If we hit rope drop in MK at 7am, what time do you think the crowds will start picking up and I should start booking FP? I was thinking 9:30am. Will the crowds come earlier than that? or do you think I will still have time to get on some attractions with little wait and I should book later than that?

I would not start them any later than that.

We had good luck riding rides in 2012 from 7-1030ish? Then we ate lunch and after we came out (about 1130) it was a madhouse (12/26/12). So, my plan is to make the first FP probably around 10-1030, then the other two for after lunch - OR we will plan to leave after lunch (this worked in 12 b/c the crowds just got to be too much) and make them for after dinner. Im still trying to decide. Perhaps this thread will help :confused3

Following...I've been wondering about this also. When I looked on Touring Plans it appeared that wait times started to increase around 10:00 AM on the 25th, but I'd love to hear from people who have experience in MK on Christmas morning.

We went Christmas week once- we were at rope drop every morning (btw- it was dark every morning! haha) We walked on rides the first hour and half at least, then it picked up a little- but still very little wait until about 10am. As a previous poster said- by lunch it was a madhouse. But we pretty much rode freely until 9ish- and then had small waits. I'd start them about 10- maybe 10:30. Or- maybe ride until lunch and save them for the afternoon- trust me- by lunch- lines are insane.
Christmas is crazy busy- but if you realize this going into it and are prepared- it will be a wonderful trip! Definitely one of my all time favorites- so magical!

Great thread - would love to hear from others who were there last year, and how this worked! We were there in 2011 with just our kids, and we had no problems at all when arriving early and riding up until almost noon. This year however, we are going with my sister and her two (much younger) kids who have never been. I'm not sure how realistic RD will be for them, so I'm really torn on how to set up the FP. Was actually thinking of saving most, if not all for late afternoon and after dinner as our plan most days is to be there early (if not at RD) and leave just around lunch, come back later afternoon and stay into the evening.

Also will be there that week. We snagged BOG on 12/25 so now we have to go to the parks!
Our plan is RD, maybe a mid morning fast pass, ADR at GF café at 11:00 and get out of the craziness. We will return to MK around 5:00 to get to our ADR at 6:20. I am hoping this works out. I will try to FP+ a couple of rides after our ADR.

:offtopic:Anyone have experience driving/ parking at MK on Christmas?

Our BOG ADR's are at 6:50pm on Christmas! We are all excited!
