Thoughts on Kona breakfast

Trying to plan a breakfast for our last day at wdw. Is Kona a good choice. I always hear about the Tonga toast. Just want to have a good send off breakfast that falls within TS free dining requirements.

It was one of our favorite meals of the last trip! Delicious and generous portions. The kona coffee was a great treat as well.

I thought it was average. I wouldn't rush back where there are so many other options to try, but I preferred our breakfasts at Boma, Trail's End & Captain's Grille for example. I did have the Tonga Toast, and my husband had the regular pancakes, which were bigger than his head and he couldn't finish. Both meals were yummy but not OH MY GOD, MUST RETURN yummy.

If you're already on the monorail loop or planning to spend the day at MK I'd say sure, but to me it's not worth a special trip.

We always do Kona breakfast since my hubby requests it. He loves the tonga toast. If you like a sweet breakfast than you will probably like tonga toast. We split the tonga toast and also get the fruit plate to share.

Kona is our first choice for a table service breakfast. Our favorites are the Pineapple Macadamia Nut Pancakes, the Samoan (eggs benedict), the Big Kahuna (for large appetites or for sharing) and the pressed pot Kona Coffee. We've had the Tonga Toast and found it to be very sweet so it's ideal for sharing.

We do a lot of character breakfasts so we like it as a relaxing change of pace, especially when staying at the Poly.

Kona breakfast = awesome! A must do every trip...and usually our departure morning breakfast if we dont leave earlier in the morning. For me, I enjoy the relaxed environment and the Big Kahuna breakfast. :)

We had a terrible breakfast at Kona, but I think ours must have been the exception instead of the norm. Most people seem to love it. We had terrible service and terrible food when we ate breakfast there. My breakfast there was the only meal I have ever had at WDW that was truly in-edible and our waitress didn't really care when I pointed out the hard biscuits, undercooked potatoes and runny eggs.

Breakfast at Kona is my favorite meal of any sit down in WDW. My kid is a picky eater, but even he will eat pineapple macadamia pancakes.
Tonga Toast is very, very good, but way too sweet for me to start the day. My DH and I will split a Big Kahuna, a fruit plate and a press pot of Kona coffee almost every trip.

I'm surprised that so many love Kona breakfast. We thought it was good, but not anything spectacular. I must not have ordered the right thing!
We like Kona's dinner very much, but find that the service is SLOW there, so I can't plan it for our last morning when we have a plane to catch.

One time it was great. Last time was terrible. So bad the husband who eats ANYTHING and loved that it was one of our few no character meals said let's just do 'Ohana breakfast next time.

Love Kona for breakfast (or dinner, too, actually). As a general rule, I love a breakfast buffet, so a menu-driven breakfast isn't always a first choice, but when we're doing that, Kona has one of the more unique selections of breakfast options, along with some traditional favorites, so for me, it's a great choice. But if it's just the Tonga Toast that interests you, remember that you can also get it at Captain Cook's quick service at the Poly (and a little cheaper, albeit without the strawberry sauce).

The Samoan, at the Kona, is my ultimate must have breakfast at Disney... I just had it twice in three days. lol

Kids love the tonga toast, I really like the macadamia pineapple pancakes and hubby likes the omelet. It is the one TS breakfast we do.

Kona is one of my favorite places in Disney for breakfast! The Tonga Toast is great, but I usually go before hitting MK for rope drop so I like something a little less heavy.. and I love the macadamia pineapple pancakes! They are so good! The Kona press pot of coffee is some of the best coffee I've had! Kona is one of my must dos for breakfast each trip!

We have a breakfast planned there for our first day in Florida (the day before our vacation starts after a 13 hour drive). Afterwards, we are going to ride the monorail before we hit I-Drive.
