Hi all,
Just wanted to get your thoughts on my ADR plan for December. We have free dining and the trip will include myself, DH, DMom and DSons (2.5 years old, twins). We are staying at the BC for the first time.

Day 1 - Arrive MCO around 1pm
Visit Epcot
No ADRs

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom
Character lunch at Crystal Palace
Date night for DH & I at Blue Zoo (not using dining plan)

Day 3 - Hollywood Studios
Character breakfast at Cape May
Possibly Disney Springs or swim (if warm enough) during evening

Day 4 - Magic Kingdom
Breakfast at BOG (pre-park opening)
Dinner at Le Cellier

Day 5 - Animal Kingdom
Character breakfast OR lunch at Tusker House (holding both in case lunch turns to 2 dining credits)
Possible adult dinner for 2 at Via Napoli (with DMom or DH, won't use dining credits)

Day 6 - Magic Kingdom
Lunch at BOG
Dinner at Teppan Edo

We are trying to make the best use of the dining plan and have meals that will keep the kids entertained. DH requested Le Cellier as that was his favorite meal during his previous (and only) trip to WDW.

We are not planning to do MVMCP or the Candelight Processional as the kids go to bed early and probably aren't old enough yet. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!

The only caution I would make is that it takes time to go from MK to Epcot. Don't underestimate how much time it takes to travel from place to place. You don't want to be rushed. For example, Lunch at BOG then dinner at Teppan is ok as long as you give yourself some time. Don't do a late lunch and then early dinner. Great idea to do some character meals for the young kids.

Thanks! Our general plan is to arrive at the parks in the morning and then leave after lunch so that the kids can nap. Hopefully that leaves enough time. I am trying to move our Teppan Edo ADR to a bit of a later dinner than normal to give a little buffer. I appreciate your comment!

If you are at the BC, consider the Yachtsman in the YC. Although it is a 2 credit place, it is incredible. After a long day, it might be nice not have to walk back to Epcot and stay even closer to home. If your husband likes Lecellier, he will love the Yachtsman.

Thanks you! The menu looks great! I will show this to my husband tonight. :)

If doing Tusker house breakfast I would recommend PPO. Lunch, however, will not be bumped to 2 credits. And if it was, you still only pay what was on your terms and conditions WHEN you reserved.

I agree with akfan. LeCellier was a very good choice when it was one credit on the DDP. But no way is worth 2 credits or the cost if you don't have a dining plan. The Yachtsman is a true signature experience.

However, it will be a pain to get to either restaurant on a day that you're planning to go to the MK. I would choose somewhere on the monorail that day.

Thanks. I probably should have clarified that we plan to do MK in the morning and be back at Beach Club by 2 for the kids to nap. Then we will hang at the the hotel until dinner or maybe to EC shortly before. This is our plan for the days we have reservations at Le Cellier and Teppan Edo.

Trying to convince DH to switch from Le Cellier to Yachtsman now. Verdict is out on that one.....

Thanks! Ideally we will do Tusker House for lunch. Glad to hear it won't be bumped to two credits!

I have to agree that for 2 credits, Yachtsman beats Le Cellier any day.

Of the two, I woudl choose YSH in a heartbeat. It is such a good value when you factor in the differences between the two. Leaving the food aside, ( I am not a fan of Le Cellier so I am biased) the atmosphere is YSH is way nicer. The service is not rushed, no sense of urgency to turn tables quickly, and the tables are nicely spaced.

This is NOT true. The terms can change and the restaurant will charge whatever number if credits the meal is valued at at the time of service. I believe TH lunch will remain at 1 credit too, but in the event it changes the OP will need to decide to keep the ADR or to cancel, but if she keeps it she will pay 2 credits.

Day 1 - Arrive MCO around 1pm - Very smart not to make or stress out try to make ADR's for your arrival day. Plenty of QS options in the world showcase for you to try out.
Visit Epcot
No ADRs

Day 2 - Magic Kingdom -
Character lunch at Crystal Palace - I think that this is a great place to intro the kids to the characters, and the food is good.
Date night for DH & I at Blue Zoo (not using dining plan) - :love2:

Day 3 - Hollywood Studios
Character breakfast at Cape May - Again another great choice for the kids
Possibly Disney Springs or swim (if warm enough) during evening - December is sorta wait and see. The pools are heated somewhat so I would think midday when its the warmest out.

Day 4 - Magic Kingdom
Breakfast at BOG (pre-park opening) - Have you checked the menu out, While worth seeing inside I don't think visiting twice is the way to go. I would check the menu and see which is more to your liking. Lot of other options to try out.
Dinner at Le Cellier - While the food consistently gets good reviews, its very crowded and tables are super close together. Just letting you know. You might want to think about Adult dinner here.

Day 5 - Animal Kingdom
Character breakfast OR lunch at Tusker House (holding both in case lunch turns to 2 dining credits) - Food and service here are both spot on.
Possible adult dinner for 2 at Via Napoli (with DMom or DH, won't use dining credits) - I would go for family meal here

Day 6 - Magic Kingdom
Lunch at BOG - Lot of other options to try out. Everyone should try Ray's once its just so Disney... It does offer 3 bays with some different options.
Dinner at Teppan Edo - Fun night everyone will enjoy.

Monorailing between the parks does take time, you have to switch at transportation station to the monorail that goes back and forth between the parks.
Have a wonderful time.

Thank you! Thank you!

My DH and DMom spoke today and both are adamant that they want to eat at Le Cellier. I keep working on them regarding Yachtsman's but it seems like a losing battle.....they both want that pretzel bread and soup! My mom used to take my brother and I there as kids and it was kind of a tradition. Now that my husband has requested it too, it may be a losing battle!

For BOG, I am going to consider canceling breakfast. The lunch menu looks great but I agree that doing BOG twice in one trip may be overkill.

For Via Napoli, I haven't been able to get a reservation for a party of 5 but will keep working on it. My DH is a bit of a pizza snob (we are from Chicago) and laughed at the concept of good pizza at WDW. I want to prove him wrong! Lol

For traveling between MK and Epcot, the plan is that we would be back at Beach Club for naps in the early afternoon and would just head to Epcot after that, so not direct trips from MK to Epcot. :)

Thanks again for the feedback! Much appreciated!

Thanks! Still working on my DH and DMom on switching to YSH.

Regarding Tusker House, my understanding is consistent with yours in that it CAN change at anytime and I am not paying 2 credits for TH.

I think your general plan is good. It makes a lot of sense to do dinner(s) near your resort. When staying at the EP area resorts, it's nice to have your break and then walk into EP for a nice dinner. We've done this a couple trips and it works out great! So many good restaurants around WS and you're right at it's back door. Finish the evening with illuminations and being able to exit without fighting the masses and it's a dream come true for sure!

Thanks! This is our first stay at Beach Club and we are so excited to take advantage of the location!

Took your advice and reserved a family dinner at Via Napoli. A table for 5 randomly popped up and I grabbed it. Thanks for that tip!

I know many recommended Yachtsman instead of Le Cellier. Well....looks like we will be making the switch! When my DH saw the menu and all of the cuts, he finally agreed. I think the possibility that Wagyu MAY be offered sold him. Plus it will be nice to do one dinner at the hotel! Thanks to all who suggested!
