Thoughts on Norway Itineraries?

Stavanger is a coastal port city and not a fjord. Flam is at the end of the Sognefjord, and it and Geiranger are the two most popular towns at the ends of fjords on Norway cruises. Lucky is the person whose Norway cruise goes to both Flam and Geiranger!

Flam is MUCH nicer than Stavanger!! That's almost a throw away port to me.

Good to know. We're actually going to Flam (and Bergen as well) a couple of weeks before this cruise, so I think I can live with Stavanger, at least it's different. (Mostly doing this cruise for my Frozen obsessed daughter who has been begging to go on a DCL cruise since we came back from our last one. NCL would not be the same for her!)

I don't know if this helps anyone (or is totally off topic), but there is an NCL cruise on June 5 that is basically the same itinerary at the June 6 Magic fjords cruise. Based on the opening price thread, a 5C for 6/6/15 on the Magic is $6500 for 2A/1C. The NCL cruise is $4800 for a Family Suite with concierge service. I'm sure a comparable balcony is much less.

You could do the NCL cruise and then still do the B2B on the Magic for the Baltics that follow, but spend the day in between in Copenhagen.

I am looking at a NCL cruise, in and out of Copenhagen, 14 day fjords to the arctic circle - very port intensive. June 12 - 26. $6000 for a mini-suite with verandah for 2 adults.
It works out nicely with the June 29 CPH to Dover cruise, which is 11 nights, about 10K for 2A in a 5C.
OR instead of DCL.

For those wondering what there is at each port, http://www.avidcruiser.com/port-profiles/europe/northern-europe/norway/ has some good info on port excursions, walking distance from the port, what to see, etc.

Sounds like from Stavanger you can take a boat up Lysefjord as a port excursion.

I looked at that NCL cruise. The ports are amaaaazing!!!
