Is there anything that does bug you about staying in them, but maybe not enough to bump up to ocean view or balcony????? I kind of feel like you are probably not in your room that much so it is not that big a deal. I gues I am looking for someone to sell me on why they book them. THANKS

PRICE!!! :) for us, at least, but some who do not like daylight might choose it :)

We had two inside on Wonder last cruise...we loved the layout of the sideways inside stateroom...just seemed more spacious and not so claustrophobic as a long room....we loved it!

We would prefer window but not worth 2-3k for our family of five to get daylight when we can go outside and see it in 20 steps!! :)

We book inside staterooms. Cost is the primary consideration but DH likes it to be very dark to sleep so it works well, especially for daytime naps!

I just don't think a porthole or verandah provides a good value for our family. We all get the same meals, activities, and service. Why pay more?

On the Magic and Wonder, it would definitely be price that influenced me, although I would go for at least an oceanview every time if I could afford it as I really like natural light.

On the Dream though, when the prices are first released, and sometimes for a while after, the inside and oceanviews are the same price. This is obviously because people want to see the new virtual portholes in the inside rooms.

Waking up and not knowing if it's 3am or 3 pm is a problem for me . . on the Dream, there is a clock, but on the Classics there is nothing. I have to wake myself up more to look at my phone, then it's really bright and blinds me!!:cool2:

In all our cruises (10 or so, but not with Disney) .... we've always booked inside until our recent cruise where the upgrade fairy gave us a balcony:)

We love inside. We like the price savings. We like the "blackout" sleeps. And we rarely spend enough time in our cabin to pay a premium.

HOWEVER

Now that we have been spoiled with a balcony, we will consider the upgrade price to a balcony. I'll admit that we enjoyed the balcony on our recent cruise. It was a great place to have extra storage, placing wet bathing suits to dry, and just to chill and unwind. Even my 4 year old went out to site by himself and enjoy the view.

I would not pay a huge premium for a view .... but if the price was right, I would consider it.

I am lookign forward to our "magical" view on Dream

Price IS the overriding factor for us. But truth is once you are out in the middle of the ocean at night it doesn't matter where you sleep because it is DARK!! I learned what dark was on our last cruise. You might have some light from neighboring cabins or the ships ambient lighting, but I don't think sleeping inside is bad at all.

No idea what we'll book for our next cruise. Will have to see what the prices are on board in a month. If a view is cheaper then that is the route we'll go:thumbsup2

We are going on our first cruise next April and I orginally booked an inside room. When I seen the price for a verandah was only a few hundred more I switched. I figured its our first time and I want to enjoy every view I can get.

We booked a verandah stateroom on our first cruise ... and had smokers on each side and above us. We spent NO time on our verandah. Since then we've mostly had inside staterooms, apart from, on the Magic, one on Deck 8 that had a large porthole, and one on Deck 2 (2002) that was far forward and had a few extra square feet for its category because of the curve of the bow.

I don't know if DCL's smoking policy has changed, but I personally wouldn't pay a penny more for a verandah ... We've been happy with insides or windows!

When I booked my last 2 cruises, the cheaper ones were oceanviews, so I go with the cheapest. When I browse for future cruises, inside is the cheapest, so I'm just going to go with that...although I would prefer the layout and the view of an oceanview, it wouldn't bother me too much considering I'm only in there to sleep, change, and shower

There is nothing that bugs me about an inside cabin. In 20 cruises on 5 cruise lines - I have stayed in 11 inside cabins, 7 oceanview cabins, and 2 balcony cabins. I have 4 future cruises booked as far as April 2013, and all are insides. I'd rather spend my money on a longer trip, more excursions, or more frequent travel than on a more expensive cabin.

We have been on 2 Disney Cruises and had verandas both times. We hardly ever used them on both trips - we were out of the room so much. We are going again in December and opted for the less expensive inside room.

I have booked an inside stateroom for every cruise I have ever been on except for our upcoming one. For me you are going on the cruise for the experience and how much time are you really going to spend in your room anyway. However with that said, now that we are sailing with 2 kids as opposed to just the 2 of us, we opted to get an outside stateroom for the room not necessarily for the view.

Waking up and not knowing if it's 3am or 3 pm is a problem for me . . on the Dream, there is a clock, but on the Classics there is nothing. I have to wake myself up more to look at my phone, then it's really bright and blinds me!!:cool2:

We just got off the Wonder last week and our stateroom (a sideways inside) had the same iPod-compatible clock we had on the Dream.

we have always booked insides for the price as well. We have had 3 so far and we have 3 more insides booked for future cruises. My main concern has always been being located at midship! :cool1: I was a little concerned about four people being cramped but we really had plenty of room to get dressed even without the split baths. Great way to save money for souvenirs and excursions! :thumbsup2

For me a room with a view is a must. I don't need a verandah but a view is in order. I am one that needs to have my bearings. I have done an inside room but it was on RCCL and we had a view of the promenade which was still ok. I didnt feel trapped. I guess really it is a matter of personal preference. For me it is worth a few extra dollars for at least a porthole. :flower3:

Price is the deciding factor for us too. We always ask our travel agent to get us the cheapest cabin available. It's usually, but not always, and inside cabin. On our last cruise, the cheapest available was a cat 5D on Dream, with a very nice verandah. It was nice, but I wouldn't have paid extra for it if I didn't have to.

By always choosing the least expensive room, we can cruise a lot more often than we otherwise could. All the rooms on the ship go to the same ports, and everyone eats in the same restaurants and sees the same shows, etc. There are lots of nice places to sit outside and enjoy the view, so for us, least expensive is definitely the way to go!

The two things I didn't like were:

1. Not having the split bath. We have two teenage girls, so being able to shower and still have the other bath with a sink free for them to use really helped.

2. Waking up in the morning. With the natural light coming in, we would wake up from that. But without it, we had to set the alarm or we would have slept until noon.

Other than those two thing, the inside room was fine.

i soooooooo want to know what that one poster stores on their verandah....:confused:

:rotfl:

I was really nervous about my choice for inside rooms last time (family of 5 and did 2 standard inside) but I really liked them! I have kids who wake up at the first light outside, so they were great (they were still up early, that is what they do, but not as early). As much as I like sunlight (I really really do) and a view, I was pleasantly surprise at the inside rooms. So much so, we booked them for our next cruise.

Out of 5 DCL cruises so far, 4 inside and one with a porthole. The next 4 are all inside cabins.

We're at the point where we prefer them cause of price and honestly we just don't spend that much time in the cabin to merit it.
