Hve only been to WDW during value seasons, september, early december and Janurary, so how are the crowds, weather and other factors in May? We may go in 2007 and our only options to go would be during the summer months may-early aug. and we don't want to go in June or July be cause I know that peak time, would the middle of aug. be good, only worry is rain and hurricans. :umbrella:

We went in the middle of may this year and the crowds were not bad at all. Weather was great...just over 80 and only had rain on one day for the week. We went in the middle and I hear that crowds pick up the later in May you go.

We go at the end of April, beginning of May all the time. We love it, the crowds aren't crazy, the weather is great! I don't think you would be disappointed if you went at this time.

Have fun!! :)

we went int he middle of May, we left on the first Star Wars weekend, and it was great. The tanning was great, as my 2 girls can tell you, and the parks weren't busy at all. but as I said we were there before the Star Wars weekends. I would think they get busy at that time. this year I think May 19 started the star wars and most of the resorts were booked. We now have a new 'favorite' time of the year to go.

We usually go the last week of September with our family. IN 2006, our daughter started Kindergarten and so we decided not to take her out of school so early in the school year. We ended up going May 12-19. I found that September crowds were much lighter than May. We really didn't use a fastpass in September. Every time we have gone in September, it seems like it has rained at some point every day. In May, it rained only one day. We found Spetmeber to be much hotter than May. Also, the parks are open later in May. Last time we went in September, we were there for a hurricane, but i wouldn't let that deter me from going again in September. I liked both times, but next time i would prefer to go in September.

The only note of caution is that the weather gets hotter and the crowds increase very fast! I'm an early morning person, getting to the park at opening and leaving by noon. However, last year I went with Mom who doesn't get to the parks before about 11:00. Boy, was it hot and crowded when we went last year! But this year, I went back to my usual "schedule" of being at the park at opening, and it seemed much cooler and less crowded. But I went inside someplace for an early lunch and when I came out, the heat and crowds had definitely arrived. So be at the parks early.

We went May 19-May 26, loved it, not to crowded, to us it was super hot, but we got used to it. Kids last day of school is May 18. So they don't miss any school either. Go for it! :thumbsup2

We went the first week of May and thought it was not crowded at all. We used fastpass once for Everest. Otherwise, most fastpass times were for half an hour from the time we were there.

Thanks for the responses. I was looking at the may 2007 calander and was wondering is it busy on Mothers day or what would it be like if we had a return flight leaving the sat. of memorial day weekend?

May is a great time to go. Its not too crowded yet, as most kids are still in school, and the weather is great. We just went May 20-26th and the crowds were not bad at all, we didn't wait long for anything. Very small waits in the morning and moderate crowds in the afternoon and evenings. Some of the big rides like EE, Soarin, Test Track, etc, had long lines, like 45-60min, but those could be easily avoided with smart use of the fastpass.

We did May 5 to 14 this year instead of our usual March time frame. Much warmer, crowds were building as the week went on, but not terrible. Would return in May again.

We've been at WDW over both Memorial Day weekend and Mother's day weekend. Crowds have been quite maneagable both times.
BTW, we're going next May too-can't miss the F&G Festival!
