So...we're going to get moved? And to the community board where all the really big threads are. I think that's kinda cool but I do see MagiKitty's point about being here to welcome everybody. Though DH will be mad because I'll have to spend so much more time posting to keep our thread on the first page over there.

The name change doesn't matter too much in my opinion. I think it is different enough not to confuse anybody. If you all want to change it, I'll still find you...

Ok guys, last post before I hit the (very wet and yucky looking) road. I guess since we're going to be moved today, and its a holiday, we'll keep our present title until everyone gets on board and knows what's going on. If we feel that a change is needed or necessary, then we'll tackle that one over on the CB.

Yup, my brother is driving Mom and I to JFK. Our flight isn't until midnight, but we want to send him and Dad back north at a decent hour. Its finally stopped snowing here and the plows have come out so I think we're all a go! Thank you everyone for your well wishes and I'll think of you all while I'm away! I'll be checking my email so I'll be sure to stop by at some point.

I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe New Years and that this is just the beginning of a grand, exciting, much blessed 2008. Good luck to everyone who has resolutions, and for those getting back to a normal routine. If I miss anyone going on a trip of their own, have a safe memorable trip, and I'll meet y'all back here in a few weeks.

whgrn-I think you were the one who asked about the Celtic Festival here. It's held the last weekend in September every year. Since you have family around here, I can't believe nobody told you about it. They have bagpipe competitions, traditional foods, and Highland games. It's officially called the Celtic Classic. http://www.celticfest.org/2007CelticClassic/index.html It's a pretty nice way to spend a weekend.

Happy New Years, Everyone!! Goodness, on NY's eve I checked in to wish all a happy and was going to tell that I noticed Lovetoscrap's thread (the over 40,000++) thread had something about a name change so I checked out the last few pages. There it was that they were being moved to the CB, and discussing name changes. I figured I would update everyone yesterday, only to sign on in the afternoon and have the boards down due to some tweaking (I guess). I know we had over 1,000 post but didn't think we would have to worry yet. I sign on this morning and see the same has happened to us!!! I'm not sure where the CB is?? A few questions, I noticed some concerns expressed on Lovetoscrap's thread about being move to the CB, one person said how they talk about their lives, families and post pictures and had concerns about that stuff being on the CB. We seem to have the same kind of thread going, is the CB different then the welcome board?? that some one would feel comfortable talking family life and not on the CB? Was just wondering, since I noticed that comment?? Name changes? I think we can keep our same name, if we do change I do like bopsmom's suggestion. Or, we could do that and then have after the name formerly known as (you know ala Prince) I guess, I can be one that resist change I still don't get why we have to be moved?? though this has become a long running thread, we have had new people join us, like I did just b/c you notice the thread read a little and I think they realize that we are welcoming and they can find a home here. We all have been on the other threads that are well (you all know what I'm talking about).

We had a quiet New Years. Kids were so pumped up. We each ate our favorite meal and then played games until ball drop. We had a balloon drop at our house too. We dumped a big box of balloons from the second floor. It was cute. Did some fireworks at midnight and then got the kids to bed. The best part is they slept until 9am the next morning. They've never slept later than 7:30 before. Tomorrow will be the hard part. Waking them up for school. I dred that moment.

disney54us-I think I can answer some of your questions as to why we were moved, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong. In my opinion, it appears to me that they want to keep the welcome board as a place for new users to get pointed in the right direction to have their questions asnwered. We can still pop over there and help new users and even point them to our thread. We all know how it feels to start a thread and just have the replies stay at 0.

I also think we were moved because we had become quite chatty about things that weren't always Disney related. I think the community board is more for chatting about anything and I guess we kinda fit there now too. As to the difference between the Welcome Board and Community Board, I don't know. Except the Community board has way more threads and it sure can make it harder to find ours.

But all this is just my opinion on what happened. I could be totally wrong.

i've been getting here through the sub page too. i'm sad that i can't just find us usually the first one on the welcome forum. quite honestly, it's making me pout.

but i am so happy you liked the soup, bopsmom! if anyone else wants the recipe, i'll be happy to share it. i think whgrn wanted it (i'll pm you later, my husband is working from home today, so i don't have my usual unlimited access to the computers ) . it's freezing here in ny and if only i had the peas, i could make it. i'll have to check the basement pantry. but if i go down there, i might be drawn to the washing machine. yuck.

Well, the one day I don't get on the computer Threads get moved! I had no trouble finding you as I always use my subscription list. I'm partial to our original title as the words "Thread killers" are in a different position in the title, making it easier to differentiate. But I'll go along with the majority (as if I could do anything anyway )
We spent New Years watching the parade and then football all day.
I gave my DH a Nintendo DS for Christmas. I wasn't sure he would enjoy the games we bought. Every time I would look around he was playing. I noticed that he took it to work with him. I hope he doesn't get in "trouble" (children.... )
