we have never stayed off site, however kids have grown and this place has a one bedroom suite with good rates. Thoughts...

I stayed there last October and found it run down. I didn't care for the dining and atmosphere wasn't great. I was there for a convention at another hotel, but there also seemed to be alot of meetings going on there also.

I don't see how it could look rundown because they have just renovated everything. I thought it looked beautiful. All of the rooms are brand new... oh well...to each his own.

disneyfan3.................you stayed there this past July, right??

So tell us.........what did the rooms look like? Were you in a 2 bedroom, 1 bedroom........I don't even know what they offer.

As far as how the place looked, you might be the best person to speak to since you have been there recently.

Did you have a trip report or anything? If you did, could you give us the link to your report? Thanks. :sunny:

I am wondering how you knew I stayed at the caribe in July? That is spooky!Anyway, I stayed there for about a week. The rooms decor is more modern than it was before. The first room you walk into is a sitting room with a pullout sleeper and tv and sink with refrigerator and microwave. You pass the bathroom into the second room with a king or two queen beds. (I stayed in a one bedroom). Everything seemed fresh and brand new to me. I have stayed here for about 10 years going back and forth with disney hotels. I always come back here for the convienice with kids. The rooms are in a circle and pool is in the middle so walking is limited. They have towers for just families and then towers for conventions. They are good about separating you from the convention people. Any problems I have had they always rectify immediately for me. I like the way the kids can be in a separate room and with AAA I paid $97 with tax this summer. It is like paying for two rooms and that is well worth it. Pop century was charging $79 a room and with 2 rooms we are talking about $180 a night. Of course with my kids the pool has to be the main event and the pool is wonderful. It has a slide with a lifeguard at all times and a waterfall. There is a playground close by that the kids can run over to. There is a large round kiddie pool with pool toys (water that shoots out). They used to have a free breakfast buffet that made our stay perfect but they have taken that away and they just have a restaurant. We usually go to the deli and buy oatmeal or you can buy a small breakfast for a fee. The food is really good and I am picky. I like the atmosphere of the place because at the pool you always see men in their uniforms walking around cleaning up,picking up towels. This summer there were some boys that were fooling around pushing each other in the pool around other guests and two security men were there and handled the situation. They have a bar and food outside by the pool. I have seen the same employees there since I started going 10 years ago so that is a good sign that they are happy and well treated. I am very picky about where I stay and I keep coming back here. It feels like a nice resort but the prices are affordable. Yes, I have stayed at the ritz in naples and at the GF and while there is a time and place for those places, the caribe meets our needs with the KIDS. Hope this helps and I will be happy to answer any specific questions. Look at this website and you can see the new rooms and the pool! www.cariberoyale.com :flower:

We are staying 2 nights at the Caribe Royale but can get a Moderate Resort at WDW for the same price. We have 1 child and we plan on going to Sea World. After these two nights we will be staying at DVC resort for 5 nights.

Which would you do ?? Caribe or Corando Springs or other moderate??

The only problem with staying at a disney moderate is there is only one room. I like to have a separate room for the kids because they go to bed earlier and we like to stay up longer. If we are in the same room they never go to sleep with the tv on and I can't go to sleep that early. If everyone sleeps at the same time then I would stay at a disney hotel if not for the ambiance. Have fun!
