I thought I'd post some of our expericences from our recent BLT stay for those who are planning upcoming trips. We checked in on Labor Day afternoon. We were directed to the Contemporary convention center entrance as the Contemporary main entrance had construction walls around it. A CM drove us to the front of the Contemporary to check in. Check in was fast and pleasant. We walked through the convention center back to our car that was parked there. We self parked and did not use bell services, as we only had a few bags. We were able to pull up to the entrance of BLT and unload. There are no luggage carts so we used our stroller and made two trips. We were in a studio on the first floor on the south side (room 7138). The only issue we had with the location was that therere were always housekeeping carts out in the hallway. My wife was not a big fan of that!
The pool area was great! My 3 year old loved the fountains and the small slide. I used the big slide a few times and it was fun. The zero entry area was also great. I think that all kids are going to love the pool, regardless of age. We checked out Bocce Ball equipment one afternoon. We had to leave our room key as deposit. The courts were raked and clean and we had a good time playing, though my 3 year old kept picking up the white ball. We spent some time in the communtiy hall, as well. They had coloring pages out, Disney themed, of course. There was a big TV with movies/Disney Channel playing, and the Wii was hooked up here. There were also 4 playstations/xboxes (I can't remember which). There was a foosball table and board games. There were planned activities like origami, wii bowling tournaments, etc planned, though we didn't do them.
We watched the fireworks from the top of BLT 3 nights. The view is fantastic. I especially like the halloween fireworks. They have fireworks all around the magic kingdom, and it looks really cool from here. We used the bar one night and were impressed with the artwork and mural of the monorails behind the bar.
Overall, we had a great time and like the resort. The proximity of the MK was incredible. We were in our room at 10:20 after the 10:00 fireworks (we watched from Town Square of MK), so walking back and avoiding the buses/monorail saved a lot of time.
I would be happy to answer any questions about our experience.

:) I was raised a Tiger Fan and was born in Opelika. I enjoyed your trip report and I can imagine it was a great location with a 3 year old!

Glad you had such a nice trip! Where did you store your luggage in the studio?
Is the closet big enough to hold two suitcases?

Yes, depending on the suitcases. The closet in the studio has two doors that open, so I would say it's 4 feet wide. There is a safe in there that is big enough to fit my 15" wide laptop that takes up some of the room. There was pack-n-play in there as well. I can't recall if there was a vacuum. There was a shelf over the hanger rod that did not have anything on it. The suitcases could probably go there.

We are staying in a studio in November. Thanks for sharing your TR. Do you have any pictures of your view?

Is your studio considered a "standard view" room? Could you post any photos of your view? Thanks for report.

How was the size of the studio? Some reports are that the studio is very small. Glad you had a great time. Thanks for the report!

Sorry, no pics of the views. Our view was of the marina at the Contemporary. We walked out of our patio and towards the lake for the nighttime water parade. I would agree with the smallness of the studios. We've stayed in studios at Hilton Head, Saratoga, and BLT, and the BLT was the smallest. We had the sofa bed out for our daughter and left it open during the whole trip. That left us a narrow aisle from the door to the patio door to use. We kept the stroller at the entrance by the door to the one bedroom next door. It worked for us because it was just the three of us. I would not want to do it with older kids.

This was a standard view studio.

Thanks for the information. I thought the check-in lobby for BLT was in the BLT tower? How come you had to go to the convention center?

Checkin was at the Contemporary, as was bell services and valet parking. There was one or two CM's in the lobby of BLT, but all checkin/concierge,etc was at Contemporary. The convention center was a temporary place for bell services and valet while construction was going on.

Thanks! How long is the construction going on for in the Contemporary Lobby?

I don't know how long it will be this way. The convention center entrance is very near the contemporary entrance (within sight), so it doesn't add very much walking. Also, the construction was completely outside. The interior had no construction going on, at least while we were there.
