Thoughts on LTT

I have LTT diner booked for our upcoming trip. Do you think it's worth it? I've been reading some negative stuff. Let me know what you think of the food.

We had dinner there last Oct and loved it. We really liked the food and I love that it was served family style. The atmosphere and service were great. The characters were wonderful and came by the table several times each You will probably get some negative reviews but I say try it.

I haven't been since our last trip in 2002, but we went for lunch and really liked it. I have a lunch ADR for there in December

The food is pretty plain, but that's what makes it so appealing to my family. We aren't busy scraping lots of odd garnishes off our food. The character interaction is wonderful here as well. LTT has become the "don't miss" restaurant for my family on at least one of our MK days.

We were there for Mother's Day dinner.

DH, DD11, DS8, & I had a great time. There was enough of a variety that we all had plenty that we liked. DH (the turkey), DS8 (the flank steak type meat), & I liked the ham. I can't recall what DD11 ate.

The character interaction was great. They kept coming by & DH & I didn't think we'd ever get to eat!

We've definitely made this a "must do" each trip!

I totally agree, went there last year for the first time - trying it this time again!

It you like Stoffers frozen food, you are in hog heaven. If you want something a bit better, leave Magic Kingdom and eat at one of the monorail resorts. However, it is passable IF and this is a big IF, they can keep from dumping the whole salt shaker into your food. This has happened to me twice.

Columbia has decent food but Cindys has the best sit down fare in this park.

We ate here for lunch and it was really good. I had the crab cake, pot roast and strawberry shortcake. I was surprised at how authentic this restaurant looked. It reminded me of a restaurant I ate at in Gettysburg built in a revolutionary-war era home. Really, this was pretty darn close to the real McCoy. Actually, the menu choices were similar too, but LTT was better and for less money. Who would have thought we'd go halfway across the country to eat food from New England?

We didn't care for it, like others said very plain. We have only had lunch, so can't comment on characters. For the money or TS credit we would pick another eating place. It seems to be a love/hate place to eat though so you never know. I think everyone should try each restaurant at least once!

It's one of our family favorites and never miss it on each WDW trip.

We ate there last Sept. Our family loved it. The atmophere was great as was the service. We never had to ask to have our drinks topped up they just kept bring us more. Plenty to eat for the whole family. We are already planning on going back on our next trip in 08.

I can't verify this myself, since I have only gone for lunch, but I've seen on other threads that the items on the lunch menu are better than the family style dinner. Is this true? Just curious, since I've seen a lot of posters say that the food seems "prepackaged" but my meal seemed freshly made and not at all like a Stouffers dinner.

Because of the colonial theming (and because Stoffers is the sponsor), the food is basically bland Thanksgiving fare. That said, we enjoyed the turkey, mashed potatoes, etc - the food is passable if you know what to expect.

The character interaction was great, though. We at an early dinner and the restaurant was not full. Each of the characters came by several times and spent a decent amount of time with us. We are not planning to return in June, but not because we disliked it - it's just time to try out other options.

[I don't know why I keep posting this, but it just surprised me so much when I was there.]

LTT also does not have enough restrooms. If you have any intestinal issues, you'll likley have to leave to use the bathroom.

We went for lunch, and we didn't have Thanksgiving-type food. For appetizers, Dh had a crab cake with corn succatosh, I had a fried cheese (cheese curd and mozzerella), MIL had the soup kettle (barley, that day), and SIL had a salad. For entree, Dh, MIL and I had pot roast in a cabernet/mushroom sauce with vegetables (mainly carrots, onions and celery) and mashed potatoes. SIL had Amber Waves of Grain, a vegetarian dish with seasonal vegetables and whole grains (listed on the menu as New Colony grains...not sure what they were, but they were tasty). For dessert, Dh had Butter Griddled Poundcake with carmel sauce, pecans, and vanilla bean ice cream. MIL and I had strawberry shortcake made with fresh biscuits, whipped cream and vanilla bean ice cream, and SIL had an apple tart with shortbread crust, sugared apples and vanilla bean ice cream. Everything was excellent, but it doesn't sound much like what others have experienced for dinner. Personally, I think I'll stick with lunch at LTT- rather have good food than characters.
