For those of you in who fly out of Manchester or Bradley....what have you paid to fly to Orlando in November?

We're looking to fly down on Nov 27th, 05, and come back on Dec 3rd...If the Saturday overnight makes that big of a difference, we'll come back the 4th.

Since it's so far out- I cant even get an idea of what they're going to be. But I need this part for budget planning...there's 4 of us, and we're open to SouthWest...

I can't drive this time, though we have every othe time we've gone to FL...this time, we're pulling the kids out of school for a week already, dont want to add to that with driving time

Thanks!

Brandy

We're paying $186 roundtrip out of Providence for next Sat -
we do have a change in Atlanta - it was $100 less per tick than direct
Sat to following Sun - on Delta

Bradley to Orlando on southwest at that time typically can be purchased for about 150.00 pp. we are going out on 12/3 returning 12/11 and really lucked out at 117.00pp, but in the past three years we have paid about 150.00 pp. I believe you will be going down a week after thanksgiving which is good as the fares shoot WAY up on holiday weeks.
this is for a direct flight btw

Brandy,

My mom is flying from Manchester 11/4 and I paid $155 R/T for her ticket on SW (she gets a bit of a senior discount though). My brother and his daughter are flying from Manchester to Orlando on SW 12/3 and they paid $175 R/T. Hopefully since you are going after Thanksgiving the price will be better.

Tinkim- have your brother plug in his dates again on sw, they have an internet special for 12/3 ( i happen to know as I am flying out then) and he can get it for like 135.00 rt. with taxes/fees, he can get a credit to use on another flight

Ann,

Thanks for the idea. I will try it for him. He's not much of a planner. Actually he is driving me crazy. Doesn't want to make any plans and just wants to "wing it when we get there." Ugh  I don't think he realizes what a huge place WDW is and how much more they could see even with just minimal planning. Do you know if someone else could use his credit or if they might possibly credit his card for the lower fare? He says this is a once in a lifetime trip for him and DD and I don't know if he will be flying again anytime soon. Thanks.

Kim

I don't know if anyone else could use the credit, it is good for a year, he could try applying for a refund but I don't know if he would get it.
Maybe it could be applied towards another family members ticket who flys more often. Try giving southwest a call (1800southwest)

We paid $79 each way on Southwest out of Providence last year -- (not including the airport fees and new security tax -- I can't remember what that came to.) I think the fare was the same whether we flew out of Providence or Manchester.

Brandy -

The biggest issue you face is the cost of the outbound ticket. This falls into the busiest travel weekend of the year and both Southwest and Song (Delta) which fly direct without stops from Hartford to Orlando don't have cheap fares for the outbound leg. Both will charge you between $109 and $140 for this part of the trip and between $87 and $90 for the return. If you could shift your departure to Monday you could save between $22 and $53 a ticket. If you could open up Boston as a possible departure point, you could look at JetBlue fares which are a bit cheaper on the outbound (but will be offset by parking costs). Flights out of Boston on Song are always about 25% cheaper than from Hartford and could save you some money.

Best of luck planning!!

Brian

Hmmmmmmm Jet Blue flies out of Burlington....I might have to look into them....

I'm not really wanting to change to Monday- if I do that, we cut a day off of vacation...it might boil down to driving again...but I was so looking forward to flying!

If we drive, we'll leave on Sat early am, and stop over... arrive Sunday...then coming home- geez...same thing- Sat stop over, home Sunday..the kids more than likely would have to miss another day of school- Monday- for a recovery day...I'm gonna start socking away airplane ticket money- and figure on 250 a person, that way if its cheaper I have more spending money LOL

thanks guys

Brandy
