Thread Closed - Shower Gel is safe!

Thanks @ShirikiUtundu and @Ktim ! I guess I will have to stay at GF to experience the Sea Salt!

Yep @pixie08 - I do not want to check a bag and my toiletry case is already full. I would have to buy shower gel at the gift $hop.

BTW - here is Disney's email reply:

At this time we have no plans to stop providing shower gel to our Guests. Disboards is a great website, but please only trust what you see on official Disney World® websites because anyone can say just about anything on those sites and they are not affiliated with the Walt Disney Company.

But, I still trust the DIS and the Podcast. I have learned plenty of insider info that Disney does not publish!
It has to be somewhere other than GF. We don't care for the look for GF and have never stayed there but I have had Sea Salt bath products. I can't tell you which resorts, maybe CR or BC. But we did have them somewhere else.

And wait, you actually told them you read something on Dis Boards by name? Why? Why would you need to say where the info came from? To someone reading your question if you say you read it on the Internet it actually makes them take it a bit less seriously. They'll have a hard time believing anyone believes what they read on the Internet. So it got me curious why you included where the info came from

I always think it is good to ask or express concern to the direct source rather than not. Same goes for good feedback too of course!
It is a good idea but never a good idea to include "I read on a message board or heard on the Internet"

This isn't just regarding your email, so please don't take this the wrong way, it's a general observation -

I would hate to have the job of reading incoming emails at Disney World!

I actually wonder how many complaints they get each day, from people with questions like yours. Not actual complaints regarding their stay. I've read so many people on these boards, in such a short time, stating that they emailed Disney over "this or that".

Would be interesting to know.
I agree. Especially if people write to complain about a rumor heard or read on the Internet. Complain about facts, not rumors. From credible sources. I like DisBoards, enjoy the podcasts and appreciate the effort they put in them. I don't consider their word as written in stone.

But weeding through complaints about unsubstantiated Internet based rumors takes away from the time they could spend on responding to what would be considered a more legitimate issue experienced by someone first hand.

Just chiming in to say we had the sea marine in the larger 2 oz tubes when we stayed in the Atrium Club at the CR last December. The only other resort we have had it at was the GF RPC, and it was not the larger tubes there, just the small 1.25 oz bottles.

The sea marine collection looks really nice! Funny how it comes in different sizes at different resorts, or not at all in others.

I would just like to throw in that this thread about shower gel in up to 5 pages and like thousands of views. It is important to me, even if viewed as trivial and meaningless to others. I think going directly to Disney to investigate a rumor is more productive than being angry towards Disney about something that is not substantiated. I appreciate the time Disney takes to answer questions, and I do not see my question about a rumor about something important to me (not just shower gel, but the level of care Disney pays to the resorts) as taking away from others' question or concerns. Just my two cents.

I think this should be a lesson to not believe everything you hear on the internet. And maybe a little more care should be taken before people make claims for which they have no proof. Riling up the masses for no reason doesn't do any good.

Eh, I'm sure Disney gets dumber questions than ones about toiletries on a daily basis and obviously they have employees to field questions through the website so it's not like you're taking some upper level exec's time. I for one am interested in the kinds of amenities in hotel rooms and wish that hotels included that information on their websites. Like I said, WDW doesn't standardize what they give out, it's pretty much a crapshoot as to what you are going to get in your bathroom at ANY level.

As a previous poster stated a couple pages ago, it will be interesting to see what will replace when the current stock runs out now that H2O has revamped their entire line. I just hope it's higher quality and will be glad when the grapefruit bergamot and blushing orange junk is gone for good.

Man, no one liked that blushing orange! lol! I don't mind the grapefruit, but it is pretty strong. Maybe just a nice clean soap scent would be good. Would be hard to please everyone with one scent!

I pretty much despise anything that is scented orange. Makes me gag. The grapefruit one is not as bad but I prefer to smell clean over fruity.

No more speculation necessary- I have the answer! I contacted H2O directly. They are going to continue to produce the Grapefruit Bergamont for Disney and in addition to the room sizes, it will continue to be available for purchase through Disney in the full size bottles. It is not going to be available directly from H2O either on their website or outside of Disney. H2O ran out of stock of the Grapefruit Bergamont shower gel which is why it is missing from the resorts right now. It is shipping to Disney this week and should be back in the rooms soon!

Darn it! I was hoping the grapefruit would be gone, I wanted the sea salt in my room on my next visit. Oh well I use it at home so I'll just bring my own but it would have been nice to get it there.

I would be so happy to get a surprise Sea Salt on my next trip! It's the little things in life....

I LOVE orange scent and orange or citrus scented shower gels (the thing I'm going to miss most about the old Soarin is the orange grove scent), but I don't think Blushing Orange remotely smells like oranges or even citrus. I don't know what it smells like, but I know I don't like it! Now, if they would just bottle that Soarin scent as a shower gel....!!!!!

I know I have had the Sea Salt one and I have never stayed at any deluxe outside of AKL. I absolutely LOVE it! The grapefruit one gets used, but the scent is so very fake to me - like Skin So Soft by Avon. Gag.

Is Blushing Orange an Orange Flower scent? That smells nothing like orange.

I definitely think Blushing Orange smells like orange. Also I have a shower gel that, to me, is reminiscent of the (old) Soarin' scents (that combination smell that ends up in the theatre). I love it.

I know that you aren't all the way in on their reply, so this isn't "at" you. But gosh, what a crazy reply from them. Totally off script and if they got reviewed on it they would almost certainly get dinged.

Employees at the call centers don't work at WDW, aren't necessarily even in FL. Might never have been to WDW at all. They have zero clue as to how the parks or resorts run. So it's hilarious, to get such a response, when there's just no way they could know.

I think going directly to Disney to investigate a rumor is more productive than being angry towards Disney about something that is not substantiated.

Ah, but see above.
