Thread About Food Allergies on CB

Actually, I went over there and read the thread. Everyone was perfectly polite and respectful.

I've seen too many instances where people get down right hostile about accomodating their childrens' peers' allergies so I thought there would be some big huff over peanut free classes when all these allergies are clearly fake.

Sorry if my comment was rude. I don't take issue with the posting of the study. I've seen it and it is interesting. IMO, too many drs, esp peds, don't know how to interpret test results, hence all the kids avoiding foods they aren't really allergic to.

The only time I have seen people get "hostile" is about peanut allergies. Have you seen it happen with other allergies?

All the examples I can thing of are about peanuts or tree nuts. But I can't think of any examples where anybody has been asked to avoid the other allergies for a child's sake. I'm sure the anger would be ten fold if a classroom went milk free. That's why I'm not actually a proponent of peanut free schools even though my DS is allergic. I am more fearful of the backlash from angry parents than I am of the peanuts themselves.
