pics. Leave a phone number. NO WAY, NO HOW!!! Oh, didn't think of it that way. Leave her someone else's number than
evilgrin.gif
You may have to rethink that "not drinking wine"stance:rotfl:she sounds like one that would cause people to drink!

a po'd shunk squeals-really loud too. It sounded like a tea kettle-that's what DD thought it was and she was upstairs at the time.

If I could catch a break with the weather I would paint. They are calling for 3-4 inches today. :sad1: I would love a cool, low humidity kind of day but those are getting to be fewer and fewer.

Morning all...I must say, for a bunch of people hanging out on the Dis too often, y'all are certainly exciting!

I know! Some people-plus it was a woman with kids with her! DD was so careful at the midway and all making sure her purse was zipped and everything. She was ok with it this morning. She won a pig at the shooting gallery and was so proud of herself.

Bopsmom....The Anne series is one of my faves of all time. So sweet and wonderful for you and your DD to be sharing that together. They made a few movies of them years ago--I highly recommend them. Oh if that is the series done by disney and filmed on location? They are MY FAVORITE TOO!!!!!:yay: :yay: I even liked the Avonlea spin off.
DMom went to PEI and brought back some Anne items for DD-a doll and a book. I guess I'll have to hand them over sometime huh!
ashamed0005.gif

Sign me up for the "ditch everyone else" trip too!

This might be a good name for a mom's/DisGirls weekend!
I think its wonderful the special touches everyone seems to put on their kids' birthdays. I can't believe how creative and talented y'all are! Take lots and lots of pictures! And, I agree, a lopsided cake covered in chocolate looks just as yummy to me.
Heck where I live it is almost an Olympic sport. It can be taxing trying to come up with something they haven't "done-to-death"for birthdays out here.
I keep running Edgar (my Roomba has now been baptized), and he's doing great, and I forget to take his picture. I know am obsessed with getting a Scooba---I hate to mop too. Good day all! Back on schedule so should be one far more often than have been in recent days. Looking forward to the chat!

Good to hear from you! Have a good afternoon!

Your DD ran over the "DO NOT BACK UP" treads? You have to admit, that's kinda funny. Did she think the sign was lying? Didn't the tire pop? Well, at least she knew to call home for help.

Just tell your family that you don't get signal at WDW. Like the signal of "where are you going to eat lunch?" or "how do we get to EPCOT?" or "how do we use FastPass?".

Thankfully, I don't know what a panicked skunk sounds like. I do know what one smells like, unfortunately. Its just something you have to sit out, and let Mother Nature take care of. And hope its a blustery windy day blowing in the opposite direction!

What a beautiful chair! They look like the ones outside Margaritaville at CityWalk at US. You can paint better than that?! Very impressive! And since its too cool and moist to paint, just plan out your project, so when opportunity presents itself, you're all ready. Of course you need to paint your own set--you're a VIP!

I feel so untalented right now.

And I'm an idiot. I unplugged my alarm system the other day--I was looking for an available plug for Edgar. That set off the alarm communication--which meant calling my cell phone every 30 seconds. I was freaked out coz my cell phone said "home" was calling me--and I was IN THE HOUSE! I thought it was the beginning of a horror movie. I then realized what I had done, and tried to fix it. But I couldn't figure it out. Eventually, the house stopped calling me.

I just got a call from the phone company that my alarm system was calling SOMEONE ELSE! My alarm is just personal, I'm not attached to the fire/police department (thank goodness). I've just disconnected the phone line. I can't find the instruction booklet. I can't find someone from the manufacturer to talk to. I'm going to rip the thing out of the wall. I don't know who to ask help from.

The electronics are taking over. I hope Edgar will come to my rescue. Now I'm afraid of the DirecTv guy coming over tomorrow. The house is rebelling against me.

OMG---you got it! My Roomba is named Edgar---as in J. Edgar Hoover.

I've already decided if I ever get a Scooba--he will be called Jacques (as in Cousteau).

I've always wanted to go to PEI--and be a devoured tourist and get all sorts of Anne stuff. You may want to give your stuff up--or you may want to get your daughter her own. I remember seeing the official website somewhere... google Sullivan boutique for the movies and other stuff.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I was going to submit that over the weekend-ha!

I love to name my animals strange things. Like my daughter's plycostimus is named Windex. DD names my plants strange things too.
I had a tank in my old office when I was an accounting clerk with 2 kissing fish-1 named Debit the other Credit and the plycostimus named Arthur Anderson(the auditors-they hang around all the time and you're not quite sure what they do)
Great minds huh

Thanks, I just PM'd you:goodvibes. Love the chair, do post some that you have done. Skunks, here's my smelly story. Several years back, 5 days b/f Christmas Eve, my dog was out back and I see him over something:eek:, I open the back door and the smell could knock you over. I call him and well you guessed it he and the skunk, the skunk lost but he was covered. I get him in the house. I know mistake, but like I told everyone it was cold I wasn't going to bathe him in the freezing cold and I didn't want him having lunch meat skunk. Not only did the smell permeate the whole house my clothes etc. I ran out to the local pet place to buy stuff, I cleaned with vinegar and water. I put trays of ground coffee around the house, The animal control guy told me that it helps absorb odors. Pre my candle making days I went to a candle factory near us and bought 100+ votives. My DS was about 4 and kept saying eww, it smells like onions (it was the way he said it insert nasal sound on the o and the n). BTW, The de Skunk stuff doesn't work, don't know if Tomato Juice works not a option, he's white. The vet tech to me Vinegar N Water Douche, yep that's right she said to get that put it on him and it had to sit for about 5 mins. Well that's nearly impossible to get him in the tub, but to keep him in there for 5, so I bought Hickory Farms bit size sausage and fed them to him while we waited. Yes it does work. Just what I needed to be doing a few days b/f X-mas and I have people over on X-mas Eve.

:rotfl2: :rotfl:, whining 4 yr old:rotfl2:

magikitty - tell the directv guy to bring TIVO!!!! :rotfl:

Hey Magsndden :wave2: how is Dennis doing now? Hope he is better.

Skunks must know when you are having company. One got into my BFF's house via the dog door while she was away and the night before she was to return with her parents 1)see the new house and 2)host Thanksgiving dinner. Her hubby was home alone at the time and he calls me panicked-it sprayed their dog that promptly jumped into the bed and rolled all over. Then ran downstairs and rolling on the sofa. It was a terrible mess-we had dinner at my house that year.

Did you get funny looks buying a case of douche? :rotfl2:

I have bowls of vinegar all around the family room right now and I am upstairs on the computer.
