Thoughts on PVB stay this weekend -

Had a GREAT 1 night, 2 longer days, just relaxing at resort, stay mid week. Loved 2nd stay in Tokeleau. LOVED the resort despite Tuesdays nightmare of the computer system being down. THANKFULLY, was given room by about 2pm, very surprising with the "chaos" of the entire reservation system being down. Unfortunately, magic bands were not working to open room or pool, so had to use the old "Key to the World" keycard for most of Tuesday. By very late Tuesday evening, all was "well" and our magic bands worked fine to open room. Wednesday was fine for pool access using magic bands. Oasis pool was lovely, food was very good at Oasis, found preparation time for food evening at 2pm(past rush of lunch hour) to be slow. Lava pool was lovely, wish there was more opportunity for shade though. None of our family was bothered by ferry horn noise(probably because days are active and all of us were very tired at night). Split bathroom comes in so handy! Had a delicious meal at Kona again! For those going soon, ENJOY and don't forget to have a delic Dole Whip!

But I always wish there was more opportunity for shade. Burn in seconds!

I don't know if you would be happy with the standard view rooms, either, because you take a chance of a parking lot view....

Now from our perspective--it was a great room--close to transportation, etc. We liked being on the 1st floor. (Most of the time--we don't have a view preference. )

Thank you all for your help on this effort. My friend added that Room Request list to his PVB Standard View Studio reservation, and he got the first choice! Room 3914. The view from his balcony:

Pretty nice for a SV. Better than most of the 1st floor Lake View rooms, IMO. Feel free to use the room number list as needed. And Good Luck!!

Good luck to you! Once I made this list and realized what it meant, I had to share it. It's just too good to not share it with my fellow DISers, even if it ultimately means the room request trend catches on more, and I miss out in the future. Helping others get a great room view is part of the Magic for me. Plus, it was a good way to Pay it Forward from the great BLT thread that helps me make my room requests.

Part of me thinks he got Room Request #1 because so few people at the PVB Standard View do specific room requests. But that's only part of it. Most of it is luck that the room wasn't taken by a random guest.
