We are getting ready to book our spring break trip to Disney. We have 3 boys ages 7, 4 and 1. We thought it would be nice to go to Poly as we have not stayed at a Monorail hotel before and especially the convenience the monorail will give with the 1 year old. We are probably going to book a Lagoon view. While not guaranteed, we will probably request the Tahiti longhouse.

Any thoughts or advice of Poly veterans? Does this building request make sense? Any experiences at Poly with little ones that could help our planning? Thanks.

For the same price you can book concierge garden view and with kids the ages you are traveling with it would be awesome -- also I think the location is a little more convenient -- definitely convenient to both pools and the boat. Not too far for the GCH and the bus stop. Tahiti would be closer for the TTC and ferry boat.

In my opinion staying Poly makes all the sense in the "World" :goodvibes with little ones! It is perfect for running back for naps/swim time and playing in the sand. My kids also loved watching the Electic water pagent, and fireworks from our room(lagoon view) while my youngest slept. Durning the EMH we would take our oldest to MK(her most magical moment of our last trip) while the younger two stayed with my mom in our room. Monorail/the ferry made things so much easier too. Have a magical trip! :wizard:

I think gardenview concierge is now $40 or $50 more than lagoon view. Or it least it was for March dates I was looking at.

As far as requesting Tahiti, it is a bit of a stroll to the GCH and the main pool. On the other hand, there is a very quiet beach directly in front of that longhouse, rather close parking and it is very close to the ferry and Epcot monorail.

We also love plain old gardenview rooms. The views are beautiful from almost all rooms and every longhouse is close to a beach for that wonderful view of the castle, EWP and Wishes. And if your kids were like mine at that age, playing on the beach is a highlight anyway.

Our very first WDW stay was at the Poly when the kids were 2,5 and 8. It was perfect. DS (the 2 year old then) was easy to get around in his stroller. We did the garden view concierge. If DS was napping the girls could get snacks, milk, juice, etc. We could also grab juice or pop on our way out for the parks. The monorail was a big help--just don't forget and leave anything on it when you are getting off with 3 sleepy kids! We did that once (a pack of diapers and a picture frame) but I remembered quick enough that they took it off at the GF and DH hopped on the monorail, got off at GF and got it, and rode back around.
Enjoy this time--believe me, you will miss the days when you could just throw all of your "stuff" in a stroller and have your kids pay reduced prices for meals--since the last time we were in WDW, our girls have become "adults" in WDW lingo (they will be 11 and 14 when we go next summer) and your budget changes quite a bit! :goodvibes It will be much easier to shell out that extra $ for concierge when they are little!

Sounds like a perfect plan to me! My three children are 3, 5 and 7 - they adore the Polynesian. Everytime we have booked a regular lagoon view room, I have requested Tahiti. You cannot beat the Tahiti longhouse in terms of privacy. The Tahiti lagoon view rooms go right on to the beach (the far end beach - very quiet) and there is a magical view of the castle. The first floor rooms are our preference, for the easy beach access, with the hammock and swing.

Also in Tahiti you get the double sinks and larger room - which comes in extra handy for families of five. Plus you are only a (very short) walk from the TTC - for the express monorail to the MK and also the Epcot monorail.

I say go for it - Tahiti is wonderful and the Polynesian is beautiful!

I recently stayed at the Poly and loved my garden view room. The resort is beautifully landscaped and I actually preferred the garden view over the lagoon view. Keep in mind that it is possible to have a partial lagoon view from many of the garden view rooms. This is particularly true of the Fiji longhouse.
