Anyone out there that has used the dinning plan and found it to be a saver? I was looking into it for my next trip, just want some feedback on ease of use, etc.

Very easy, just pass the server your room key just like when you pay with credit card, then your done, tip included!!! I did a Post with breakdown of all our meals and what we used for credits vs money paid OOP for things, very good results. Saved us alot, spent hardly any OOP for food and beverage, we used snack credits for water and soda usually! You can look in my old posts to check it out!! If you have any specific questions just ask, we loved the plan for us it was like being at an all inclusive, we only spent on fun stuff instead of food!!! We also shared alot with DD4, she eats like a bird, so a whole meal would be wasteful, sharing was acceptable at all the restaurants we went to! Have fun planning your trip!

We used it in June and it saved us hundreds of dollars. Check out the restaurant board for lots of info...

I wasn't sure if you could share on the dining plan, and save meals for later? I think we'd do the same as you said with the kids. TIA!

From what I understand, everyone in your hotel room must be on the plan and you have to have it for each night of your stay, so sharing meals isn't going to help you save anything, unless you want to save up an extra meal because you are going to a dinner show which costs 2 table service meals. It's only $9.99 per day for kids, so even if they don't eat everything they order, how can you beat that? I've read there are kids' menus in all the restaurants, and most of them will accomodate special requests, like PB&J, even if it's not on the menu. It seems to be quite flexible too, like you can mix and match the meals amongst people or days. I'm looking forward to not having to carry cash or relying on the credit card for food. We've got it for our trip in October, and I will definitely give a full report upon my return.

Rumor has the mix and match will stop very soon.

It can save you money - but like everything else, it only saves you money if you would have spent it anyway. If you were the type to eat offsite, do counterservice meals, haul in the PB&J, it won't save you a penny - but you'll eat at a lot of places you wouldn't otherwise. Even if you were the type to eat a sit down meal each day, if you were the type happy sharing an entree and skipping other courses, you won't save money. And you need to use it. Which with its popularity and the risk of not being able to find somewhere to seat you without a PS, might be a challenge unless you are willing to plan around meals.

Oh no! I hope they continue it through October...

I have made all my meal reservations already. I was afraid to structure it that way, since we have 2 kids - 5 and 7 - and flexibility is the name of the game, but I figured it would be good to have scheduled down time to rest and eat a good meal so we won't be too tired. And really, except for the dinner shows and lunch at CRT, it's only a reservation, so if we blow the others off it's no big deal.
