Those of you being told "NO" on AP rates...

If you have an existing reservation that you are trying to convert, it seems that Disney is telling people there is no availability. However, if you try and book a new reservation for the same period, people seem to be getting the AP rate. I guess Disney is trying to discourage conversions on these. Just something to keep in mind.

I had a rack rate reservation for All Start Movies (10/18 - 10/25) and called this morning at 8:30 and was able to switch to AP rates at ASMu for the same dates. I was told no AP rate rooms were available at any Moderate or All Stat Movies for those dates.

I also had a 9 day reservation at WL for Woodsview (rack rate) 12/5 - 12/14 and was able to get the Concierge AP rate ($219) for 12/6 - 12/13. I was told that no AP rooms other than Concierge were available for those dates.

I also picked up three days the Poly GV for $170/night

for AS Movies and was told there was no availability for any of the days during my stay for any of the AS...and I called at 6:59 AM...very strange. I asked for Music & Sports also. I must have gotten one of the new CMs.

We had an existing ressie at WL for 2 rooms on 10/4. I was able to apply an AP rate this morning and the price went from $480 std view to $368 courtyard view. Hooray!

I had an existing reservation with the Poly for months. I called this morning and got all 9 nights at the AP rate.

I finally got through at 8:30 est and was told all that was available at the deluxe hotels for my time stay 10/13-10/19 was GF totaling $1900 and BW Concierge totaling $1967. I currently had reservations at the BW at rack rate and changed to concierge. While I wanted to stay concierge at some point I just couldn't justify the extra $$$ at this time. I was very upset. I called back to see if I could get some days standard room ap rate and some rack rate. Right off the bat the wonderful CM (Hunter :) ) asked me if I wanted a water view. At first she could only get it for 5 nights and boy did she work trying to squeeze that 6 night. So we decided to do 5 nights at AP and one rack rate. When she changed the room category to water view in my existing reservation it was accepted all 6 nights. Then looked again and saw standard view available for all 6 nights. So I was able to book what I originally wanted. Standard view 6 nights totaling $1331. I don't know if I just got lucky and while on the phone someone canceled reservations or if they opened up more rooms. So I suggest if you didn't get an ap rate for your stay that you keep trying. :)

Take Care

I called at 9 this morning and had little trouble converting my 12/11-18 king bed CBR reservation. I merely asked to apply the AP discount (I didn't have the code at the time) and the CM said he couldn't find it in the computer, but asked me to hold while he asked someone.

After holding for almost 10 minutes he came back on the line and apologized profusely for the wait and told me that he went ahead and applied the discount (and he informed that I should have asked for code AMI) changing the tax-included total from the AAA rate of $924 to the AP rate of $695 ($132/$99.40 an night).

It's not that we're saving money, we'll just spend it on other things while at WDW. ;)

I had no problem converting my ressie at WL for December 18-27. There were no standard rooms available, so I had to upgrade to woods view, but I'm still saving over $700 on our stay.

I was surprised it was so easy. I half expected to be told no rooms were available at all after reading the boards.

Good post, WebmasterPete!

This is exactly what happened to me this morning.

I called back a little later and got what I wanted. I can only attribute my experience to what your stating here!

I'd recommend to anyone who's met with issues to call back tomorrow, when "cancelled" dates should be recycled back into the system again, per what I was told by some gentleman on the line this morning (here's to hoping he experiences the same courtesy he extended to me.)

Well, it worked out in the end. Now if I can get through the next few months I'll be just fine...

I must have a dark cloud hanging over me. I called back and AS Sports was available for my time period. When the CM went to another screen, someone else grabbed the AP ressie! This is the third time I am having bad luck with this round of rates. Guess I'll just keep trying...

I think as always--it depends on what CM you happen to get when you call....
