Those of you heading to VB Speed Trap

For those driving to VB when headed across the Wabasso Causeway(SR510) to the Resort obey the speed limit which is 40. Frequently there is an officer disguised as a fisherman at the far end of the bridge discretely aiming his gun right at you. Many don't even realize it until just ahead there is officer waving you and numerous others over, where a side road turns off to the right before you start up the causeway hump. They can get you for just a couple of mph over. Not exaggeration. Have seen dozens of cars pulled over on a weekend. Should know better here visiting often and if wasn't for a "flasher", would have been caught over Memorial Day Weekend. A buddy got ticketed for 44 coming to help look for the honeymooners lost ring mentioned earlier. Note: Not condoning speeding. A ticket could put a damper on a nice visit to the VB Resort.

Ok...passed the information on to our drivers for Sunday...and the rest of the week. We go back and forth across that bridge a few times during each stay!

One of the locals writes a newsletter and this past issue she told a story where a friend was driving back and forth across the causeway at exactly 40 in protest until they pulled him over for impeding a police investigation or something like that.

If you go double the speed limit, don't you arrive twice as fast and therefore consume half as much fuel?

Also watch out for them along I-95 in Brevard County. When we drove to VB on 6/5 there were at least three with cars pulled over south of SR-528. They are rebuilding I-95 and they are more agressive in construction zones.

That stretch of I-95 from Titusville to PalmBay is one dangerous stretch of road.

One more thing that everyone should be aware of when driving in FL. When you approach emergency vehicles on the roadway, you are required to move over one lane or slow down to 20 mph below the speed limit.
